i like how you do your makeup, very seamlessly. And i always wonder the same when looking at essence and catrice at the store too lol. And there's far less reviews or grwm with catrice products, so you'll almost never see them on those "full face of drugstore" videos either, so i feel like in turn they get picked less, and then reviewed less, and so on. Their products aren't bad, but you don't have the miriad of reviews and content to be able to see and choose confidently like you do with other brands (like essence). And sometimes, for example with their shimmery glosses, the essence one will bring the same amount, a similar (if not better) range of colours, and cost one or two dollars less lol while you also know they are made by the same manufacturer. and i do believe, again, that it's because of how popular essence is. and since catrice is less popular, your chances of picking a product that has been sitting on the shelf for longer are higher lol (i've really noticed this with some brow products). Catrice has gotten left behind a little. the brand is still suppossed to be the older sister to essence, but it doesn't get as wide a range of products or as many releases, not to mention, depending on where you live, you can still count on seeing the whole essence range on display, but not necesarily catrice. So what ends up happening is that people will "jump" from essence to something like maybelline, then maybe revlon/loreal, then nyx. they skip the catrice step lol. I would love if the brand got a glow up. some love. they are not bad, you can see the potential
I completely agree, Catrice really messed up by pulling their products from retailers in the US & the UK, you can only order their products off their site & limited products from Amazon! However some of their products are really good & should get more exposure but it doesn't help that they aren't available everywhere... Picking your shades & tones online is definitely not the same as swatching in store which puts them behind the rest of the drugstore brands! They are for sure in need or a brand refresh! In South Africa its literally one of the most affordable brands alongside Essence, for us L'Oréal, Revlon & Maybelline are all mid-range as you can get Essence & Catrice products for a third of the price!! Thank you so much for your comment & starting the conversation x
