Jerry Lewis was born on March 16, 1926, in Newark, his name at birth was Joseph Levitch. His father Daniel was an actor and master of ceremonies who performed under the name Danny Lewis. His mother Rachael was a piano player for the New York City radio station.
He started performing along with his parents when he was five years old. He dropped out of the Irvington High School to pursue a career as a full-time entertainer and started using the stage name Jerry Lewis.

For all it's worth..I enjoyed both of these performers..regardless of their history. What I wonder about is the Hollywood image and the machinery that keeps it going. Like the Dentistry element...stars go in for a make over and come out looking alien. Jerry had a nice natural smile..but his last photo montage his smile was way too artificial. Too many teeth and the size were like chiclettes,too large. Come on DDS's are shameful...give these Stars decent looking veneers. Love the channel....this is just a random observation of our society. Kudos!
