Dynacord VRS23 - modded for CV input - otherworldly long reverb ambiences!

- What can I say - I'm so happy that I pulled this off.
While the VRS23 is already a great great box, this brings it to the next level.
This is how the mod works in practice:
When the white cable is plugged into a CV source, the "Delay" knob should be on 1.
At around 2 we get the full effect of the external CV.
Negative CVs will decrease the frequency of the clock driving the BBD chips, thus lengthening the delay time.
Even so much that you get to cleary hear the clock whine, and sometimes it brings the BBDs to a full halt.
And of course you can feed the VRS23 all sorts of fun things that I'm not even covering here: Noise, Sequencers, Envelopes, FM(!).
The internal modulation will do its wonky thing on top.
There can be DC voltages present on the CV input cable of the Dynacord.
Not a real issue with properly designed modular devices, as they should have a load resistor on their outputs.
It still has a bit of a mad scientist touch, maybe I should call it more a hack than a mod.
My new favorite channel!
Thanks man, appreciated.
More videos are in the making..
Love those moody sounding BBD's.......so glitchy and reminiscent of old 70's sci fi movies!
(Fantastic mod by the way, brilliant work!)
Wow!!!
Amazing! Did you do the mod yourself?
No answer ?
Really great work 😊! Does the CV control the clock speed? Sound amazing and am just demoing the Audiotity vst of the VRS.
Interesting to hear that there's more a plugin version. I'm all for new tech but in the demo on audiority's website I'm not hearing the typical density of the"reverb" mode. It sounds more like a bunch of individual delays.
I still think that the VRS23 is a pretty unique sounding box.
What parameter is the cv mod for? It sounds beautiful but I don't quite follow quite what mod has been applied and to which parameter.
It puts the delay time under CV control.
