Getting to the back of your opponent is the most important skill in Jiu-Jitsu. It limits them to mainly defending, while you have an array of attacks and transitions available to you. In this series we will show many paths to the back from different positions as well as some submissions on the way to getting there.

It’s called a matrix backtake. The bear trap is completely different.
