What I love about Derick's comprehensive guide is his emphasis on "versatility" : he clearly understands while there exists an optimal build, some players may not be able to achieve such build due to either budget (promos and staples can make or break a deck list) or different approaches on overall strategies (sometimes even due to aesthetics reasons) ; thus his tech suggestions are so user-friendly and approachable. My current Minerva list and Chronojet list are slightly different than most meta lists but they certainly follow Derick's deck-building philosophy closely. Keep up the good work! I may never planning to build PBO or Welstra anytime soon, but guides like these help me comprehensively understand how a certain deck function so they help me to learn how to counter them in the future as well.
Great guide as always. PBO is one of my all-time favorite Standard decks, and I am glad I took it to our Spring Fest over here in the Philippines. Was originally gonna go for Youthberk until I noticed how slow and suspectible to rush it was, meanwhile I playstested PBO for fun and yet it had better results thus why I swapped to it and I am glad I did. I actually tried your decklist for a bit, until I decided to try out other cards based on my observations from playstesting: Namely I dropped the Nemains, maxed out the Drilling Angels and Emmelines, and ran the G1 Dragontree card as my remaining G1s. I also added a 2nd Blaster Dark just for contingency, ran a rainbow trigger line-up and went for Wingal Brave and Marron as my ride deck G0 and G1 instead as I was running Elementaria.
Loving this comprehensive guide series man, great job! I don't play most of them but it's definitely helped me know better how they work for when I inevitably face them! Keep it up! 😄
Id probably play an extra copy or 2 of blaster dark. If you dont see the grade 2 promo in one of your g3 turns and your opponent is playing something that can remove your blaster dark from play (GC , youthberk , vermillion when its out etc), you kinda just straight up autolose. I like the rest of the list. If only emmeline wasnt worth a kidney , id prob make this.
Nice deck profile! I love pbo that I went top 8 with it at my vmc last year. I'm updating my deck profile soon and and will upload a video of it and I hope to get your opinion on it.
Hey man! Wondering whether you would be able to make a comprehensive guide for Unica as well? I'm aware that its not really the most meta deck in Standard, but I love the deck theme but just seem to keep running into problems with trying to figure out an optimised deck list for it.
Accidentally got a set of PBO trying to get DOTE on Dear Days, so I guess I'm playing PBO now Also, is it possible to chapter this? I've been going through this video five times to make sure I absorb the necessary info
For me having Blaster javelin is great cause When You call emmelie you Can sb 1 What You so not much in the deck and check 7 and get Blaster for free so You Can get a nice back row for blaster dark call sac to Double Drive.
Yo what's up, Kelvin here. New to Cardfight, my buddie at work got me into it. Just ordered most of these cards today, was wondering if you could drop a deck list so I can find the rest of the cards I need. Gonna drop a sub as well, thanks for the sauce
Between PBO and Youthberk, which do you think is the better Keter deck right now in the meta? I do think Youthberk has a higher ceiling overall, but that deck can feel so much more piece reliant than PBO. One of the big strengths of PBO is that it doesn’t NEED any pieces to do it’s thing. If you have a hand full of triggers, it can still pull off its effect. Youthberk feels like it needs to see a lot of cards to perform well.
As someone who plays both, I personally think PBO might be better. As you said: Youthberk is more piece-reliant and is more suspectible to being rushed early game since you want to keep those pieces in hand and you likely have more G3s in hand. It also needs CB to do its heavy plays, whereas PBO is free to spend CB and Soul for other skills as it itself doesn't CB.
Thats not entirely true, the deck feels very vanillaish without the promos as your columns swing for low numbers and you dont get the extra drives on blaster dark for more pressure. Youthberk is similar in that regard, all you need is the one revolform to "do your thing" but without sequana and/or dolbraigs next to them for pressure , it feels lackluster at times. I think both decks are good , youthberk being slightly better just because it has more consistent pressure and better handbuilding resources at its disposal. Bang to buck PBO is prob better though , as youthberk is still like double the overall price with Tempest somehow still being around 55-60USD for some absurd reason.
@@hekami7089 I definitely see your point. I do think Youthberk needs more pieces than PBO to do it’s thing, but I guess PBO isn’t that impressive with only triggers.
I Would Say youthberg is maybe better but i dont Know if both Decks Are very mega right now also both Decks Are crazy in price the 8 promos You need for blaster overlord Are Like 30€ each so Like easy 240 Euro youthberg the same skyfall Arms is 20 tempest is 25 schneizel is 20 and gust is easy 20 as well
Sad Here that You Cant cross ride Like Persona ride from Blaster dragon to Blaster over Lord that Would be More fitting for the old deck back in the days feels so Like non climaxing to just ride Blaster Over Lord and take the Card to Soul 😂also the ride Line isnt that great 100 the Blaster on is better calling the wingal out of Your Soul and kill IT is way better Than just throw the top Card of Your deck away

Really appreciate this man. I hope the guides and info I give out is informative to everyone!

This is definitely one of my favorite decks to play atm
YES! FIRST I’VE BEEN WAITING

Once her Masque version comes out :)
what do you think of running wingal brave and little sage marron in the rideline in order to avoid calling triggers and pgs?
This line works too.
Hmmm you can go for two less nemain and run G1 maple simply because persona ride is this good. Diorruing is also great to get more persona ride turns.
Which ot is better for this deck?
Either one works - depending on if you deem your deck decks out too quickly.
Accidentally got a set of PBO trying to get DOTE on Dear Days, so I guess I'm playing PBO now

Does the deck still have a chance to play? I took a beating in a tournament here in Brazil 🙃
