This would have to be my second favorite Mega Man game, 2 being the first. I had this for NES back in the 90’s, and when my copy of Mega Man 2 stopped working (RIP) I played this a lot more (I only rented part 3 but never found a store that sold it, and I borrowed part 1 from a classmate but it was just okay to me). The stages are beautiful, the songs are absolute bangers, the boss designs are top notch, and the charge shot is a welcome addition 👌. I wholeheartedly agree with your pros, and as far as your cons looking back at it the boss patterns are indeed lackluster now that you mention it. Still it felt satisfying to topple Mega Man bosses as a kid, which is all I thought about back then 😂. I did find the respawns after acquiring the tools to be awkward but it’s not too bad. To this day I never knew the hidden E can in Cossack 1 and the breaking the hit boxes of the tako boss with Drill Bomb so those are new to me! I’d also like to add Cossack 3 and 4 stage theme is underrated. Definitely a sleeper hit of Mega Man songs in my book 👍. Awesome video keep it up!
Yeah, for the longest time, people really only paid attention to the first three Mega Man games, while the next three were more obscure, and when they were mentioned, they were often regarded as inferior to the first three. But it seems the Legacy Collection has helped people give these games another look. Mega Man 4 is my favorite of the NES Mega Man games too, by the way.
This review is wonderful, as most of yours are, although I do disagree on Wire and Balloon being kind of pointless, theyre kind of "Back-Up Coils" and i found Balloon especially useful in the Mothriya fight if you take too long, still a great vid tho!
Personally, I think that if Mega Man 3 had the same quality of design as Mega Man 4. It'd have easily been the best Mega Man game of the NES hexalogy. While I do think Mega Man 4 is without a doubt the best Mega Man game on the NES, the one thing I dislike is that this game started the trend of Robot Masters only have 1 weakness and not having the interesting, more variable, weakness tables they did in MM3. Beyond that, MM4 was damn near perfect and definitely worthy of being considered one of the best on pure quality alone.
MM4 does actually have some secondary weaknesses against Robot Masters, just not very many or to the extent of MM2’s and MM3’s weakness tables. I do agree with that bit about MM3 having all the ingredients to be the best one.
I love this channel a lot!! I've bee thinking about my own Mega Man reviews and this is great inspiration! Your Pro/Con system is very cool and i hope you get famous one day!!
I enjoy Mega Man 4 more than the previous three, the OST is good and had the first twist villain introduced to the series. And yeah imo, they could've removed both Rush Jet and Coil and see how the balloon and wire adapters would play out. I've rarely ever hit anything with Dust Crusher's shrapnel,so I rarely use it. Skull Barrier is pretty lame,in Smash 4 it at least relfects projectiles.
Rush Jet should stay because areas like Cossack 2 have sections where it’s needed, but no Rush Coil is interesting. On one hand, it would’ve have made for a MM2-like experience where you start with no utilities and can be rewarded with the many E-Tanks for simply having one on you. But on the other, it would’ve made MM3 the only NES game with pure Rush Coil and that don’t sound right.
That last sentence is where the issue lies. Out of the 4 goodies you can get, E-Tanks are easily the most valuable and powerful, with one E-Tank essentially guaranteeing you a victory against one boss, so there's nothing stopping you from forcing Eddie to always give you E-Tanks.

I loce how shiny they made every platform and background. They look cool and futuristic but not unrealistic
Yooo you’re back with more content for the year!!! I'm interested in how you'll cover Megaman 5 (both versions) of all games.
nico would be proud
Actually He would not like the opinion CUASE he put Mega man 2 and gave this game more for the weapons then in mega man 2
Of course, he is a Thulinist.
Absolutely amazing video, and here's to the next video. Bring an umbrella next time lol.

2:13 Wily teleporting is probably something the devs overlooked, though now I'm wondering whether Wilys a robot or human.

Thanks a ton! If you have time and motivation to do your own Mega Man reviews, you should go for it!
@@demontropolis7742 Alright! I'll try my best! I hope my channel grows along with your's!!

14:20 Also Pharoah Man: Stage taking place during the night…
Mega man 4 isn't my favorite, but it's probably the most well polished.
Wouldn't the Eddie issue be a positive? I mean you can exploit Eddie enough until you get a drop item you want.

Megaman 4? Useful weapons? In what alternate universe?

Neat
Mega Man 4 is the best of all N.E.S. Mega Man games, and the best game in the system.
