Before anything I want to say that I love the show!! But I just don’t get why they cut the scene like that when is two girls, and when Leah and Jeff have sex is different. I don’t mean I want a super explicit scene but come on, this is just making the difference between being gay or straight. It just should be normal for these kind of scenes to show what they mean... independently of the sexual preferences

I’m not defending the unequal treatment of straight to gay relationships on shows, I’m a lesbian myself and I see it happen in shows all the time, however: This show might have been trying to avoid showing specifically lesbian sex because it’s fetishised by men. It’s gross that it happens but it does. I’ve watched movies before filled with sex scenes with two girls just to please the male audience. I guess this show might have been trying to avoid coming off like that.

this is such a late reply that you've probably already seen season 2 and the a lot more intimate scenes that are shown in it but there's also a chance that the actors just may not have been comfortable with showing more especially given that they themselves didn't know that shelby and toni were going to end up together until like a few weeks before filming the episode.
