    On the Dillingham/8th pick trade, the thing that confused me was they were okay taking picks 6 and 7 years out. I assumed they'd want SOME value sooner than that for Wemby.

      Stacking up to trade for a star to pair with Wemby

    • @3KRacing
      @3KRacing 23 дня назад

      2029 Ants contract is up. Dillingham does not project as a star and instead a 6th man. If you can get two potentially top 5 picks for a 6th man is amazing value. Minn doesn't have any FRPs until 2032, they do not have any more assets to trade to improve this team unless it's Gobert, KAT, or McDaniels. This is a chess move and hedging that Minn will not be able to figure this out.

    • @WizardofWestmarch
      @WizardofWestmarch 23 дня назад

      @@3KRacing Right the picks could be very good (caveat the swap is top 1 protected so it can't be quite perfect). I just expected they'd want picks slightly sooner to build around Wemby now instead of focusing on assets that will help them continue to dominate later. You build those up once you're up and running.
      The big question for me is how tradeable are those picks for more win sooner-ish pieces (like maybe they could get some draft capital that comes due sooner from OKC with their million picks and pretty filled out roster, because they DO need to spread out their assets more).

    • @Shortballa11
      @Shortballa11 23 дня назад

      @@3KRacing you not lying bt this is the kicker. If Minnesota doesn’t work out then they trade KAT and get back at least 3 first round picks and Naz Reid replaced him. They got Dillingham to learn under Mike Conley while they have him cuz he is an injury away from retirement. He getting old.

    • @colesmith193
      @colesmith193 23 дня назад

      @@3KRacingthey have 1st round picks in even years, so 2026, 2028 and 2030. You can’t trade consecutive 1sts. I think it’s kind of stupid to not add more young talent right now to develop alongside Wemby for a 1st 7 years from now.

  • @nicholasbraxton1342

    This is a great trade for the Knicks. The Knicks still have plenty of picks in the chamber even though a lot of them are protected, they are fairly young and, they have assets if they had to make another move. This move lets me know the Knicks are all in on Jalen Brunson. They are building around Jalen Brunson and, that's rightfully so. Jalen Brunson is a top 10 player in the NBA. The Knicks are confident in their star and, the overall makeup of their team. I believe Mikal Bridges will have his best season with the Knicks. Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and, Donte DiVincenzo have all had their best seasons with the Knicks. I believe Mikal Bridges will get back to his all NBA defensive form and, I believe Bridges will be more efficient with the Knicks. I also like this move for OG to have another great defender with him. I want to see Julius Randle make a step in the postseason. Julius Randle is a very underappreciated player. If Julius Randle can play like he does in the regular season, The Knicks are dangerous. The last two postseasons Julius Randle was hurt, I want to see how he plays when healthy.The Knicks have great size, depth and, they have better spacing. I believe the Knicks can compete for a championship.

      @@cooldude7821 Yeah he does have to get it going in the playoffs but, this season he was hurt and, the year before that he played but was injured. Also with the trade he doesn't have to do as much. Brunson can score at a high level and Mikal Bridges and, OG is good from the perimeter. I want to see if they keep Hartenstein

      @@cooldude7821 You have a fair point about Randle but, if Hartenstein walks they would have the money to pay Randle. Sam Presti doesn't typically give out large free agent deals. It will be interesting to see what Hartenstein does. I wonder if he takes less to resign with the Knicks. The Knicks could get another player or recoup some assets by trading Randle but, I don't know if that makes sense though

      Where did bridges play the last year and a half? A broken down and depleted franchise that forced him to be their main offensive weapon.
      2 years ago he was runner up for dpoy. He’s no longer having to carry a team and will be playing alongside another elite defensive wing in OG. He’ll be fine now being the 2nd and 3rd option.
