I genuinely think that Megatron saw, at least subconsciously, of Orion Pax and Optimus Prime as different people. One his brother, and the other his mortal enemy. Orion Pax was the only one who understood Megatron's vision of Cybertron and supported him genuinely as a brother, not out of fear, idol worship, or selfish pragmatism. Then, he became a Prime, a symbol of the old order that Megratron seeked to destroy. Like how Obi Wan saw Vader as two different people whom one, "murdered" the other. It all depends "from a certain point of view." Optimus likely sees it the same way, but in a less deranged and "pointing the finger" way.
Bayverse movies never actually addressed their past relationship except for this one scene. I'm really happy that the reboot will dive deep into their brotherly bond

They had very different views on how to go forward towards the future Orion wanted a safe path to a prosperous future but Megatron consumed by his hatred for a corrupt government wanted to completely/forcefully tear it down with his one sided view of justice.
Transformers prime was so good 😢, the animation, action, storyline, character arc everything was perfect. Transformers has so much potential and good stories it will be so good if we get see this in live action movies 😢
