I think it's cool to see you picking up the character to start. It gives a baseline for people like "Hey this might be what it's like for you when you start." And then you can share the tips and tricks that you learn as you get good with the character. Then again, I'm down to watch pretty much whatever Deadlock content you put out so maybe I'm not the person to ask. Lol.
I really like that you try to learn a new character every week, your input helps me play characters I haven't touched yet and prepare me to learn it from a better pov. Haven't got the hang on Gheist yet, but I can see Yamato's playstyle be right on my alley. Keep up the good work on Deadlock, TrikSlyr!
Not a yamato specialist here, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Rushing torment pulse so early might be a little self-sabotaging. Dont get me wrong it is indeed a really strong item on her, but delaying to properly fill out your build with 1,2k/500 items really hinders your ability to apply early pressure and "win" the lane. 500/1,2k items are just way too cost efficient to skip so nonchalantely. Keep up the good work, hope to see some "Impregnator" Dynamo :)
Some tips: - you should definitely be using her right click WAY more during laning phase whenever you're trying to harass/trade. It's much easier to land than left click and far more rewarding in terms of damage. - there are three techs you should learn related to her 1 (Power Slash), particularly for poking during lane. I won't explain them but it's easy to google them. In order of usefulness: dash slash, mantle slash, and zipline slash - another right click tip: you can right click into light melee very quickly for a nice burst of damage. You should look to do this whenever you're on top of someone or just after using your 2. - I think you're using heavy melee too much with her. The goal should be to weave in light melees as described in my previous tip - not egregious, but I noticed a couple instances where you could have charged your one more before firing in order to get more damage. 3:10 and 3:57 are good examples. Just note that you're only doing 64 damage with that slash. Note that you can basically do the same amount of damage with a single right click - your 1 has a really wonky hitbox that you can take advantage of. It's very easy to hit people who are behind cover by just aiming a bit beyond the cover so that her little shadow form goes past it. It's a little hard to explain but you'll know it when you see it - not as valuable as the other tips, but you can cancel your 2 and do so pretty wild movement tech/jukes Most of this comes from me watching FredTheFinch so definitely check him out, he has lots of good Yamato content in particular
I think the biggest thing is just going to be landing fully charged 1's and how to position for those. There is some tech to learn, I know the main one is a 2 - heavy melee - right click - 3 -1, but it all happens within like 1.5 seconds. I saw someone else use Cold Front, which gives spirit power, a slow, an aoe to farm and can also be worked into that previous combo. They also used headhunter since your left click has some spread and is a bit easier to get head shots. Best of luck man, I enjoyed the Gheist games, it'll be interesting to see how you've improved a week from now.
Rush to full upgrade your 1 first thing. Its your strongest ability aside from ult. At 3k when you first get your ult, it enables you to be supper aggressive on lane. Please fully charge your 1 instead of cancelling it early.
One thing that kind of bothers me about Yamato (in that "omg literally unplayable" sort of way) is that she's supposed to be a Japanese-inspired character but her ult has Greek omega symbol... But i appreciate you trying out new characters. And I'm looking forward to this week long 'deep dive' where you try to figure the character out. Maybe you could do one video on which you analyze some high MMR match, kind of like you did with Bebop? That could be interesting.
So I love the new character each week I would like a ability breakdown if possible at tue beginning and a pan of the build your going for as well but love the videos keep it up trik!!!
Oh nice, i'm a yamato 1 trick so it's nice to see you give her a try. when you are laning, you can use your 1 near a corner and still have a bit of move speed, this will let you charge it and then shoot it off without them seeing. hope that tip helps.

Well said!

u really need to press 1 once and then dont touch it to let it fully charge when you get full points into it, and make it a habit
I think it's cool to see all aspects, like how you learn a character and adjust the build to fit different situations, abilities and counters.

I think a new character every Tuesday is a good idea
Hell yeah dude, respect on not one tricking. I hate that shit. This is real gamin
I've switched my character every week!
@@TrikSlyr no for sure! It’s nice to see a Channel not spam the same character. You’re versatile it’s refreshing to watch
Looking forward to watching the skill development this week.
Also, I like the into to the new character video. It sets a good baseline with the character to build from.

My soul hurts watching so many blue 1's fired off in the first 10 minutes instead of fully charging
Make sure to sub over at twitch.tv/trikslyr I'm nailing them RIGHT NOW

I like the intro to a new hero idea
Yamahto yamayto tomahto tomayto. If you get an instructor, you'll be Trainslyr, tough early game vs Ivy for sure.
If your going to magic carpet on Yamato pick up Hunter's aura and use carpet to pick your 1v1s
well played
I was the one who suggested her and Tim put on the wheel. I think he will enjoy her play style.
I also definitely do NOT recommend any guy Yammato build rn, you should focus spirit
Lol
Can some one switch with me ( crickets). Feels bad man
