they dnt get pregnant. they lay eggs. the male holds them in a pouch to incubate them. like the stickleback fish that has a pouch in its mouth for larvae until they grow.
I FOUND IT! I remember watching this when I was 9, the first time i found out male seahorses are actually the ones who gives birth. I'm now 20 yrs old btw
Sometimes as humans we forget that everything we know about reproduction, attraction, femininity, and masculinity is human knowledge. We often project our knowledge onto other species, in religion, in literature, and art, and treat it as true, forgetting that nature is infinite, evolution is, there are millions of possibilities with DNA, almost no limit on size, shape, texture, color, weight, height, or way of communicating. The only requirement in evolution is that a creature can survive its environment, no requirement of how it does.
I like how the thumbnail for this video is a picture of a man with the title "Fathers that give birth" And in your head your like "no freaking way!' And you watch the video and it's about sea horses
You don't care, because you don't understand and don't have any interest in understanding how it all connects to you personally and to us humans generally. Your pov is not just selfish, but dangerous.
I think somebody is just giving the wrong names to the sea horses, just for the sake to say that males can give birth too…. What makes a female sea horse female? Is not the ability to carry new life? Also, the “female” sea horse is dropping eggs, where are those eggs fertilized?
Actually, Males have the Female animal’s Organ and The Female does is She gives the eggs to the male’s V*gina and the Male waits for it to get fertilized inside his body and after a few moments baby seahorses Get Out Of daddy’s V*gina
I understand what you're saying. The seahorses may well die, but and this is critical - it looks like we're partly the cause of it. It's not just one species or even a genus, but scores of species across the planet that are having trouble - this is only one. What bothers me isn't this one group going extinct - it's the glib way we justify it in SO MANY cases.
its been a year so maybe you know now, but thats not how it works. gender is determined by a number of things, one of them being sperm and eggs. males still have sperm, and females still have eggs. seahorse reproduction is basically the opposite of how we do it, instead of the male depositing sperm into the female, the female deposits eggs into the male. the eggs are then fertilized and develop from there
Yeah! actually it does, the reason why they are endangered is because of POLLUTION FROM OIL SPILLS IN THE OCEAN! DUH! Maybe you should think before you comment
I never attributed those words to you. Maybe someone else, but not me. I understand what you're saying - and Frodo : "I know what you would say, and it would sound like wisdom, but for the warning in my heart."
I never knew that male seahorses dilever the baby not the female tell i saw this vedio. Wow , what if the human male does the dilivery instead of the woman !!!
I really wonder why seahorse looks like that. Is it another branch in evolution where horses used to be marine mammals? You know, just like in the game SPORE. You create your creature that is supposed to live in water and some time after, it will migrate off the water and to the dry soils. Do you think that that is possible?

Who hasn't seen a seahorse lol
Is anyone watching this in 2021?
I think, im not the only one..
Because the famele produces the baby put give it to the male to fertilizie it.
They looks like dragon
Its the Mother who put the baby seahorse to the father sea horse so it look like the father give birth but in reality its not
The father does give birth to the little babies, are you blind or just not watching the video?
Who organize like this?
Not many people believe this doc was ever produced and aired on live television.

just you wait till all the rats go extinct or even bees
They find one and put it back and do the same thing what if it’s the same one all over again?

These are one of the coolest type of fish.
wow 35 species and most of them look so pretty
seahorses are the slowest sea annimals in the world. you swim quite a lot faster than seahorses
to the people who don’t know that seahorses exist please study all the animals under the sea or the animals who’re living under the sea.
wow i didnt know the female gives the egg to the male to carry it
Wow I thought they were huge creatures . That’s why people don’t think they are real because biologist exaggerate their size . They are figure size .
interesting
We must protect the seahorses
Its pretty "rare" but it is true and interesting.
Islam is the light!!

so u saying because its a male he can protect them better and they come out stronger

But question is that ...
How male get pregnant.......

I’m the only person I’m watching this in 2018
im in 2019 november ,3
so wouldnt the "male horse" actually be the female one??
seahorses are so pretty...
I mean you define a creatures gender based on who gets pregnant and gives birth , so by definition a male seahorse is actually female seahorse.
No male Seahorse is actually male!
Males are made to make babies with Females.
Even Viruses make babies or let's sY copies of themselves
its been a year so maybe you know now, but thats not how it works. gender is determined by a number of things, one of them being sperm and eggs. males still have sperm, and females still have eggs. seahorse reproduction is basically the opposite of how we do it, instead of the male depositing sperm into the female, the female deposits eggs into the male. the eggs are then fertilized and develop from there
So do sea horses have a purpose in nature?
If im correct millions of the shrimp are born, so seahorses keep that population in check.
*2019*
Explain this to your god.
"no offensive"?
I don't think anyone here is a seahorse.
You have to admire Mother Nature.
jake5fiend I actually want to know what they are then..Please tell me (This comment isn't against you, I really want to know)
didn't know it was a fish though..
