    So many of us get hung up on sweeps and submissions but this kind of stuff is foundational and must be mastered before offense

    Great video!!! I'm starting to use de la Riva guard as I have long legs. Quick question: When your opponent back steps like on your video to do a knee bar and you bring your knee in like you illustrated, can you then take his back instead of the sweep you did? Can you hook your right leg in as he sits on your left shin and grab his belt and pull him down to take his back, would that work from the angle you were in?

      Wow, just reviewed your sweep, it's very effective as you can easily take his back when he's down because you still control his left arm. Great stuff, oss
