I know that this video is a lot more "controversial" than my usual content, simply by having Tate in it, but I just want to clarify, this is not a "pro" or "anti" Tate video, this is simply me reacting to his thoughts about the future of content creators and A.I.
I support some of the things he talks about and I strongly disagree with many of them, but your views on the "messenger" should not affect how you view the "message" in this case.
I believe most of my viewers are intelligent enough to understand this and obviously if he ever got convicted with evidence of some of the serious allegations and cases against him, I would take this video down and not give him a platform, but as of today that is not the case.

I have directed and shot lots of corporate movies spectacles and real live events. This type of video creation won't be affected for the moment. However I already use AI for background creation and other thing to work quicker and more efficient. I agree however that for shooting commercials or other creative footage AI is sufficient because these type of videos don't need a reference to a specific person or event.

Find videos on RUclips with Sam Altman, Elon musk, Geoffrey Hinton, ex Google wi engineers, all talking about the risks and concerns about the possible outcomes regarding AI. AGI is only a few years away. After that AI will surpass all of human beings intelligence. AI collects all data from humans but can then analyse it and come up with information that humans could never have thought of. So it creates new data. The creator will certainly not be superior to AI.

Former Playstation CEO said interesting stuff about AI: "AI only sees in one direction, which is backwards. It puts stuff together to make you think you're seeing forward, but you're really not, you're just seeing a rehash of backward. AI is kind of like the really eager intern that you can say: 'they give me nine pages on something' and they're like 'sure boss' and they crank it out. But you do have to fact check. AI hallucinates and goes off the rails"
Thus AI is just another tool. It's like knowing a new software in addition to Premiere and After Effects. I don't see any big deal with this.

AI won't replace anyone anytime soon. If there's anything I learned over recent times, people can't be that precise with their needs to get AI to give them what they want before the RNN Memory forgets what was going on to begin with
The problem isn't just with the tool inaccuracy sometimes, it's also with the user not knowing exactly what they need
Multiple times it guided me into unwanted depths of hell in programming, when the solution to my problem was much simpler, or significantly different, than what it did
Did it get some basic concepts correct? Yes, but when it comes to extremely advanced stuff, and you don't know what you're doing, you best believe AI will take you astray, if you're not careful

Content is a human experience. The minute no human no longer creates any content eg. A robot creates content and humans are watching promts that, let’s say is also created by a chat bot automation. Then soon it will become a repeat and generic. So I don’t think content creation perse is dead. Live music, theatre, shows, fashion, parades, circus, ballet, dance and exhibitions won’t be replaced and the need to show and capture content from these and other types of events will be needed even if the camera man can use less expensive equipment and more Ai assisted editing etc. Many artists throughout history has let galleries, record labels, now Spotify etc. screw them over, but these times more than ever, we have a chance of not needing these middle men. And therefore it’s not just a matter of keeping up with the latest technology, but time to lead the way for other artists to follow something that will benefit us, rather than just putting more money in corporate pockets

I will use AI to my advantage but I dont think it will replace real footage anytime soon at least not in the next 3 years, thats why editors should still go out and learn how to shoot and add that skill to their skillset

Just how much does he knows about all that stuff in the first place?
Screenwriting, filming and editing requires a lot of skills to master.
They also requires a lot of creativity to be used well. AI cannot be creative. They need a mind behind it. And creativity is developed over time, trial and error, not just by lifting fingers.
A professional filmmaker with one camera from the 70s will still make a way better movie than an average guy with AI.
And no matter how well the AIs will do well: there will always need a human behind, to tell him what to do (requires skills in prompting AND an expertise in video making) and to check what it did right and wrong.
Like, if an average guy doesn't know shit about lightning, how will he tells the AI to uses the right lightning? Try and pray?

nice message bro, i thought about this too in the back of my head but didnt take it tat serious to look into it and use ai as a tool for my filmmaking. tbh its also a bit a shitty feel to see those ai generated things thinking "it took me so long to learn to create this and that and now it´s made just like this!!!" but yes definetly use it as a tool.
    appriciate the message.

So what AI program edits video automatically adding transition effects etc? Is it out yet or is there still room for editors being creative and understanding the content.

In Premiere Pro, you can trim out silences, remix music to better fit a timeline and enhance someone's speech using their AI features. Still a long way to go, but I'm sure soon Adobe or some video editing software will figure it out.

AI can't replace editors cuz who's gonna put all the AI clips together? AI won't ever be able to spit out a perfect 1 hour and 30 minutes movie, someone has to tell the story. Overall AI won't replace anyone since only the Filmmakers know how to control it properly dw.

AI can make things easier but not all things will be replace. Computer can think almost all probability but we need to chose one per scenario. We can't rely on AI when we want to shoot a church wedding, garden wedding and or any events. AI is like a genie our wish is there command but we need to prevent it take over us by not giving them too much power and a bad conscience

Original videos will be the "hand made" of the content creating world. You would pay more for them. They will be part of royal membership. But yeah, if someone feels irreplaceable, the graves are full of irreplaceable people.

ai is coming for camera men too. pretty soon your guy wont need to hire you to shoot an interview. he will just plonk a couple of ai mesh ptz cams which will all talk to each other, pull the best shots and do live video switching with no human intervention. they will also apply virtual lighting and do audio cleanup. he will be able to connect to the whole mesh of cameras over bluetooth and have a slider to control shot dynamics and virtual lighting mood.

You Vince, like Tate, do not know anything about video creation, if you believe Sora is going to replace camera men/videographers/etc.
Please explain how can AI create a 3 minutes 4K video filmed in RAW (that's about 2GB/minute)? Can you explain how will this be possible taking into consideration that millions of people around the world will want to create similar movies since it will be so easy to do, right?
How will AI deal with such gigantic resources requests?

    • @vinceopra
      @vinceopra  2 месяца назад

I don't think the camera man/videographer part was the main point, just more so implementing it in your workflow to skip the simple tasks.
I also think that filmmakers will be around for a while, just don't be ignorant to the technology and keep up to date with it. That's all, not that deep.
