I waxed my arms and armpit and it went fine, it was more painful than soft wax and I was red but could be worse. After trying it couple of times I was like I got a hold of this and I tried waxing my bikini area (bad idea). As I said before my hair is really thick. So I applied in at the very top and small area when I pulled it was extremely painful. I should have stopped there but my dumb a** was like let's try it one more time. I went a little lower than before and covered more area than before. I got the lip part of the hard wax and as I started to pull it was so painful. I’m going to do it again though even though I only made it halfway through the first time lmao, I’m determined to get past that mental block and haven’t learned from my mistakes yet 😂
I got the soft wax just today. What I learned was: 1.) You NEED to glide soft wax on very thinly, too much will not pull out hairs, but make it very gooey/sticky and a wasted cloth strips. 2.) You need to get the Numbing spray/cream. It helps. 3.)Get an extra bottle of Wax Remover. Get cloth-like paper towels(not the cheap tissue paper-y kind, thicker is better, trust me). Soft wax is like trying to get thick honey off. The remover softens this up so it wipes of easily. 4.) If buying the Trial sizes kit, buy more strips. There’s plenty in the kit, extra is more preparation. 5.)You need the powder. I still had a few hairs left, I think that powder is necessary. I’m going to pick it up tomorrow along with the Slow Grow that slows down re-growth. 6.) pre cleaner before you start anything smells basically like isopropyl alcohol. 6.) Buy extra wooden sticks for applications. Don’t Double Dip. Hairs WILL get into your pot. Contamination. But if it’s just you, I guess whatever you choose. BUY MORE STICKS, though. -if I learn more about this personally, I’ll edit this. I haven’t tried the hard wax, I bought the beads but my kit is soft wax and the can it came with is soft wax, I didn’t know I had to buy an empty van for the hard wax beads for the wax heater-thing. I also need to look into how to clean a hard wax can after use, after I use only what I need, then sanitize for next use.

Hi, so I have been getting waxed since I was 16 years old. It started out as just the lip but then it moved to different places on the face and now I have to get a full face wax which includes under the chin toward the neck. Hair, sadly, runs in my family. My Mother, Grandmother, aunts, cousins, etc. I had been seeing the same woman for over 30 years. We had a falling out some years ago and it's been very hard finding someone that I trust. I've had 2 women burn me to the point that I have a scar by the right side of my mouth, and my right eyebrow, the right corner side doesn't have hair grow there anymore. I had been seeing 1 woman who did an ok job, but got upset with me when I told her I wanted to return her skin products and gave me an ultimatum; keep the stuff & keep me or return the stuff & I won't wax you anymore. This last girl, I liked her a lot and she quit. The last person I went to not knowing it, but can do a full face but not the cheeks. She can do the side urns but not the cheeks. I've tried a few times to do it myself but it didn't go very well. There is a kit called, " Gigi At Home Beginner Waxing Starter Kit." I was thinking of purchasing that to try doing it myself again. Watching your video, I wander if this Hard Wax would be better. What are your thoughts??
Oh no, I'm so sorry that happened! I would definitely not recommend GiGi, hate that wax! I recommend Mermaid Wax Signature Series. They have Starter Kits as well: mermaidwax.com/collections/retail-customers-non-licensed
I waxed my belly for the first time using a hard wax and noticed stretch marks on it after waxing. I do not remember that I had stretch marks there. Could the wax have caused it by tearing the skin? It is called e-Wax Titan for sensitive skin and has these components written on it: Glyceryl rosinate, Parrafin, Hydrogenated, Microcrystalline, Wax, Parrafinum, Titanium Dioxide. Made in China... Thank you.
I've never heard of waxing causing stretch marks? I'm not familiar with that wax but if it's made in China, it's definitely not a high quality wax. I only use Mermaid Wax
Hi thank you foe this video, very useful 👍👍👍👍. I have a question , Can we use the rest of the wax again. I mean how many times we can warm it up and how ro refill after using the wax on a client. Please make a video that will be great. Thank you ❤️
Of course you can use the rest of the wax. Just be sure to use a different paddle stick each time you get wax to apply on your client. That way you don’t put a used (contaminated... dirty) paddle stick back into the clean wax. That way there can’t be any cross contamination. Hope that helped.
I go to my lady that uses soft wax for Brazilian. Let me tell you she is the best. All places that use hard wax want to service in 15 minutes and leave ingrowns🤮. My lady in San Diego takes her time therefore all the hair is out.
I’ve just learned waxing and my tutor taught me to apply hard wax against the hair and remove against. When I look online everyone is doing with and then against. Was I taught wrong or can it be done like this?
I used hard wax and it was horrible cuz it was sticky like gumm when I pull it off it was camin in pieces not the whole wax strip it was in pieces.. did I did something wrong??? 🤔
I was getting AWFUL ingrowns from hard wax that I never got using soft wax. Is there an explanation for that? I didn’t change anything in my post wax care routine but the hard wax was giving me painful, chronic ingrowns that left scars.
@@errorpaige that makes sense. It's the style of waxing they do. I worked there for 2 years and my clients got lots of ingrowns. There's a way to speed wax and not break all the hairs but working there it happens all the time. Find a small business instead. Or waxing the city. I prefer working with them and their wax.
I've only ever waxed my eyebrows and upper lip and it prefer soft wax as you can be more precise with it and it gets the finer hairs. I'm going to try waxing my legs and other areas and I'll give hard wax a try first. The only place I've ever gone to for a full body wax always left me sticky and still full of hair using hard wax as well so I stopped going.
witch is better? hard or soft wax for upper arm hair for men? I don't care about the pain part, its what will work best for me are my thoughts, I've had both soft with paper and soft witch I still want the paper for the hard wax to easier rip it off, the soft wax with the paper was extremely painful!, but I think it got more hair off for longer however the hard wax is not a good for my supper sensitive skin but I think it got more hair off from a beautician
Can hard wax be used for eyebrows? I do men’s hair mostly and in my shop we have both soft and hard wax, we use the hard wax for nostrils and soft wax for brows. I would like to know if one is better for fine hair and one is better for coarse hair, and if I have a male client with very coarse thick brows would hard wax be the way to go? (I ask this bc sometimes when I use the soft wax on coarse thick brows it doesn’t all come up on the strip and sometimes is all gooey and less effective, maybe I’m applying the wax wrong but I would love to know this!!) thank you in advance ❤️ your videos are extremely helpful and thoroughly informative and I really appreciate your content!! ☺️
Which is better for individuals who are prone to ingrown hair? I shave my legs and I make sure to exfoliate before, but I still end up with ingrowns. Any tips?
Is it true that the hair gets thinner over time with consistent waxing? Because my pubic hair is so thick it’s crazy… and I get a lot of ingrowns too… even if it just gets slightly thinner I’d be happy haha
Which one takes off more hair , i have been using soft wax for many years , tomorrow probably I'm going to try the hard one, i hope it will remove hair as much as the soft one does
What is your opinion on "painless wax"? I know it's not actually painless but I'm curious what you have to say on the matter. Also what heat should I apply my wax?
Hello you said you can't go over an area twice with the soft wax, could you use hard wax and then the soft wax after to get whatever hairs are left over?
Excellent review, I wish I would have seen this sooner LOL!! Fortunately, I only did a couple of test areas, now I know what to buy. Thanks you so much!! You are awesome at explaining all this.
Is sugar supposed to be applied against the growth and pulled off with the growth ? My friend says her esthetician applies with the growth and removes against the growth , like waxing. I told her I had read and heard to apply against the growth and remove with the growth . My friend’s esthetician uses Alexandria Sugar and products . She’s been getting broken hairs after sugaring . I think it’s from improper technique. Thank you 😊
I find when getting waxed with soft wax my skin gets darker with alot of fine bruises by the bikini line or sometimes on the area of my private so now I went and purchased myself some hard wax and try it out for myself at home instead of going again to get soft wax used on me again
Hi there I have a concern! I watched all of your videos on waxing because I wanted to get a Brazilian and I was nervous, due to never getting one before. I immediately opted for hard wax due to the information that you shared. I got Brazilians with only hard wax for the first 4 months, and found myself pretty unsatisfied. There seemed to always be hairs left behind, and hairs growing back in as little as 6 to 8 days. The estheticians I got told me that I just needed to get all of my hair follicles on the same grow cycle but it didn't seem to be coming together. The first 3 times I went to EWC, then the 4th time I found someone else who had 12 years of experience and used hard wax, and still felt rather unsatisfied. Then, I decided to try a soft wax Brazilian to compare. I noticed right away that it seemed to hurt WAY LESS. I still felt like some hair was left behind though, and like the hairs were growing back sooner than what I researched was normal. Why could I be having this experience? Am I just seeing inexperienced waxers?
Amber French why don’t u let it the hair all grow out. I know that if some of the hairs are less then 1/4 inch they are too short to be waxed. That’s what I did and I also had some ingrown hair issues too
@@Alexandra-fr1rz thank you so much for the tip! I have already tried that though, and it didn't work unfortunately. Hopefully I get some answers soon! But still, thank you so much for your time. 😁😇
Hi... waxing is personal to each individual, and what 1 person prefers, another will not. Our hairs do grow at different stages, so you need to make sure that you let the area grow before getting waxed (probably the worst thing when it comes to waxing, especially in the summer!).. but everyone has a different growth rate, so there's no 1 answer for when you'll notice re-growth after being waxed. However, the good news is that the more you get waxed, the longer the hair regrowth will be. I had to get my underarms waxed every week in the beginning, whereas now I can go weeks & weeks, well, months!! Don't get me wrong, not all of the hairs were coming through after 1 week, but it was my preference to keep on top of them. The main benefit of waxing is that the hairs grow back softer and finer.. they're pulled from the root so don't have that awful stubbly feel when they grow back through, like you get with shaving & hair removal creams..! As a professional, I treat ALL areas I wax as if they were eyebrows, and will tweeze any left over hairs to give a completely "clean" finish... 😉👍 I would also ALWAYS recommend getting waxed professionally.. it's not enough to learn from a video and then wax yourself.. for example, strips/wax MUST be pulled parallel to the skin and not in an upwards motion (professionals will know what i mean..)... Just be VERY careful if doing at-home waxing 🙏 And be patient... it's sooo worth it in the end... 😉👍 xxx
@@natalielane1786 hello, some can’t afford the salon costs and that’s probably why there are so many buying kits and what have you to do it themselves. Also, I hate having to stretch and pull at my eyelids when they’re threading my eyebrows. I’m sure it can’t be good to pull at the eye area like that it’s like you’re trying to rip your own skin open 😧
I am in a “DIY Brazilian Wax” phase and have both soft and hard wax home kits. I used the soft wax a few months ago and had no issues. I used the hard wax about a week ago and already have SO MUCH regrowth! My hair was long enough, the wax was a good consistency, I pulled parallel, etc. however my hard wax results are WAY inferior to those with soft wax! Also, both were equally painful - and I’d venture to say that the hard wax is more stressful because, once it hardens (which is quite fast!), you have no choice but to rip it off. I applied wax to a particularly sensitive area however didn’t like the way I smoothed the wax on. Since it was hard wax, I just had to go for it. Had it been soft, I could have washed it away. (I know you can remove hard wax but it’s tricky and difficult).
Hi Christin. I have a question. How many grams of wax beads would i need to wax a 110 pound women with small bones , medium height. lets say for one area such as a single lower leg
So do you recommend hard wax over the whole body? I recently got waxed (chest, back, stomach, arms) and she used only hard wax. 4 weeks later I’m FINALLY seeing relief from ingrown hairs. I don’t remember all these ingrowns last time and I think that place used more soft wax. Granted that was years ago… maybe part of the problem. Also my hair is a little thinner now from laser- still recommend hard wax?
It could have been how she waxed you, the post wax care that was used, if you sweated soon after the appt, etc. There are many factors that I would have to know to be sure!
I never knew about the difference between hard and soft wax. I’ve only used soft at home for years. Early on I got dark spots from going over an area more than once. Definitely gonna try hard wax going forward. Thanks so much.

I got the soft wax just today. What I learned was:
1.) You NEED to glide soft wax on very thinly, too much will not pull out hairs, but make it very gooey/sticky and a wasted cloth strips.

Great video! Thank you for sharing. I've used both and strangely I found the hard wax more painful, especially in certain areas. I prefer the soft. x
Thanks for sharing!
I only use Mermaid Wax
are there certain areas that soft and hard wax should be used or can you preform a whole body wax including face with all soft and or all hard wax .
My lady in San Diego takes her time therefore all the hair is out.

thanks i had a bad problem with skin lifting when i used soft wax so i am going to try hard wax.
Hi! What hard wax would you recommend for people waxing at home? Thanks!!
She mentions it @4:56
Mermaid wax
Gigi is great
😂😂😂😂 I just made a similar video because of the same reason as you 😂😩😩. I’m glad you made one as well.
Is it true it's better to press than rub? I thought rubbing with soft wax can damage the skin?
Your videos are super helpful every time. Thank youuuuu!
I’ve just learned waxing and my tutor taught me to apply hard wax against the hair and remove against. When I look online everyone is doing with and then against. Was I taught wrong or can it be done like this?
Hello may I ask if do you use hard wax all the time on you clients? Or do you just use it on specific areas and soft for the other areas.
I only use hard wax.
So how long before you start to see hair regrowth after using hard or soft wax?
About a week. But educate on exfoliation to avoid ingrown hair infections/cellulitis, ect.
Is it possible that you're breaking the hairs?
@@alainaluu I have no idea. I go to a salon that only does wax service so I’d think they should know what they’re doing??
@@errorpaige is it a major chain? Or a smaller business?
@@alainaluu major chain, European wax center. I saw two different waxers over the course of a year and ingrowns happened with both
@@errorpaige that makes sense.
Can u use both on your legs ?
witch is better? hard or soft wax for upper arm hair for men? I don't care about the pain part, its what will work best for me are my thoughts, I've had both soft with paper and soft witch I still want the paper for the hard wax to easier rip it off, the soft wax with the paper was extremely painful!, but I think it got more hair off for longer however the hard wax is not a good for my supper sensitive skin but I think it got more hair off from a beautician
Hard wax always
What’s the difference between muslin strips and cloth strips? Are you able to use both with soft wax?
Hello 👋 using the same wax and spatula with clients what about infections?
Always use a different stick with each strip you lay.
What temperature do you recommend to get the hard wax have a good viscosity?
Hi. I have very coarse underarm hairs. I get armpit boils regularly.
Which wax is good for me? Hard or soft?
I would definitely only use hard wax!
@@hissnkittenwaxing 😊 thank you
Is there a roll on machine that takes in hard wax beans?
No, it's not possible to have a roll on cartridge that is hard wax.
Does it hurt
Which one is best hard wax or soft wax???
Which is better for individuals who are prone to ingrown hair? I shave my legs and I make sure to exfoliate before, but I still end up with ingrowns.
Any tips?
Hard wax 100%
Thanks so much for all this great information! Very thoroughly explained!
Is it true that the hair gets thinner over time with consistent waxing? Because my pubic hair is so thick it’s crazy… and I get a lot of ingrowns too… even if it just gets slightly thinner I’d be happy haha
Hard wax or sugar scrub for a Brazilian? The place I go to only uses sugar scrub and it hurts when they rub it on. Which one hurts less?
I favorate hard wax but I think that soft wax is better for short hair
Which one takes off more hair , i have been using soft wax for many years , tomorrow probably I'm going to try the hard one, i hope it will remove hair as much as the soft one does
What is your opinion on "painless wax"? I know it's not actually painless but I'm curious what you have to say on the matter. Also what heat should I apply my wax?
I’m trying to learn more about waxing cuz I’m just sick and tired of the huge bumps I get when I shave. It’s not cute.
Totally understand!
Which soft wax Brand is good??
I recommend Mermaid Wax. They have 2 types of soft wax, Athena and Persephone. mermaidwax.com/collections/soft-wax
Hello you said you can't go over an area twice with the soft wax, could you use hard wax and then the soft wax after to get whatever hairs are left over?
You would have to tweeze unfortunately.
Excellent review, I wish I would have seen this sooner LOL!! Fortunately, I only did a couple of test areas, now I know what to buy. Thanks you so much!! You are awesome at explaining all this.
Awesome explanation of this! Gonna go with hard wax.
Oh no! I only recommend using hard wax.
i had a harder time with hard wax rather than soft wax. anything on that??
Hard wax is more of an art, using soft wax is much easier. However, once you get the hang of hard wax, you will be in love!
So what do you prefer to use? The hard or the other one
Wish I saw this sooner 😢❤
Aw, well at least you saw it now!
is hard wax safe to use on your face
Yes!
Hii can hard wax remove fine hair!???
Will hard wax work for very coarse hair?
I would also ALWAYS recommend getting waxed professionally.. it's not enough to learn from a video and then wax yourself.. for example, strips/wax MUST be pulled parallel to the skin and not in an upwards motion (professionals will know what i mean..)... Just be VERY careful if doing at-home waxing 🙏
And be patient... it's sooo worth it in the end...
Does it pain when we do of hands , legs , underarms when we do waxing for the first time
Yes, you're pulling hair from the root so it will definitely be uncomfortable. But it gets easier with time!
Which one do you feel is more effective In terms of having a cleaner look?
I only use hard wax
@@hissnkittenwaxing for sure ! thank you !
hello ma'am, how to prevent chicken skin and ingrown hair?
I have videos for this if you look through my channel :)
Hi Christin. I have a question. How many grams of wax beads would i need to wax a 110 pound women with small bones , medium height. lets say for one area such as a single lower leg
It's hard to saw but probably half a pound.
What about using non woven wax strips..its not cotton muslin, is that what you were holding up
Do you need to prep the skin differently with soft vs hard wax?
Same!
What causes bruising when waxing.
How do I purchase your products
mermaidwax.com
I used to wax myself with stickers when I was little lol 😂
Haahaha this is awesome
Which hurts more
Love your video and your information. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
I had a question i had a wax Written on it for professional use only how can i use it
I have the problem with video as well it keep stop a few minutes
What if with soft wax ur hair doesn’t cmg out at time??? N u cant apply again n how to remove left over hair???
Nope, you can only go over the same area once with soft wax.
Which one is good for bikini waxing soft or hard
Can you please suggest good wax warmer for soft and hard wax both?
Is the wax harmful to the environment?
Is it possible to buy the mermaid wax
Absolutely! www.mermaidwax.com
hello ,will anything happen if your armpit hair is long and you wax it at home
Definitely sold me on hard wax. Taking my soft wax kit back to Sally’s today
Are there's a different warmer for hard wax and a soft wax? Thanks
Nope, they can be used in the same warmer.
