Congratulations on a job well done - looks good on a white car - you have more patience than me - definitely not something to tackle in a hurry - greetings from AU 🇦🇺 🦘
As ever a great video. 👍you should be proud of yourself for doing these job's. Would be duating to most of us. But have the confidence to try anything thanks to your videos.
Looks very well! Good work, like everytime:) I did a chrom delete on my car two days ago, but deleted all of the chrome (including chrom in the front and on the trunk) & also installed a black grill and red jaguar logo. Looking much better now on my XF-S in italian racing red/black kombo:)
Looks stunning! Good job! I'm gonna do this on my Supercharged 3.0 ltr XF X260! My only regret with the car was the chrome surrounds! Doesnt suit my Narvik Black paint at all!
Hey Hilton!!!! I asked you awhile back if you were gonna get rid of the Chrome...and you said you like a bit of bling!!!! What happened??? Looks great tho....sorely tempted myself.
You know what, I blame you for putting this crazy idea into my head 🤣. I gave it a great deal of thought and decided you were right. Black wheels, black mirrors, why not do it properly. Next will be the chrome on the trunk. I already have a new gloss black grill and will do that when I take the bumper off for a respray. Might even do the two bottom grills 😜
Wow your car just looks amazing, please say your going to complete the look and delete the chrome on the boot too? Like I said a job on my list to do thanks for the video, keep up the brilliant content.
🤣😂 absolutely Greg. The trunk chrome must go. And then tinting white on the tail lights as well. The front bumper needs a paint, so when that happens, I'll be deleting the chrome on the bottom vent and replacing the grill with a gloss black grill 😉
Hey Hilton, just saying your videos for XF are great. Where did you learn to do all this stuff. I wouldn't attempt half of it without a RUclips video reference like the ones you make for us. I've just watched your rear parcel shelf removal video did you use a mechanics manual before attempting that it just go "gung ho"😀😀. Your videos have a strangely calming feel about them (like some of those audio sensory videos) keep up the great work and your XF is awesome
Thanks Rob. I'm happy to hear you enjoy my videos. I do have the manuals for these cars but they don't go into much detail. So it's trial and error some of the time. I make the mistakes so you guys don't have to 🤣. I will have an upcoming video in the next couple of weeks on how to replace the grill with a gloss black one. Bumper off job. The bumper will be going in for a respray because it looks worse for wear currently. Next video will be a rear bumper touch up though as it has a badly repaired nick on it. Thanks for watching 🤗
Thanks mate. It's super easy wrapping them. And it protects the chrome. Also allows one to switch back to chrome one day when chrome comes back into fashion 🤣
I am also thinking of doing this. But I don't have the black wheels. Mine are silver. So I am not sure if I should do a chrome delete. It looks nice with the black wheels.
It actually looks just as good with silver wheels. The car just looks meaner and more aggressive. Adds a sporty touch without making the car look over done 👌
Hello Hilton. A fabulous result. It makes the Jag quite mean looking. Your patience really paid off. What about the front grill and rear chrome section? I'm pretty sure I have seen those bits in black on a few XF's here. May be that would be a step too much. What do you think? :-)
Oh Andy. You just don't know. I have those planned on upcoming videos but also with challenges. The front bumper needs a respray so when I do that, I'll be replacing the grill with a black one and soon I'll be doing the rear chrome. The black grill has been in the garage for months now as I've been putting it off. But in the coming weeks, that will be addressed as well 😉. Stay safe my friend
That looks really nice my friend , really suits the car the black against the white looks incredibly nice and elands to a mean look I love it. I have been thinking of doing this to mine but not sure how it will look being metallic British racing green but I’m still going to give it a go. Like I said I want to change my wheels and grill to black to I think it’ll look pretty sick when it’s all done great vid thanks bro 👍
You will need about 7 rolls. It takes 6, but just order one or two extra in case you mess up like I did. That rear window is difficult to do because it takes an entire roll and one has to get all the bubbles out.
I think you did a phenomenal job, however i have a question, I want to keep my chrome but its looking really oxidized in places, I've tried everything and nothing seems to work, any ideas of how to bring it back up to its shiny former state?
Thanks mate. Try some neat vinegar with a microfiber cloth. But you need to drench it, leave it for an hour then rub it off using some more vinegar then a clean damp cloth.
I went through 6 rolls of 3 x 5 ft mainly due to trial and error. After wasting two rolls, I finally got my groove and knew how to fit the film in a way that it was perfect. I'm a perfectionist, so getting it right was important to me. But I'd say order 6 rolls to be sure you have enough. You can then use the left overs for the chrome on the trunk. The front doors don't use an entire roll, but the rear doors need the full roll due to the fact that the chrome goes from the top all the round to the bottom and the only way to do it is to cover the whole rear window.
@@carfanfan thank you for fast reply 🤝. What brand of moisturizer? When I left my XFR for service I thought I was smart by protecting the leather dash against the sun with a blanket. But when I got the car back and removed the blanket, the dash has stripes all over, like "worms" 😟 looks horrible. Before the dash was in perfect condition 😩. If I'm lucky the stripes goes away if I just clean it and re moisturize it. But I have no idea what to use on the dash. The dash is dark brown in color
Car fan, this looks like such a ball ache! But I really want to do it to my XF because my XF is white with black wheels so I think going over the chrome with black vinyl will look a lot better. But it doesn't look easy. Was it hard to do?
@SR1Records it's not for the faint hearted. The rear doors were the most difficult as well as that small piece of chrome in front of the side mirrors. The video is so short but it took an entire day. I wasted an entire roll twice on the one rear door because it came up short at the end of the door. That's why I recommend buying 8 rolls of this stuff. The vinyl I used was good quality and very forgiving. Just take your time and concentrate on one section at a time and it will all come together. Patience is key.
The seal was easy to put back. When you pull it out, just pay attention to how it clips onto the molding. It has a few odd angles on it so if you see how it was installed you know how it must go back in. As with my video, start at one end and work your way to the end of the door.
@@carfanfan Thank you for your reply I’ve got a customer coming in tomorrow for a dechrome on the same Jag as yours. Was only worried about the seal on the back quarter. Thanks again for your help!!!
Fantastic job Hilton
Thank you for the how to do the vinyl chrome black out of the trim. I greatly appreciate all you mod how to videos.
Now the jag looks aggressive 👍

LoL, thanks mate. Yeah, it took a great deal of perseverance, but I'm stoked with the results 😉
Good effort 👏👏
Good job. It really looks very nice
Thanks 👍
Beautiful!

Excellent. My trunk is next as is the grill. I already have the grill but want my front bumper resprayed 😉
Absolutely beautiful from all angles
Did you give her a name yet 😂 ???
His name is Beast. 🤣

Thanks Darius 👍

Absolutely superb mate

Great job Hilton. Thanks.
Thanks Debbs. Don't know why I only saw your message now. But as always, thanks for being a loyal subscriber and thanks for watching 🤗

Great job but it looks like the kind of job that would send me into a volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius proportions.
Only thing left to do now is to wrap the roof black

What you do for a living mate? That house looks crazy!!
Time to tint those tail lights now Hilton!
Yep. That's on the list but after I've done the rear chrome so that I can get a good match 😉😂
Are you still planning on doing a screen head unit replacement with the media devices you found on Aliexpress
Yeah, but I'll be going with Unique Auto's version 😉

You will love the look especially on a darker car. If your windows are tinted, it will look even more aggressive :)
I rewatched your video and heard you say a quickie haha
🤣
Hi Hilton, Excellent video. Im going to try this myself. How much wrap did you use in total?
You will need about 7 rolls. It takes 6, but just order one or two extra in case you mess up like I did. That rear window is difficult to do because it takes an entire roll and one has to get all the bubbles out.

Hello, super works what is the length of the film you have to use 3ft x 5ft and enough for the whole car.
I went through 6 rolls of 3 x 5 ft mainly due to trial and error. After wasting two rolls, I finally got my groove and knew how to fit the film in a way that it was perfect. A whole other matter, what product did you use to clean and protect your leather dash in the X250?
I just use a damp microfiber cloth and leather moisturizer.

At 18:01 when you took the seal out how easy was it to push back in flush?
