We had a cockapoo for 19.5 years before she died/had to be put down. Good thing about them is they do not shed! But you need to cut their coat regularly. Wont be hard to keep the car clean at all Rick!

Another epic video Rick! This was fantastic to watch. With regards to Perl, i like to use it 1:1 in a spray bottle with just tap water. Apply it via a detail brush. Spray into the brush and spread the dressing. I'll go and complete all four tires then come back around with a Wheel and Tire towel and buff of any excess or high spots. Leaves the tires dark but not shiny, just clean!
I seriously can't believe how in love with PERL people are. Easily the most popular product I have come across. I will be sure to take your advice and guidance to heart. Thanks for sharing your insights.
Hey Rick, I don’t have any problem cleaning the standard pedal rubber, despite their deep grooves. I just use Julia’s toothbrush and APC, comes out great every time.
WEDEL.1 I have had my fair share of experience with conventional pedals over the years. They are possible to clean but the AMG I worked on last summer had such narrow and deep indentations in the pedals, it took forever to get sown deep into all of them I hear what you’re saying though.
Finally had time off to view pending videos ! And whoah a lot of them too :P Been busy with my newborn ! Great video again mate ! Love detailing new Audi interiors ! Great high quality materials !

Thanks Jody. I'm glad you got something out of this video. They actually take a lot of work to pull together, so the fact that it is appreciated is important to me. Thanks again.
RAD GARAGE At some point would really appreciate a video showing some scratch/swirl correction using a polisher. I’ve got no clue on which pads, polishes and prep. Thanks. 🙏
When I get a car in here that requires some correction, I'll for sure do that. The only issue is time. If I'm doing a correction, that's a lot of work so adding on hours of filming may be tricky if the owner doesn't give me the time I need. Most people think a "carwash" takes an hour! Fantastic. So for the steering wheel shine, I'm glad you were able to get success with that interior scrubbing mitt. I'll admit, I got one of those in a mystery box but ended up selling it before I even tried it out... now I'm not so sure that was the best choice since it seems to be perfect for the leather. You know what though, I do have that little scrubbing brush that ColourLock and Matt have both used to clean up leather seats, so I'm thinking that'll do the trick with similar light pressure...yeah that mitt looks like a time saver for the interior panels and stuff.
Yeah, I am quite enamored with that scrubbing mitt. It's a time saver and has just enough "grit" to do some real good cleaning. I have a few good brushes, but the way the mitt wraps around curved/round surfaces makes it a lot more satisfying to use.

Hi Rick. I use PERL neat for a tyre dressing. You can use it at 1:2 as mentioned by Pan, but I find this a little weak and not easy to see a change. I know some people like their tyres this way. I use it at 1:5 for interior dressing. It works as well as 303 Protectant, but lasts longer. I don’t think it has UV inhibitors or ant-static additives. They are what I like about Adam’s Interior Dressing, but it is so expensive here in Australia I just can’t afford to use it every time.
Thanks for all the insight. It sure seems like PERL is loved by many. I look forward to playing around with it a bit more. Adam's needs to find a way to expand their global distribution. I guess it isn't that easy to do so. What brands are super easy to get in Australia? I bet the South Korean brands have a big chunk of the market.
Great job Rick! I’m gonna have to try that leather mitt. I use a leather scrub brush (the microfibre scrubby kind) but like you, have had difficulties effectively cleaning the wheel. I only use pearl on my tires. Full strength but but circle back to remove the residue and a little buff. Brad Coish The mitt is a game changer for me. Love it. When you come for your preliminary visit when this cloud blows over, you will find even more sly innovations.
Hey thanks for the mention Rick! Haha yeah who am I kidding, you totally dreamt up the thought of trying out the interior scrubbing mitt ;) haha glad it worked well for you especially on your steering wheel, wow 👍🏼
Amazing Job Rick, your SQ5 Interior is awesome ! I dilute Carpro Perl 1/1 with a spray Trigger on my tire but I prefer Adam's VRT💥 or Tyre shine 💥 🙂👌🏻 Your job is perfect and I'm a big fan from France.
Thanks Gaby. I am looking forward to seeing for myself if PERL provides a superior tire dressing than my current favorite, Tire Shine by Adam's. One thing I really appreciate about Tire Shine is it last a long time and it is so easy to apply. No dilution, just wipe on and walk away. Very low maintenance product to use.
Rick. I continue to be inspired by your dedication to your craft. You are one of the best I have seen. Looking forward to more videos. By the way. Where do you purchase your microfibre cloths?
Perl is great 1:1 on tires. Also, courtesy of Chromatic Auto Detailing, you can dilute Perl 20:1 and apply with a brush on your mats to make them nice and black without the slickness. Use sparingly on your mats.
For carpro just type in pan the organizer carpro Perl & he gives you the dilution rations for tires and interior I think it’s 1/1 tires 4/1 interior for a satin finish
RAD GARAGE It’s a great product. I’ve only used a couple other Tyre dressings, VRT then found Perl through Obsessed Garage videos and I haven’t looked back. I use it neat with Adam’s Hex-Grip Pro Tyre dressing applicator and it works a dream for me. I have only recently found out people dilute it 1:1 so kinda tempted to try that and see how I get on with it, As my bottle will last a lot longer. But so far 100% happy with it neat
HAHAHA...way to go Chase!! Good suggestion. Now can I borrow your mitt tomorrow to do my truck seats and steering wheel? (P.S. Chase lives in my house at the moment!)
Hey Rick, thanks for the video. So you’re on your spring break. Once it’s over you wouldn’t be uploading videos frequently? Also, I bought his Gardena sprayer, $77 CAD, Made in Germany and I love it.
Yes, the amount of time I will have to dedicate to garage products has been unlimited while I have been on a break. I will see what I can about using my time effectively and efficiently on the weekends! I love Gardena products. Pricey, but worth it.
Rick, great videos. I have an SQ5 too, so you are teaching me a lot. I have leather/Alcantara seats. What would you recommend to clean the alcantara material with? As always, thank you!
Hi Rich. I would give the alcantara a little spritz of whatever carpet/upholstery cleaner you are using and just lightly go over it with a microfiber cloth/towel. I'm glad to have fellow SQ5 owners as viewers.
I like to use Perl 1:1 on my tires then wipe off where i started once I work my way around the whole vehicle. it leaves a satin deep black look. Might start using it straight and see how that affects the finish goodluck and great vid
michel g Not quite sure what you mean by “tablets”? The mat wall SS pieces were supplied by my HVAC contractor back when he installed my heater. Is that what you were referring to?
michel g Ok. Those are shelves I sourced at Ikea a few years back. They are stainless steel clad and pretty affordable. Only issue is, I bought them so long ago I can’t be certain Ikea sells that model of shelf any more.
What cleaner you use isn't as important as the towel you use. You would want a low lint/tight weave towel and you want to use a light touch as to not cause marring in the soft finish. For a cleaner, I would recommend any reputable interior cleaner spray. I use Adam's Multi-use Interior Cleaning Gel and I have been getting streak free usage for a long time now.
Hey Rick, noticed from your other videos your also in Calgary! I am an aspiring detailer and want to learn paint correction (on a hobby level) and then move from there! What kind of DA polisher and other products do you recommend?
Al Denino Honestly, I recommend you give Chris at Carzilla a visit. His shop is just off Deerfoot and 16 Ave. Tell him I referred you and he will hook you up with everything you need to get your paint correction process off the ground. His knowledge is unsurpassed. He will even give you the RAD Garage discount!
RAD GARAGE Hey Rick! Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I will check them out in the next week or so, hope to let you know how it goes! Your videos are really helpful and makes me want to jump right into detailing
It lathers up so quickly and does a great job of cleaning and rejuvenating the mats. It leaves them with that OEM matte finish just like when they came straight of the bags! I enjoy using it more than pretty much any other product. If you try it out, let me know if you feel the same.
What a great channel. Amazing content. Keep it up man. Just a friendly suggestion. Consider having ear muffs or your favorite over ear headphones on when using vacuum and air dryer. Personal safety first!
I always wear ear protection for the air dryer. Always. Of my two vacuums, one is pretty loud and one is pretty good. But, I will be more careful as I move forward. I use to not wear gloves even.
RAD GARAGE : you are a good man. Yeah, noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) is one of the biggest concerns of 20th century incurable disease. The more time you spend detailing the more risk it creates but we are pleased to hear that you have hearing protection on. Hand dermatitis with chemical sensitivity is another occupational disease and gloves certainly will protect you. Anyway, my boring medicine aside, one of the best channels on car detailing on you tube. I pity you guys for the Canadian winters (and spring) you have to bear. We feel lucky here in Aussie land with good weather round the year. Your garage is for any man to get envious from.
MrThePraye I really appreciate your insights and advice. I am going to get those smaller ear buds for when I vacuum. Thanks for taking an interest in me and my garage escapades. All the best you.
Great video as usual. I have a question regarding leather cleaning process. Are you using any sort of conditioner on leather surfaces or just leather cleaner? I tried to clean my nappa seats today and eventually I saw matte finish, but after I applied conditioner they turn shiny and glossy. What’s your suggestion? P.S. I’m using chemical guys products. Huge thanks and thumbs up👌🏻
Every leather is different. I don't use a dressing every time. I feel like that just leads to a build up. When I see my SQ5 leather getting glossy, I break out that Adam's scrubbing mitt and my Leather Cleaner. That always restores the matte finish. Once a month, I will apply their Matte Finish Leather Conditioner. It seems to be working for me. On cars belonging to others, I just play it by ear and let the owner decide if they want me to dress the leather. I don't yet feel like I have developed my leather care skill set to the point I want. Always learning, but I treat leather delicately.
RAD GARAGE I have 2018 SQ5, same as yours but in glacier white and 55k kilometers. So if after applying conditioner it leaves shiny look then I need consider other product?
Yeah, some "conditioners" leave a lustry look behind. I find this Adam's leather conditioner leaves the seats looking OEM matte. carzilla.ca/products/leather-amp-interior-dressing-8oz?_pos=5&_sid=e178970dc&_ss=r&ref=RADGARAGE
Just found this channel...at 1:30pm if you want to know dilutions for perl..talk to matt moreman from obsessed garage. Or look up his channel. I'll be watching other videos here later..im going to bed now LOL..
@@RADGarage last longer than other water based dressing. If you prep your tires and coat it with perl, will last you several days (idk about winter canada).
I was using a spray on foam before that was messy . For me it give me a better control on the application and I like the finish . I have not tried a lot of different one’s but I mainly use it because Perl is versatile and can be used unther hood and/or the interior. It is a very good all around product for me.

Well, my garage isn't the best lit garage in the world, but it is decent. I have a Scangrip headlamp I will use time to time, but with the sunroof open, there is enough light for me to effectively see what I am doing. I also have a retractable LED light mounted in the centre of the ceiling that I will sometimes pull down into the cockpit of the car.
@@RADGarage perfect thanks! your Garage isn't just decent ... it's mega galactic! I do not hide you that I am modifying the setup of my garage and I am keeping yours in mind, wonderful garage as a model .. now, I will not even be able to get close to yours, but I keep it there, in mind, as inspiration. for the light I understand, I already have a sufficient amount of light, but it is too central, it shoots the light on the roof, and my sunroof is not as big as yours, so less light passes through. I will try to equip myself better. thanks for everything.

RAD GARAGE no problem. There’s a video on his channel of him doing it!
330Ryan I will have to check it out.
You will absolutely love your Dog I’ve had two excellent personalities, Stay Well excellent job
madmark171 That’s great news. We are really looking forward to it. Thanks.
For carpro just type in pan the organizer carpro Perl & he gives you the dilution rations for tires and interior I think it’s 1/1 tires 4/1 interior for a satin finish
I'll be sure to do that. Thanks.
Thanks for another great video Rick, Really enjoyed it. Hope you manage to get on with Perl
Ryan I can’t believe how in love with PERL people are!
I'll try it next time. I'll be comparing it to Tire Shine by Adam's.
Another great presentation! I have to say I’m really enjoying these, also enjoying your SQ5. Looks awesome! BTW: WEDEL.1 = SKODA.3.
Ahh! Now I can connect the dots! Great to hear from you again. I hope your own interior projects leave you as satisfied as mine left me.
HAHAHA...way to go Chase!! Good suggestion. Now can I borrow your mitt tomorrow to do my truck seats and steering wheel? (P.S. Chase lives in my house at the moment!)
Just because he lives under your roof doesn't mean you can steal his mitt! C'mon dad!
God that Audi looks beautiful at the end!
Thanks. She cleans up well. Your musical talents enhanced the process for me!
I like to use Perl 1:1 on my tires then wipe off where i started once I work my way around the whole vehicle. it leaves a satin deep black look. Might start using it straight and see how that affects the finish goodluck and great vid
Thanks for the input. I have quite a few options currently for dressing tires, but maybe I can squeak in a PERL session at some point. Thanks again.
Thanks Rick for your videos, question..where do you buy your stainless steel tablets. thanks
michel g Not quite sure what you mean by “tablets”? The mat wall SS pieces were supplied by my HVAC contractor back when he installed my heater. Is that what you were referring to?
@@RADGarage yes the shelf with your product adams is on...
thanks
michel g Ok. Those are shelves I sourced at Ikea a few years back. They are stainless steel clad and pretty affordable. Only issue is, I bought them so long ago I can’t be certain Ikea sells that model of shelf any more.
How to clean black piano interior ? What to use
Thank you and really enjoy your videos
Thanks. I appreciate the support! 🙏
Saludos desde Ecuador. Me facina ver cómo le hacen el detallado de los autos, buenos videos.
Thanks for the message all the way from Ecuador. I hope you are doing well down there!
Great video rick as usual.I dilute carpro pearl 1:1 with distilled water.
KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEOS.
I'm going to feature PERL in my upcoming projects. Once I get a new car in here!
Nice, I have a s3
@@jackyboy7648 I'd love to detail one of those.
It’s a nice car but don’t have the beautiful carbon fibre round the interior trim love ur sq5 that my next car for sure
Yes, I am a big fan of the carbon fibre trim, but that wasn't standard. I had to pay a bit extra for that.
Thanks Rick for your videos, question..why do you prefer the Adams Rubber Mat product over All Purpose Cleaner? Thanks
What brand are those metal garage cabinets? Thx
Tundra Whisperer Craftsman.
You need to make that OG Canada work with Matt. That will bring more awesome videos :)
I'm open for anything!
@@RADGarage I guess move to the UK and do a UK/EU distribution center then :D
@@ItsRyan. I wouldn't mind leaving Canada on terrible weather days like today!
RAD GARAGE Garage livestream weather? I wish
@radgaraje Where can we get the apparatus that hung the mats
They are clamps and they are pretty easy to find online. Just Google "wall clamps floor mats" and I'm sure you'll get lots of hits.
Thanks. Viewers have been giving me all kinds of recommendations for PERL dilutions. Thanks for finding the channel. I hope it keeps you entertained!
Gotta try out 303 aerospace the white bottle bud
Sergio Heredia I have it. What do you suggest I use it on?
Qué hermoso modelo de Audi ! Por aquí no hay
Thank you. The Audi SQ5 is an amazing vehicle that I am proud to own.
@@RADGarage Qué motor tiene ? 1.4, 1.8, ó 2.0 ?
Gabriel Biloni 3.0 Turbo.
@@RADGarage Wow ! Máquina ! Realmente hermoso, te felicito 💪
Rick I use Perl 1:1 for my tire. I spray it on a tire sponge applicator, wipe the tire and finish it off with a MF towel.
Guy Haché What makes it superior, in your opinion, to any other tire dressing?
@@RADGarage last longer than other water based dressing. If you prep your tires and coat it with perl, will last you several days (idk about winter canada).
I was using a spray on foam before that was messy . For me it give me a better control on the application and I like the finish . I have not tried a lot of different one’s but I mainly use it because Perl is versatile and can be used unther hood and/or the interior. It is a very good all around product for me.
I Google translated your comment. Thanks for the great compliment. I am just a regular guy who loves to keep his garage and car in pristine condition. There's nothing I do that anyone else can't do. Again, thanks for taking the time to comment and I hope I can keep you around as a viewer!
Hi, what do you use to have enough light inside the cabin?
@@Gabriele090982 Mega galactic! I love it. Thanks so much. Finding solutions to the little issues that pop up is part of the process, so do your best to work through them and enjoy the journey!
@@RADGarage It is a typical verbal expression to describe something we particularly like, in Italian it sounds better I must say, sometimes the translation is not so immediate .;) For the rest of course, always improve, set a goal and achieve it. thanks for everything.
Gabriele090982 In Canada, we use “awesome” for pretty much everything! I wish we found more original ways of expressing ourselves!
No flat bottom wheel? Is that a change in 2019?
see63ess No. Audi doesn’t offer a heating option in a flat-bottom design so 99% of SQ5’s in Canada have the less cool round wheel. But, our hands are toasty.
@@RADGarage Ahh, Forgot about the cold weather package. Now it makes since
see63ess The round is nice, but I find it weird they can’t offer a heated flat-bottom. Makes no sense to me.
RAD GARAGE I agree. I have an RS6 Avant on order and I hope it comes with a flat bottom. If not. I will be swapping it out.
see63ess I have no doubt the wheel in that thing will be wild. I look forward to seeing it! When does it arrive?
What are those clips for the mats called? I need them!
I just did a Google search for "floor mat wall clamps" and picked up set of four.

Where did you get your carbon fibre SQ5 key fob?
It was an ad that popped on my Instagram. I don't think I saved the link. Let me look...
@@RADGarage Thanks. I have a 2018 Q5 and my lease is up. I have a deposit on a daytona grey 2020 SQ5. I drove it last week and LOVE it!! I live in Whistler, BC. We're practically neighbours. ;-)
Oh wow. Is that model refresh year?
RΔD GΔRΔGE No -
2021 is the refresh. I’m ok with the current 2020 model. I love my Q5 (had a 2015 Q5 TDI previously).
I haven't actually seen what the refresh looks like, but I just love every aspect of the current B9.
Before you get your dog you should invest in a lily brush.
hollowpoint372 TBT, the dog won’t be in the car that often. Maybe those are famous last words, but I do have a Sonax pet hair brush just in case. My understanding is that cockapoos don’t shed too much.

No window cleaning???!!?
So many ??!!!! marks!
Like I explained in the video, I performed a thorough interior detail a few weeks prior. Try AMMO MUD I don’t like Pearl either
Paul Sanchez AMMO needs a Canadian distributor. With the weak Canadian dollar exchange and the shipping/customs/duties it just doesn’t make any financial sense for me to buy any AMMO at this point. I’m hoping Larry catches wind of my channel and offers to send me some goodies!! What do you say Larry? 😝
BTW, we are the only two in the 🌎 that don’t swear by PERL.
