I never saw you nervous in a video before. I just assumed you were the kind of person who doesn't get nervous ! You did good. You figured out how to work the roller - sighted people don't naturally know how to do that either. It takes some trial and error. And you exceeded your goal of 75% coverage.

You get an A from me!! You used your other senses to the max to get the job done. You made sure to create a boundary to guide you and limit any mistakes. You verbally checked with those around you often, so that they gave you a sense of how well you were doing. You touched the walls to check for dry spots, and listened for the sound of the brush touching the wall. You quickly fixed any mistakes too. Awesome job ❤

I think it's really interesting how you position your body relative to the wall. I noticed that you don't really face the wall as much as many people, which makes sense because you aren't relying on sight so there's no reason to turn towards the wall as much to look at it. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Tommy, I've always appreciated your candid and informative answers about the experience of being blind from birth. I'm curious about a more unusual topic - have you ever considered or experienced psychedelic substances like LSD, mescaline, or psilocybin? I'm fascinated by consciousness and perception, especially how these might differ for someone who's never experienced visual input. If you have tried any of these, did you experience anything you'd describe as 'visual' or color-like? If not, what are your thoughts on how such an experience might differ for you compared to sighted individuals? Thanks for all your great content!
A few notes about this comment:
    1. It's respectful and acknowledges Tommy's existing work.
    2. It asks the question directly but non-judgmentally.
    3. It leaves room for Tommy to discuss the topic hypothetically if he hasn't had personal experience.
    4. It's concise enough for a RUclips comment while still providing context for your question.

Thats pretty good. Im just confused how you dont continually fall face first in the wall and get the paint all over your face. I'd like to see you in yoga classes. We use a concept call dristy to keep our balance. It means locking your eyes on one thing to do the most incredible balancing acts. The more the eyes wander, the less your mind is on the balance and equalibrium of the body. So we find a solid gaze to also have solid posture. Eventually, we strengthen our balance by doing it with our eyes closed. If we can meditate and keep our minds clear, we can stay focused on the balance, even though we dont have a sense of where the horizon is.
I wonder if you have a quite focused and solid mind, even though you cannot focus your vision on anything. Im confused how you are even able to walk because your eyes seem to flutter and try to look at everything. Since the eyes are the most external part of our central nervous system and our autonomic responses, if the eyes are fluttering, even though they cannot see, that tells me the person is not able to mentally focus on one thing at a time. However, you seem to be able to keep yourself on one sibject, you don't just fall over, and you listen when people tell you something.
The mind doesn't waste neurons. So maybe your focus is more directed towards your hearing. Even though that is a part of the central nervous system that does not really have exposure to the outside world. There are so many membranes that cover those nerves. The air would have to get through so many layers of wax and fluid before they can physically reach your ability to focus on them. I am epileptic, so I don't really use ny vision much. I mostly rely on my hearing. And i feel quite a separation between those who communicate more with their vision. I wonder if you feel the same being blind since birth.

That seriously looks better than many paint jobs I´ve seen. If you took a hand brush and got into the gaps caused by the two-by-fours, it would look almost perfect! You should try splatter painting next time, it´s such a fun kinetic way to paint.

    @alanaflynn8878 9 месяцев назад +2

My first thought was B+! But that's mainly because of the little sections on the left, outside the borders where you got some splotches of paint. Disregarding that, I say A- or A; there are some spots near the borders that are near hand width bare, the paint isn't entirely even, BUT -- and that's an all capital letters "but" -- you covered the main center area of the square REALLY, REALLY WELL. It is completely red except for the fringes. You did an exceptionally thorough job!!
Looking at it again, the main gaps in the paint on the edges seem to be on the right side, whereas where you left the border and painted outside the square was on the left. You did the right side first, so it seemed you were being extra cautious and didn't get as much of that side, and then, when you moved to the left, you were maybe feeling more confident: you got a lot more of the border there, but you also painted outside the plywood. What I get from that is, clearly you were learning, and all of this was a good practice session! I'll bet if you did more wall painting shortly after this, you'd do even better than you did here!
I love your channel and your videos! Thanks to you and Ben for making these great videos!

I think for trying to paint inside the lines, you failed, but that's okay, cuz it's the first time!
For coverage definitely an A-, you covered all the major parts, and just need to go around the edges with a brush or something similar to even it out.
For the excess/waste paint and dripping, probably you get a C, you're gonna have to work on not taking up too much paint on the brush, getting an even coverage without completely drenching the wall.
On average you land somewhere in B territory indeed!

Serious question. Does being blind have any impact on your sleep? Do you often just fall asleep because it's always dark?

It's not always dark. He doesn't see anything at all, not even the dark we see when we close our eyes.

when you close your eyes, your light receptors can still tell a bright room apart from a dark room because light passes through your eyelids. There are blind people who can still pick up some light, but a completely blind person cannot tell bright from dark, so they don't see anything, not even darkness.
