  • For most people, October 31 represents Halloween. For the two women in this video, Maya and Molly, October 31 represents their freedom in Christ because Jesus saved them out of witchcraft where they were previously slaves to sin and practicing Samhain rituals. Now Molly and Maya warn professing Christians about the dangers of these Halloween practices, including worldly Trunk or Treat harvest festivals without evangelism at churches.
October 31 is the pagan Celtic high holy day of Samhain (pronounced Sou-wen), in which wiccans, new agers, witches, and satanists believe that the veil between earth and the spirit world is thinnest - so they practice rituals to connect with spirits (demons). October 31 is also Reformation Day, in remembrance of Martin Luther nailing the 95 Theses to the church door in Wittenberg.
Christians have liberty, yet we are also exhorted to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and that we can’t drink of the cup of demons and the cup of the Lord (1 Corinthians 10:21). Always follow your conscience, the Holy Spirit’s leadings, and pray for God’s wisdom about participating in Halloween activities.
