Winter ended really well and I'm so happy! I read Cinder when it came out when I was a newbie, so The Lunar Chronicles is kind of special to me. THE SONG OF ACHILLES. I'm going to be watching your tweets like a hawk. It's one of my favourite books ever. It's stunning!
you are the only booktuber the has mentioned Tamora Pierce, my favourite author!! I am an expert on her books. 1) the circle books take place in a different world then the Alanna books. 2) the circle of magic takes place before the circle opens. 3) the circle of magic do have different titles, though yours are more interesting and 4) the protector of the small is my favourite series by her.
+Samantha Plater Tamora Pierce is also one of my favs and PotS is my favorite series by her too! I could literally read her books for days. They are my go-to books when I'm sick or feeling down.
Tamora is my favorite as well. So sweet & made my fangirl dreams come true when she wrote me a letter years ago! 😄 Protector of the Small is my favorite as well! I really love Beka Cooper as well!
+Samantha P It's so interesting to me that everyone's favorites are in the Tortall universe (mine included!). I didn't know the Circle Universe existed until I'd read almost all of the Tortall ones. So I love the Circle-verse books, but Tortall holds my heart because I read those first :P
A court of thorns and roses was amazing. I already loved the story of Beauty and the Beast, and reading A Court of Thorns and Roses was definitely worth the read, in my opinion. I haven't read any of the Lunar Chronicles yet, and I think I should soon.
ACOTAR is my favorite book. I usually don't re-read books, but I've re-read it and it never gets old. I pre-ordered A court of mist and fury as soon as I was able to. :p Also, the Lunar chronicles is good. Definitely pick it up.
A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES! I've been in a reading slump this year and that book really brought back my passion for reading, it made me realise how much I missed reading
I'm almost done with Winter and SO SAD about it. It's so amazing and I don't want it to end! Also, A Court of Thorns and Roses is absolutely wonderful. I literally couldn't put it down. Hopefully you enjoy it!
It would be SUPER appreciated and helpful if you would put a list of all the books and their authors you mention in the description box! That way we have a quick reference if we didn't quite catch a title and want to also get a copy of that book :)
I could not resist the hardback of Illuminae either! It is probably one of my favorite covers ever. That's neat that you're listening to the audiobook of it. I'll be interested to hear how it translates since the text inside is so varied.
Oh man, Tamora Pierce is such a wonderful author! The editions of the Lioness quartet that you picked up are the editions that I read as a child as well, and I have such amazing memories of reading them for the first time. I also absolutely adored (and happily still own) The Protector of the Small quartet - which I would definitely recommend reading as well!
I am so glad to see someone else who loves Tamora Pierce! I've been collecting her books this year as well, and I have read/reread Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen several times (not knowing they came later in the series, but it didn't matter when I went back to read the others).
For the Cousin's War series by Philippa Gregory, they should be read The Lady of the Rivers (Jaquetta Woodville), The Red Queen (Margaret Beaufort/Lancaster Storyline), The White Queen (Elizabeth Woodville/York Storyline), The Kingmaker's Daughter (Anne Neville/Richard III Storyline), The White Princess (Elizabeth of York/Tudor Origin Story), and finally The King's Curse (Margaret de la Pole/Remains of War of the Roses)! I'm currently on The Kingmaker's Daughter, truly an amazing viewpoint of these women's lives!
Loved A Court of Thorns and Roses! It was my first Sarah J Maas book and I cannot stop thinking about it. I finished it in around 30 hours. 6 of them were me actually reading. It was amazing.
The order I read Philippa Gregory's books were The Lady of the Rivers, The Red Queen, The White Queen, The Kingmaker's Daughter, The White Princess and The King's Curse. Hope that helps you! :)
So exciting to see someone who knows and reads Tamora Pierce! I've only read -and currently rereading- the Protector of the Small Quartet which does mention Alanna briefly. It really is a wonderful series and it nice to see other Tamora Pierce books I should check out.
The cover of Disruption is sooo cool :o also YESSSSSS TAMORA PIERCE IS THE BEST. Most of her books do take place in Tortall but the Circle of Magic series is in a separate universe. I've actually been reading all of Tamora Pierce's books this year and it's been so wonderful, I'm just absolutely in love with them and I recommend her books to everyone.
the song of achilles is so good oh my gosh it's just a retelling of it i've heard from some classics lovers that it's actually really accurate to the original story and the writing is so good i cried :')
OMG! I read "The queen's fool" and "The Virgin's lover" and I LOVED them! Can't wait to hear your opinion about the two you picked up 😍Anyway I can't believe I love almost everything about this book haul 😳Gonna add some books on my amazon cart 💃 Have a nice Sunday! 😘
Tamora Pierce is amazing! The Circle of Magic is first and then the Circle Opens and they do have the same characters. And oh my gods The Song of Achilles is amazing and beautiful and will probably make you cry.
Hi you might already know this but just thought I'd mention that those editions of Harry Potter are the original adult ones and only go up to goblet of fire. They stopped making them after that and instead made the new adult editions (black with photographs on them)
Hi Caz. I read the Phillippa Gregory books in publication order but I don't think it really matters. The White Queen, The Red Queen and The Kingmaker's Daughter all take place around the same time. The Lady of the Rivers is a prequel, then The White Princess and The King's Curse follow on. I think The Kingmaker's Daughter was my favourite, but that could be because in the BBC adaptation of The White Queen, Anne was played by Faye Marsay who played Steph in the movie Pride, which is one of my favourite films of recent years. I've never read historical fiction before but I really liked the series. I don't know how historically accurate it is but I enjoyed them anyway! I hope you enjoy too!
I love Tamora Pierce. You need to get the rest of the Tortall books; The Immortals Quartet, The Protector of the Small Quartet and The Daughter of the Lioness series. They all interact with each other and are just beyond brilliant. I love them.
I absolutely love Tamora Pierce's Tortall books, which start with Alanna then follow with Daine, Kel, Ali and Beka. I hope you get to pick them up and love them too!
Tamora Pierce books are my childhood omg i actually just started re-reading the Alanna books this month and have been getting so nostalgic. I've never read the Circle books, only the Tortall ones, so I may have to do that next!
I don't know if someone has answered your question already but: you should read the Cousin's War Series (Red Queen, White Queen) in publication order as the fourth book Kingmaker's Daughter ties the first three together and puts the series in chronological order. TKD also builds upon the information the first three books give you. So, I would recommend publication order.
The Circle Opens and The Magic Circle actually take place in Tamora Pierce's other world, she has two worlds. Most of her books take place in the same world from Alanna, and the circle books are the only ones that take place in the other. All her books are incredible though!
I would recommend reading the Cousins' War series by Philippa Gregory in chronological order. I read the first three out of order, and while it made sense, I didn't feel like it gave me the chance to be as immersed in the series as I would have been if I had read them in order. It also makes a little more sense in the historical timeline to read them in order, as certain things might slip your mind.
FYI there is a bind up of novellas coming for the lunar chronicles is called stars above coming out on February 2, 2016. And A Court of Thorns and Roses was so good! I can't wait for A Court of Mist of Fury coming May 3rd 2016
I went to a Bookcon a few months ago and Derek Landy was there. I didn't plan on buying and getting Demon Road signed but I ended doing it anyway. The author was hilarious which was one of the reasons why I bought it, and I'm pretty sure it involves a road trip 😊
Great video, as always! It was great to see you again at BTCYA. Alison and Bec practically forced me to buy Disruption too. I really liked A Court of Thorns and Roses, it was a little bit predictable but I just couldn't put it down!
Skulduggery Pleasant is the most underrated series ever! it's my second favorite book series of all time! Anyway, Demon Road is definitely good, and is more YA while SP is more middle grade. Demon Road has a very original idea. You'll love it!
Illuminae and the White Queen are on my TBR! I have Winter as well but feeling so scared it is hard to read it :D Soundless, Demon Road, The Passenger, The Next Togerther... all these books sound so epic! Especially The Song of Achilles because I love greek mythology as well and I haven't heard a negative thing about it.
I haven't read Demon Road but I have read the Skulduggery Pleasant series and it's one of my all time favorites. Beyond underrated here on Booktube. So good!
Today I finished reading The song of Achilles. I am Greek and I live in Greece so I know the original story because I ve read so many books about it and spend hours in class analyzing every single line. But this book was so refreshing and so different in some aspects ! I really liked it, but I think everyone should read the original story first. :)
When I re-read the cousin's war series I read them in this order. 1. The lady of the rivers.2. The White queen3. The Red queen4. The kingmakers daughter5. The White princess (my favourite book of all her books)6. The Kings curse
A Court of Thorns and Roses is a MUST read!!!!! I can't believe u haven't read it yet!!! The magic and romance are so gorgeous and the characters are amazing ( The heroine is a badass ;) the ending leaves u baffled and I can't wait for the sequel!!!!!! **fangirling**
I read Red Queen, White Queen, Lady of Rivers. Red Queen and White Queen are the same story just from two different points of view so it doesn't matter. You can then just treat Lady of Rivers as a prequel :) The Kingmaker's Daughter is another one in the series, which follows Anne Neville and is following the same story as Red and White :)
An audiobook for Illuminae! Envy right here... I've begged a friend coming over to South Africa from England for xmas to bring me the book - cannot bloody hell wait!!!! Soooo much hype. Been having so much FOMO. About to pick up Cinder and start the Lunar Chronicles tomorrow :D Just watched a review of The Lady of the Rivers earlier and it sounds amazing! They are beautiful covers! Really want to pick them up! The Masked Truth! Soundless! Gahhh I want your entire haul!! :(
Finally someone who shares my love of Tamora pierce all her series are amazing, also the circle of magic quartet comes before the circle opens quartet. L
So jealous of everyone that has passenger! I am really loving ACOTAR so far! I still need to finish it tho What is that Harry Potter edition! Omgah! So many books! Such a great haul!
I can't believe you got Derek Landys new book, I read all of the skulduggery pleasant books and loved them. I have been looking everywhere for Demon Road and haven't been able to find it!
Ahhhh! I was hoping that I would come across a booktuber that has read Tamora Pierce! I loved the Song of Lioness series! You must pick up her Protector of the Small series and her duology based on Alanna's daughter! The books are called Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen! They are amazing.
Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire is an amazing book that tells the tale of Cinderella from another point of view. unlike what might be suggested the book isn't slanter of the original story and isn't biased against Cinderella. we are simple told the tale from a realistic point of view. While we may not get coach men out of mice there is still something magical in this take of the story
I liked Demon Road, though I love Landy's Skulduggery Pleasant series. Demon Road is violent and creepy, but also funny - reminiscent of the TV show Supernatural. Give it a go!
+Amanda Center (IntrovertX) I feel the same way. Demon Road was fun, but Skulduggery Pleasant is my fave. Demon Road also gave me huge Supernatural vibes, haha.
Amanda Center Yes! Demon Road was enjoyable but Skulduggery Pleasant was amazing. I got so attached to the characters and I cried at the end although it wasn't particularly sad. "Doors are for people with no imagination" -Derek Landy
omg! the white queen!!! Personally I would recommend that you read them in order of publication but thats just because personally I HATED the lady of the rivers. one of the characters is VERY annoying and I wouldn't want you to get discouraged from reading this amazing series
I got The Next Together in the YA CHRONICLES box and read it straight away - it's so so good!!!!! Definitely repetitive in terms of time but that's why it's called Time and Time Again 😂 I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Omg Tamora pierce! She has written my favorite book series of all time, the wild magic series. God, you are the only person on booktube who I've seen even say her name. But you should definitely buy and read the wild magic series next. It follows a different main character, but takes place directly after Alanna's story. Alanna even makes a few appearances. I think you'd love it and I would cry with happiness if you read and reviewed it. Love you!
Omg, yes, I love the books by Derek Landy! I haven't read Demon Road yet, but I highly reccomend the Skulduggery Pleasant Series--it's about a female protagonist, a skeleton detective, lots of humour, lots of magic. You will love it. ;)
A Court Of Thorns And Roses is so good. I was going into it kind of not really knowing anything about it and I loved it so much. I would love to hear what you think of it when you finish reading it.
What do you recommend ? Listening to Illuminae as an audiobook or reading it as a book? I read The Lady of The Rivers a while back - I really liked it. If you like Philipa Gregory books then I highly recommend Blood & Beauty by Sarah Dunant. They have very similar writing styles and Blood & Beauty is about the Borgia family. That edition of Harry Potter is so pretty. Are you planning on getting the other books in the series also in that edition?
+The Art Admirer I'm really enjoying the audiobook and highly recommend it, however I think that you really do need to experience the book visually. Maybe even read the book alongside the audiobook? There is so much happening on the pages that is obviously lost when translating the book into audiobook. The visual aspects really contribute a lot to the story. :) If I ever come across any of the other books in that edition I plan on picking them up, though I think someone commented saying they only published the first four books in those covers.
Hi I love your videos. With the Philippa Gregory books - one of my favourite series - I recommend reading the Lady of Rivers, The White Queen, The Red Queen and than The King Maker's Daughter because although there is some cross over it will run more chronological to the historical events. Hope this helps ^^
I've already finished Winter and I think it has been wonderful but now I'm so sad because The Lunar Chronicles are one of my fav series. Anyway, I heard a lot of good comments about Illuminae and I hope it will be relased in my country too - I'm italian.
I would definitely read The Cousins' War books in chronological order. I think that it's easier to understand and be able to follow along the time line.
YES! Please read demon road! Derek Landys writing is so amazing and this is an amazing start to a series of great potential. I cannot say anything but good things about this book
Great video, I've been wanting to get into reading Tamora Pierce's series for ages now, maybe in the new year I'll finally get round to picking up the series :)
my mom has read all of Philippa Gregory's books. On her website there's a timeline on what year this book is taking place in so go om her site and you'll get the order in which you should read the books :)
That edition of Harry Potter is really pretty. I want to re-buy all Harry Potter books (since my editions are not in english), but I just can't decide what edition to buy. They are all really beautiful. Great haul! Illuminae looks sooo interesanting, and I really need to read The Lunar Chronicles soon :)
Tamora Pierce!! Always a good decision! Love those covers as well 😍😍

+Samantha Plater My favorite of the Tortall books is definitely The Immortals OR The Daughter of the Lioness. I love Daine and Aly.
Tamora is my favorite as well. So sweet & made my fangirl dreams come true when she wrote me a letter years ago! 😄 Protector of the Small is my favorite as well! I really love Beka Cooper as well!
My favourite Tamora Pierce books are the Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen,

+Tabitha Spears Just ordered this on Book Depository, so should hopefully be with me at some point this week :D really hope it's good!
+Kayla Bowers in my opinion it's amazing
+Tabitha Spears Awesome! Can't wait to get it.
A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES! I've been in a reading slump this year and that book really brought back my passion for reading, it made me realise how much I missed reading
the Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite series and can't believe it has ended.

I adddooored Disruption! I hope you enjoy it. I still need to read the sequel.
I love that edition of Illuminae so much! I need to get my hands on a copy of it!
Oh man, Tamora Pierce is such a wonderful author! The editions of the Lioness quartet that you picked up are the editions that I read as a child as well, and I have such amazing memories of reading them for the first time. I love Tamora Pierce. You need to get the rest of the Tortall books; The Immortals Quartet, The Protector of the Small Quartet and The Daughter of the Lioness series. They all interact with each other and are just beyond brilliant. I love them.

I finally picked up Illuminae and OMIGOODNESS. IT WAS SO GOOD. And Winter. Gosh. Just...fabulous.
omg! the white queen!!! Personally I would recommend that you read them in order of publication but thats just because personally I HATED the lady of the rivers. one of the characters is VERY annoying and I wouldn't want you to get discouraged from reading this amazing series
I loved A Court of Thorns and Roses, and I hope you do too!😄
Oh my goodness I just read The Song of Achilles this week and it was just so amazing and beautiful, you should definitely read that one soon!
I read One Past Midnight by Jessica and I really liked it. I might pick up her other books at some point.
I got The Next Together in the YA CHRONICLES box and read it straight away - it's so so good!!!!! Definitely repetitive in terms of time but that's why it's called Time and Time Again 😂 I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I just finished The Lady of the Rivers, and I would recommend reading it before The White Queen.
so i think i want to read some of the Tamara Pierce books now sounds like fun
Omg Tamora pierce! She has written my favorite book series of all time, the wild magic series. God, you are the only person on booktube who I've seen even say her name. But you should definitely buy and read the wild magic series next. It follows a different main character, but takes place directly after Alanna's story. Alanna even makes a few appearances. I think you'd love it and I would cry with happiness if you read and reviewed it. Love you!
The next together sounds soooo interesting !!! I need to read!!!
Can't wait for you to read The Song of Achilles! This book is so beautiful yet so heartbreaking ;**
Awww, Caz youre so lucky! You better threat those signed Sarah J Maas books nicely because.... You gotta.
I saw the hardbound illuminae at a bookstore and i went crazy, it was so freaking cool! and of course. I bought it HAHA
- no shame
I don't know if you've read any Garth Nix, but I highly recommend him :) plus the original covers are best
Wow huge book haul, I love your videos!!
If I ever come across any of the other books in that edition I plan on picking them up, though I think someone commented saying they only published the first four books in those covers.
Thanks :)
Hi I love your videos. With the Philippa Gregory books - one of my favourite series - I recommend reading the Lady of Rivers, The White Queen, The Red Queen and than The King Maker's Daughter because although there is some cross over it will run more chronological to the historical events. Hope this helps ^^
When I Looked At The Tumbnail, My Said Out Loud "WOAH!!!"
Can you do a video of how your store all your books? I'd really enjoy that!
