Also, as far as the rapid healing, you mentioned you thought it was fish but I'm actually pretty sure they heal rapidly near the surface of the ocean. I have NEVER seen sabertooth salmon Swarm like that XD that was hilarious. Lost my shit at the "step-mosa" joke. That's hilarious. You got lucky I've never once been through that cave EVER without having an alpha mosa that I had to deal with. Mosas make me sad. I love them as Ocean tames but I don't usually bother with them because they're no resistant to the jellyfish, which are everywhere so you can't actually USE them for much, like the caves. They're mostly just good for goofing around on. Shame.
Yeah man, mosas don't become useful until you get to the platform saddle and the tek underwater building blocks, then they become the most OP underwater bases in the game.

The basilo is one of those dinos I forget exists but they're really good
Definitely a must have aquatic mount for sure, their ability to resist the Cnidaria stun is invaluable.
