Are you using electricity to make your briquettes? If so is it really renewable energy?

Dear Susan, Thank you so much for your interest in the video and in briquetting. Using electricity in a briquetting process is inevitably and yes it can still be a very renewable energy source. When burning biomass briquettes you will be emitting much less Co2 compared to burning fossil fuels such as oil and gas. Biomass can regrow in a relatively short period of time compared to the cycles of fossil fuels and since biomass absorbs Co2 from the atmosphere while it grows it is seen as a Co2 neutral resource. This is of course in principle. Wether or not biomass is truly Co2 neutral depends a lot about the production techniques, regrowing of the biomass used and alternative potential uses for the relevant biomass. We here at CF Nielsen manufacturer only the briquetting equipment, that transforms the biomass into valuable fuel. However it is important that all the other mentioned factors surrounding the briquetting line is handled in a responsible way in order to make the line truly renewable. Hopes that answers your question.
