    Good informative video. Thank you and keep them coming. I've had my Brompton for 11 years. It's great; even been used for a cycle camping trip from Passau to Vienna with all the gear in the touring bag and large saddle bag.

    Mirrors my experience after a couple of years with my S2L. Once you’ve got used to the handling it’s a hoot zipping through the city. Quick off the mark too. They aren’t cheap but I think they are value for money. Live with one and you appreciate the thoughtful design and high build quality. Like you never an issue taking it anywhere, it’s odd people just don’t give it a second look when folded.

    • @CycleEveryday

      Yes definitely. Seems strange now even thinking about riding anything else. At first thought I might have an issue taking in shops and so on but like you said, no one even notices half the time.

      @@CycleEveryday yeah I also have a CX that I barely use now, the Brompton just handles so well - as long as you treat it with respect. The CX feels like I’m riding through wet sand in comparison. My only regret is I didn’t buy a Brompton years ago.

    My only concern before purchasing this bike. I hear that it's rather twitchy and bumpy, but can u safely have just one hand on the handle bar while going at medium speed, 10 - 15 mph? Ex. when u need to reach for a quick drink from a bottle of water?

    Thank you for the video. After not riding my own bike for two years (Ladies Carrera hybrid), I had the opportunity earlier this week to try a couple of e-bikes, including the electric Brompton. It was my first ever ride on an e-bike, I was so impressed with the Brompton e-bike, that I’ve been watching RUclips videos about Brompton ever since. As much as I really enjoyed the electric Brompton, my affordability would more realistically be one of the C-Line non electric models.

  • @SlotCar2021
    @SlotCar2021 2 года назад +1

    Thought about a Brompton but then saw a Carrera intercity with 20 inch wheels and disc brakes. It doesn't fold as small but folds in 10-15 secs . I have used it for 7 months. Fast and very light weight with aluminium frame. I use it in combination with the bus to get to work. I would consider a Brompton in the future for the more compact fold though.

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  2 года назад +1

      I had a folding electric bike before, and that’s the main reason why I went with the Brompton for the folding. 👍

      @@CycleEveryday I am not sold on electric purely, batteries need replacing every few years and that can't be good for the enviroment. Utilising public transport and a folder is much better option. Buses we have use biogas which is significantly cleaner than diesel. I think hydrogen is the way forward and more investment in cycling infrastructure.

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  2 года назад +1

      Yes I think that the batteries is problematic. But I think that for some electric bikes encourage using a bike over a car which can only be positive. Public transport is good too and the Brompton is perfect for that if you use a combination to get around 😀👍

    • @fender1000100
      @fender1000100 Год назад +1

      I have a carrera intercity too. It's a great budget folder. But at 13kg it's not that light. I shaved nearly 2kg off the weight though. By losing the rear rack and fenders. And upgrading the tyres and tubes from kenda Kwests to Schwalbe durano racegaurds, crankset and pedals. Now it weighs 11.2kg and is a fast bike. Can get up to 26 to 28mph on the flat.
      And climbs hills like a dream.

      The Brompton is as good now as it was when I had it. Had to change a few parts such as brake pads and tyres, but no problems with frame etc. I have now done well over 2000km on it and very happy with the build of it. Built to last and loads of really old Brompton’s online which is another good indicator that they last well. Hope that has answered your question?

    Getting a brompton at the moment is hard. I have wanted the white model with either 3 or 6 speeds but nothing in stock. I suppose it's the covid effect. I really appreciate your review which is honest and direct. As previous reviewer said the audio is a bit unclear. Please tell us more about the bag on the front of the brompton, what model is it and how do you find it?

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  4 года назад

      Hi Caroline. Thanks for the comment. Yes you are right the audio wasn't the best due to the wind and time of year. I did a review on the bag a few videos ago. The link is here if you would like to see it: ruclips.net/video/Bi2SRIvg1zY/видео.html
      Very good bag and use every single time I go out on the Brompton.
      I got the bag from Amazon in the end, and it is the Brompton Borough Roll Top Bag but also known as the new 2020 T-Bag. You can get these on eBay and from Brompton directly and is £130.00 on the website today. You might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere though.
      I know what you mean in regards to trying to get hold of a Brompton. We are also on the lookout again for a second hand one for my son, and think my wife is looking to get one at some point too. Checking on the Brompton website just now and there are none in stock at all, except the electric versions. I suppose the other options are to find a local Brompton dealer, or look on eBay to try and pick one up. Be wary though as some of the second hand ones we have looked at are selling for more than a brand new one, so unless you are really desperate, might be worth waiting until Brompton start to stock back up again. Think we got lucky with ours.

      @@CycleEveryday Hi, thanks for your response. Just had a look at your video review of the 2020 t bag - am convinced now this is the ideal set up for me. I think I could squeeze enough stuff in there for a short touring holiday. Hoping Brompton factory are able to satisfy demand soon! I was unsure of whether to go for the 3 or 6 speed. However, after your experience of the 3 speed and the lighter weight of the 3 speed hub I would go for this also. Keep making the vids, we brompton wannabees need our fix. Cheers.

      Thanks! Glad you found it useful. Think it’s a brilliant bike and great how you can add bags to it and make it your own. The front block on the bag is limited to 10kg, so might be worth considering a Brompton with a rack as well as that might come in useful for a touring holiday. A little bit more expensive but worth thinking about. I hope you get one soon! Will be interested to know how you get on and hope that you enjoy it when you finally get one! 😀

    Great opinion and that your happy with the bike, as I had one and couldn't fault it. Only that myself I like to chop and change bikes and experience different rides, like kids in a toy store. Personally I think the price equals emotion, as people wouldn't pay it if they weren't happy too.

      Thanks for that Stan. Well as I have said in a previous comment, I personally find Km’s much easier to follow in terms of riding a bike. Sorry to hear you struggle with Km's as a concept, although it is a widely used method to measure distance, speed etc especially when discussing bikes. In regard to converting it from km's to miles, there are lots of great apps out there that will easily do this, or simply googling it will also give you the answer too 👍
