@@edmondlau511 Most hardware stores should have it, or order it online. It comes in a yellow tube, one or two ounces. Sometimes it's in the adhesives section, but I've also found it in the automotive section. It smells like vinyl swimming pool patch adhesive, but it is oil AND gasoline proof.
I saw a guy put it on the handle. Then he grabbed it and his hand covered it up. I just ordered a couple EZ spouts. Tired of my "safety" spout leaking gas all over my mower.
Hahahahaha yeah that didn't make much sense. I have really enjoyed my EZ SPOUTS it makes fueling up so much easier. Thanks 4 watch, please like and subscribe.
Step drills work best in plastic. Twist drills tend to grab and screw themselves into the plastic, leaving a jagged hole that's guaranteed to leak. And spade bits are for cavemen.....don't be that guy. You can mark the step drill bit with a red sharpie on the next size above the hole you're aiming for to help prevent over-drilling it.
You can use them all if you are careful. The only reason I used a regular drill bit is because that's the most common for people at home watching. The key to all of them is just take your time and not get in a hurry. Thanks for watching Danny I appreciate it. Please like and SUBSCRIBE. :)
I haven't had any problems with it so far I was just trying to keep the vent off of a seem because it will crack. You can always use a tire valve stem as a vent if you remove the Schrader valve.
It’s supposed to be a 31/64 inch hole. Not a 1/2 inch hole. That is 1/64 inch smaller hole than 1/2 inch. It will be a little difficult to get the vent cap inserted into the gas can with the smaller hole, but that will ensure that the vent cap doesn’t leak.
Just another product with a smooth-brained idiot for a designer. Design it for a 1/2" hole so the user doesn't have to locate a 31/64" bit. Duh.....Must be the same idiot that designed the battery holder for my Seadoo jetski. It is literally the worst designed battery hold down that I gave ever seen, and I have seen a lot of bad ones.
It's still possible to get shavings in it no matter which way really. I just rinse the can out with water several times to double check it. Thanks for watching! 😊 Please Like & Sub
@@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING Rinsing it out will no longer work. If you have a Sceptor brand can, the outlet is no longer flush with the wall of the can (inside).
if you put the vent where you said how is your can going to vent with fuel there? There's a reason you never saw a manufacturer back when it was legal put a vent where you put yours.
I would not drill into a metal gas can unless you purge the gas fumes by filling it up with water first, or you'll wind up in the hospital. You are better off just getting a plastic can if you're gonna do all that work. Thanks for watching. I hope this helps! Please like and subscribe
@@larrybottone1264 I got mine from Amazon. 20 for about $8. You can buy less, but they go quick. Friends and neighbors, relatives. I just mailed 4 to a retired co-worker. I'm probably going to order another 20.
@@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING well that’s great. I took out the bleeder, put some Seal-All around it and stuck it back in. Now it works like a champ haha
Presentation was excellent. Thank you very much!
Thanks seems like a simple thing to do but never having done this it is great to watch it first. Thank you for takong the time to post this.

Use a little bead of "Seal-All" adhesive to make it 100% leakproof. It is oil AND gasoline resistant.
Truthfully I mine hasn't even leaked. I guess I was lucky. Thanks for watching! Please Like & Sub
Is that available at most hardware stores?

I guess depending on the can I get, if it's similar to this one, I'll put it in the handle from the side. Horizontal
Just try not to put it on the mold seam so it doesn't split open over time. Thanks for watching, please LIKE & SUB :)

When you pour won't the vent be covered by gas. It seems that you should put it on the slope surface.. just asking for a friend.

Mine don’t leak and I used a half inch bit

I drill up with the tank upside down to prevent the chips from falling to the bottom

Thats my only concern is bits of plastic in the can.
Also best to use a brushless drill.
HAHAHAHA True!

How much of a plastic is getting into the can which can then get into your filter
None because i just rinse it out with water then let it air dry.
Would it work on a metal gas can also?

get that plastic in the tank, and enjoy carbeurator headaches
Just since it out with water or used compressed air and there's no more plastic.
Yes, because it's impossible to clean out a gas can
can you drill it with gas in it?
You shouldn't but, if you have to for some life or death reason, make sure its a brush less drill so there isn't an ignition source.
where do u get the vents
Ebay I believe.
They’re on Amazon

Rural king has these in stock.
Or you could have just used the 1/2 inch drill bit in the first place! 🙄
It's always better to drill a pilot hole just to be safe.
Queston of the day is.. why can't those who make the gas cans use put a fkng vent on them in the first place?!
And it will leak like crazy
