Airplane wing mounted rotary spark generator, Westinghouse SCR73

Airplanes completely changed the way wars were fought. WWI was their first significant use. Radio communication would have also been very modern tech at the time, and incredibly valuable for real time communication. Pairing the two, in 1918, led to a very complicated job for pilots!
