The thing that impresses one the most is not just the professor’s knowledge. That is a given. What truly impresses is the clarity and precision of exposition. Quite superb. But I suppose that clarity and precision of exposition of some material is the hallmark of true knowledge.
As a lifelong student, I've encountered a great many teachers. Prof. Balakrishnan is, hands-down, the most impressive & most talented teacher I've ever known. I will always think of him with the utmost respect and affection.
Sir, if I had a teacher like u....I WOULD HAVE FOUGHT for the FIRST BENCH... Truly one of the best set of vids that helped me understand RP in a better way🙂
Someone below asked about a text. For the initial lectures the Mathematical Physics text by Prof Balakrishnan (chapters 19-21 or so) goes well with the lectures. It is fun to work out problems from his textbook and use these lectures as an aid, or vice versa. When you read the text you get the sense that Prof Balakrishnan is talking to you, just like he does in the lectures. The text really ought to be much more widely read. It doesn't seem to be popular outside of India, although I think I saw a recent edition by Springer.

That's very dense and deep philosophical lecture and at the same time fascinating too!!!
Dear nptelhrd: Please upload lectures from Dr. Balakrishnan on QED or QFT!

Look at his green's function tutorial. there he has taught dimensional regularization, It might help you. :)
Maestro of the subject. 💯

The book on Mathematical Physics is great... It just has one problem. It is very expensive
35:11 when he made that connection, it honestly blew my mind.
How did I get here I’m just trying to learn how to trade options lol
Brilliant. Thank you!
Great help sir!
