    All you're doing is pumping the grey water from the tank. Solids and scum layer stay behind. The tank will be back to operating level in a few weeks so you've accomplished absolutely nothing. Also a bit deceiving for potential buyers of your property. Pumping the water out could mask other major issues within the system. It's a pay me now or pay me later type of thing. These are the tanks I spend hours cleaning and it ends up costing double or triple what it would cost to have a normal cleaning, not to mention leaving the solids in the tank could potentially lead to drain field failure....

    Very informative. Where do you take this stuff? Do you have to have permit to take to waste facility? A 275 gallon tank will be around 2,200 lbs. weight. What is your truck axel rated for? Can you set one of these on a 8x10 utility trailer? This is smart if you do it right. Thanks for sharing.

    • @bmaiceman
      @bmaiceman 4 года назад +3

      Allow me to help hear.... NO I would not put that tank FULL of liquid on an 8x10 trailor... Unless you have a MAJOR AXILE set up on it. Also transporting raw sewage requires a special endorsement on your drivers license. Not just any Joe can do it. Except if it's in the holding tank on an RV Or Camper... Especially in a tank on a trailor or in the bed of a truck. The load is in greater danger of release in an accident that way. Also I don't know of any sewage processing center that would let any Joe blow pill up in a truck with a load in a tank and DUMP. That would raise all kinds of red flags.
      So most likely what he does is 1 Go to his home or another home with sewer lines going to city sewer and pump the tank out into the clean out... OR 2 go to a camping dump station and DUMP there... However getting cought dumping that tank in a camper dumping station would mean Buu Cou TROUBLE!!!!!

      @@bmaiceman You don't need endorsements on your license to transport sewage... I drive a vacuum truck for the state of California and the only thing I needed was a class cll drivers license because the truck I drive is under 26,000 lb gvw but no special endorsements except filing a liquid waste disposal permit with the local municipality That's why they make slip in tank units for pickups, towable vac tanks, and even have vacuum tanks for boats to do marine tank pump outs while on the water. Human waste is not usually considered hazardous waste.

    I just used a wet/dry shop vac on my tank after mixing the tank with a mixing blade on my 1/4 horse drill.
    Works great and was super cost effective. You can pump it into whatever sized container which you have a means to haul.

    When I had them come out before, I watched the guy pump out our 1000 gallon septic tank. This was about five years ago. After he pumped all the liquid from the inlet he used our garden hose to break up the sludge. I don’t know if that works. Does anyone here know if that’s the standard way that commercial companies do that?

      pretty much, they have to break up the solids into a sort of slush that can actually be sucked up through the hoses, just imagine the last time you got a SUPER thick milkshake and couldn't suck it up the straw. that's the difference between it being done right and what this guy is doing which is just pumping out the liquid on top, not to mention it's IMMEDIATELY deceitful for him to say "don't go spending 3 or 400 bucks" just grab this $400 worth of simple equipment that literally no one has just laying around save maybe the extra pieces of pvc, what a joke.
