Here's how you fix it, rename it the Superstar Shakeup because you can't be drafted to a brand you are already on! Also have wrestlers be drafted to NXT and not just from NXT!
I love this! Have the Superstar Shakeup on Friday after Wrestlemania. Most people agree that all major storylines should end at Wrestlemania. Have the Superstar Shakeup start on Smackdown and end on NXT. Then, we get a month and a half to build up new storylines for the next PLE.

My personal gripe with recent drafts is how NXT can have their wrestlers poached by other brands but can't take people in return.
That solidifies the perception of it being minor league instead of the third brand it is alledgedly supossed to be. Even if they just take people that aren't being used aside from Main Event and Dark Matches, it would be at least something.

Kabuki Warriors were drafted not the championship, so theoretically they can float only for championship matches until Bianca and Jade win and then they are stuck on their own brand. And yes it was trash, so many picking those they already had, no great surprise and no-one shocked to see an old rival turn up (maybe Ray and Dom but that was funny not fear) What they should have done is have announced negotiated "contract superstars" (including all those booked for backlash) and then draft the uncontracted, ie nxt or TNA or minor stars or a high profile Brock who just priced himself out or Punk that played games when negotiating a contract. The only shock here was Stroman, and that was just a matter of time anyway.
Cole said the women’s tag titles will still be active in all three brands. So Kabuki Warriors still gotta defend them anywhere. Want Jade/Bianca to win them. Powerful tag time.

I like the free agency concept. Making deals with smaller independent wrestling companies to get some more publicity to their brand to get more clout and the feel of the wrestlers actually being a free agent without being one until the “sign” with raw or smackdown. It will give the better illusion of a sport industry
I think THE biggest issue with this year. Is that it was very safe. Not much changes outside of a few and all the champions where exempt outside of Women Tag.
Which the Women's Tag are classified as an unbranded championship and has always been allowed to be defended in any brand. This is definitely something to think about with the Speed championship as the tournament for the belt involved wrestlers across all 3 brands.

I started watching wrestling in 2010 when I was 12 and i remember in the early 2010's there were still draft matches. I would love to see draft matches and general managers making picks return

Well the Women’s tag champs are free to travel to all 3 brands but the team still has to have a home brand. So when the Kabuki warriors lose on Saturday, they be on raw and new champs, Bianca and Jade, will be free to roam which is an excellent way to keep showcasing Jade on all shows.

Speaking about non-compete clause, the FTC has voted on banning it. They voted on it back on April 23rd the rule will take effect in 120 days of from that date. That means starting September any wrestler that gets released from any company and show up anywhere the day after.
The women's tag champions are drafted to Raw but the titles are open. As long they have them they are on any brand. When they lose them they the champions are locked down to whatever roster they were drafted to.

I think this year’s draft underperformed. I was expecting tag teams/factions to be broken up, wrestlers who were on a show and did nothing and moving to a different show.
I guess for storyline purposes I think it makes sense, but it didn’t change much.
Also, I get certain wrestlers that are out due to injuries and personal issues not being drafted, so what does that mean? Are they considered to be free agents? Or they can show up on any of the 3 shows?
I agree. They need to make the draft mean something. Like having REAL implications. I know with the higher ups, they don't want to split couples and if a show is doing bad with viewership, they can just use talent from the other show to help. For my fix, I have certain groups doing certain things. For Independent talent, they can submit their name like how an NFL player would to declare for the draft and get sent to NXT, or either Raw or Smackdown. For NXT, they can submit their name for the draft and if he/she is not selected, you remain in NXT. The main roster will automatically be in the draft and if you don't get selected, you go down to NXT (I think we need 3rd main show for the amount of talent). If NXT doesn't select you, then you are released. If they want to be serious about a draft, then they have to be serious about their brand split and trust their talent from both brands can carry that show to their standards. Cena carried Raw. Batista carried Smackdown. Stuff like that.

The women's tag titles are defended on all brands. Because WWE doesn't keep female tag teams together long enough to have three separate women's tag championships.
This how u fix the wwe draft, just have the draft for the nxt star they either go to raw or smackdown or just stay on nxt or just go back to the old draft when it random.

The brand should be competitive with itself... like I want to draft ppl with this or that storyline goin on or how can we change said storyline by adding this or that elements to it... and yes make free agents feel worth it.... especially on nights when theirs an open challenge... so as the cream of the crop rises the bottom can develop just as fast or fall and you know what you really got on your hands for that year.

I'm curious if you adjusted for inflation for around the time of the attitude area. Would WWE still be making still be making more money now than the attitude area? Anyway, the draft needs to be revamped.
They already brought over TNA talent to appear at the Royal Rumble. But I like the idea of the undrafted being Free Agents, allowed to do work at other promotions.

I feel one way to really make it feel like a draft is not announcing all of the picks at once, it just makes it look scripted when neither RAW nor SmackDown end up having the same draftee. They should instead announce the beginning of a round, and have some executive or someone repping the brand to come out periodically to announce the draft pick. Even have it announced during a match, maybe even bave someone get drafted during their match, to give it more of a wildcard feel to it.
I also think another cool idea would be to implement Survivor Series into this. Have some sort of RAW vs SmackDown match that determines either who gets the first draft pick for winning, or first pick at a champion of their choice, whether it be Men's, Women's, Midcard, and Tag Team. Basically no champion can be drafted until the winning brand drafts their first title holder.
Also in regards to the Women's Tag Titles, since there's only one set of belts, the champions defend them on both shows. Once they lose the belts, they return to the brand they were initially on.
Main thing with the woman’s tag champs the holders of those titles are able to go all 3 brands but once they loose the belts Damage ctrl loose the belts they will be on raw
True it doesn't make sense if you're drafted on smackdown or raw but just staying on that brand
I think a true draft would just be a draft of the NXT superstars to Raw or SmackDown... maybe it can be an inaugural 10; 5 to Raw & 5 to Smackdown, & both shows take turns... as with real sports, they acquire talent to add to their roster, from College: drafting from the NXT pool to the two shows would be just like it.
THEN, we can do a superstar shakeup between Raw & Smackdown.
What I don't like seeing is scenarios where the draft isn't equal: ie. Raw selects Seth... Smackdown selects the Judgment day... Raw selects Nia Jax... Smackdown selects the Bloodline... I wish theyd make the draft rounds have equality: such that 1st round, they draft Stand-alone male superstars. 2nd round: stand alone women. 3rd: male tag-teams, 4th: female tag teams, 5th: whole factions...

The original concept for the women’s tag team title was to present them on all shows, including NXT. For some reason it never worked. NXT have their own women’s tag titles.
All facts. I hope they change the format of the draft. It was very underwhelming, and I hate the fact that Bron Breakker got drafted to Raw even though he signed a SD contract, just really dumb.

AEW works with NJPW I believe; their concept works for me. As for WWE, they peudo-shuffle for only having two flagship shows. Revive ECW...I dare say.
This draft was too safe. Champions cant move. They basically kept their rosters (with a few excpetions). Too few NXT call ups (though to be fair, the ones that got called up were the best).
My changes:
1) Champions are NOT safe
2) NXT gets picks
3) Do it right after Wrestlemania. Dont let storylines start until after the draft. You can tease them, but don't start them in earnest until afterwards.
They need to revert the Draft back to what they did from 2007-2011.
A set number of TV matches with any number of wrestlers from each brand and the winning wrestler(s) get (a) draft pick(s) for their brand and a computer selects a wrestler randomly

The Draft should be the people that are picked are definitely moved.. Everyone else stays but the picks are for people you want for your show. Basically top stars move

i agree the draft was trash only thing i can say is in regard to the Women's Tag Champs the Women's Tag Titles are not exclusive to any one brand they go fight any Women's Tag Teams across the Brands but if The Kabuki Warriors lose the titles then they will remain on Raw it really only matters for Main title purposes like they can fight for The Women's World Title and that's it so basically Bayley's safe from Damage control in regard to title fights.

Since they want to make NXT a legit 3rd brand, put NXT in a position where they can draft some talents. Realistically I know they won’t be able to draft a Becky Lynch or some main event superstar but they should @ least pick some talents out of the supplemental draft.

WWE Should Have Their Draft Around The Same Time as Survivor Series/War Games Where You Can Do A Proper Smackdown Versus Raw Invasion Angle.
Wwe should do this for the draft
Let the GMs restrict at least 3 people per show. Obviously that would be champs but doesn't have to be imagine a scenario where you have Roman Seth Cody Punk on 1 show with Seth as champ. Roman Punk Cody arguably being bigger stars cause push a gm to sacrifice his champion for the bigger draws. Then for the draft itself do raw vs smackdown winner gets a pick for their brand and either used the random system from back in the day or add up the picks and have the gms pick the next day. Like if have 14 picks in total from 14 matches. They can split 7-7 or raw could be over 9-5. Make it about the gms not the wrestlers adam could show off having more picks then nick. Have the focus being on Adam wanting more picks to make Raw the best show. Aldis would really need to make his 5 picks count. Drafting to the same show is stupid but now it makes more sense Aldis can grab seth with his 1st pick and now only have 4 left for nxt and raw stars and seth can take not being a restricted star personal. adam can get cocky with 9 picks and overlook steals that Aldis grabs. Amd out of the 14 not picked. Have them show up on different shows to fight for contracts or have them stay on their respective brand but feel disrespected that the gms didn't see highly in them. 14 is low but its just an example maybe 1 match can add 5 picks or something but if that's the case then get rid of drafting people back on to the show they are on
Couple of issues. Free agents should be true free agents, meaning" no contract."This should be used if wwe knows they want to release a talent. free agents they want to keep can be given situations to earn contracts with that brand. NXT should be the defacto supplemental draft. The last chance for Free agents to earn a contract or they are released. Why have someone hold a spot when the company has no idea what to do with them. Next use the rounds to shake up the titles picture. Upper drafted peeps are pigeoned into the world title scene. middle round means mid title. lower picks means you are the fool in the ring with no music when the star makes his or her entrance. Treat the brands separate and wrestlemania is the world series or superbowl between the brands to get fresh unseen dream matches. use nxt to repackage talent and form stables that may get drafted the following year. released FA can sign with tna,aew, new Japan,etc immediately after they are released.
