I can’t believe you are covering this story. It happened in my hometown. We lived about a mile up the road from them. My mother was at the funeral and witnessed the murder. We were so afraid to play outside!! People would say Maxwells car could be seen driving around at night after his murder!!
I would just like to say that if you were to add pictures while you are narrating the story of the people you are talking about, it would enhance your storytelling as it connects a face to a particular deed. Whether that deed be murderer, victim, lover, witness or whatever.
When I asked them about him, they said that he was a good friend of the family. My Aunt said whenever he came around she would run from him bc he gave her the creeps.
Came here from a British podcast covering this story. They were like “there’s no voodoo in this story” and I’m like nope let me go hear this story from somebody that look like me 😂😂😂
I was scrolling through RUclips and was shocked to see the title. I immediately went back in time. Ophelia was my aunt, Shell was my cousin and Robert is my cousin. Will Maxwell’s name (as I heard it growing up) always brought a lot of whispers and eerie feelings when my family spoke of him. Although it is a public story, I’m glad you did not post pictures of the victims because this is still painful for the family.
Not true. She could and did drive, a jeep in fact. I knew these people and the voodoo angle is a stretch. I used to live there, and I did not hear much about that voodoo part.
I changed my 1st tire on the side of the road in Baltimore the other day with a million men that walked past not 1 offered to help but was begging for money I'm kinda happy they didn't help me bc now I know how to do it on my own
I was a teenager when this happened and Iived about 6 miles from where the Maxwells lived. We drove by his house every time we went to my grandfather’s house. I remember my daddy warning us about the “voodoo preacher.”

Love love love how you told the story. But my question is why didn't the second wife didn't think that he would get rid of her too if he got rid of the first one
Willie Maxwell choked her to death. That’s why they wrote it off like that in the cause of death, as if it was a pulmonary disorder. He broke her neck by choking her out but she expired after loss of oxygen…couldn’t catch her breath. Smdh Rest to ALL of his victims. It’s sad! 🙌🏾❤️😇🕊️✨
