- In todays video I react to The Stupendium's 2023 Remaster of "The house always wins." The house always wins is a song based on the Fallout: new Vegas Character Robert House, who is a main character of the game.
Fallout: new Vegas is one of my top 5 favorite games, and I'm planning either streaming, or making a playthrough series.
Here's a link to the Stupendium's channel!

I feel like Yes man falls under the Benny card since he's Benny's little secret project, or not being there due to Mr House not knowing of Yes mans existence
That's a good observation, and very well may be the case!

Which faction do you guys choose in Fallout new vegas? Let me know!
I kinda just Ncr, i like wiping out the legion but also giving other factions a bit of freedom expect for mister hosue wich i kill tho i forgot by now
@@lop90ful1 The NCR is kinda mid in my opinion, too much bureaucracy, and not enough action.
I also typically go for NCR. I think it's the best of bad options.
The problem with autocracy is that even an ideal ruler is temporary and no man rules alone. The securitrons help mitigate this, allowing the ruler to rule essentially alone. For this reason, I am not suitable to rule.
House has effective immortality, and is both integrated into computer systems and the securitrons. In theory he could be a fitting autocrat, but he's a bad one, showing no real interest in anything other than securing his own power as a petty dictator.
Caesar's Legion are just straight up full blown imperialist evil, and not even with anything of value at the end of it.
The NCR, meanwhile, has the issue that, while it's the best compromise in the absence of an ideal autocrat, in reality it's bloated, stretched too thin, and massively corrupt. It neither has the capacity nor interest to effectively govern the Mojave, nor even to secure it's stake in the Mojave from foreign aggression. My frank assessment is the NCR is heading into a collapse.
@@seigeengine The Old world blues mod for Hearts of Iron 4 definitely can give some insight into the different possibilities that could occur under each faction.
Playing as New Vegas, there's some interesting options that can be chosen to secure, and protect the strip.
House is the type to get things done, and I think, if given time, and the chance, He would likely work towards rebuilding society. That definitely includes a ton of violence, and outsider help, but not impossible. A very idealistic goal.
I really don't agree that Mr. House would engage in any rebuilding not directly related to the expansion of his own immediate power. He has no grander vision or ambitions. He's caught up in some strange desire to recreate the old world's vegas while simultaneously trying to criticize the other factions for recreating the past(?!?!?). He has no desire to create a functional society on a larger scale either.
And that lack of grander vision will ultimately see his fall. He can't actually resist the brunt of the NCR or Legion. He can dissuade them by holing up in his fortress and playing them off one another, but he's reliant on the NCR for an influx of resources, and the Legion for distracting the NCR away from prioritizing taking over his little kingdom anyway. So even what meager benefits he offers the people of the Mojave are transient and will ultimately see the Mojave swallowed by another power.@@QuasiHobbies
Mr. House all the way. He is an arrogant prick, but a reasonable one.
Definitely! His vision isn't totally screwed.
@@QuasiHobbies He's the only one who doesn't look to the past for answers. The NCR clings to old world democracy and the Legion has reverted to the ways of ancient Rome, but House has a plan for the future. He's a visionary who sees how he can best help civilization survive and thrive once more. Some however disagree that his means don't justify his ends.
@oliconix3362 Plus, he doesn't use people's lives to get what he needs, aside from the courier. His whole army is comprised of his securitrons. That's at least a little better morally from the NCR, and the complete opposite of the Legion.
