Hungary Updates Immigration Law
Hungary's new immigration law, that took effect on March 1, introduced significant changes, expanding the number of residence permits from 18 to 24, with eight specifically for employment purposes. The flexible "residence permit for other purposes" category has been abolished.
While migrant workers may move within a country to find labor, guest worker programs employ workers from areas outside of the host country. Guest workers are not considered permanent immigrants due to the temporary nature of their contracts.
