Hello! I enjoyed watching your video. Greetings from a new subscriber 👋
Hi there welcome aboard! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
This is your first zoo? Nice! Hope you enjoy the game.
Maybe you already found out, but some tips to get you started:
In the path editor there is a settings tab. There you can toggle things like flattening and tunneling. With tunneling 'off', you don't create a gap next to the path.
When placing barriers you change the length of the barrier. Similar to that you can also adjust the height snapping. You used increments of 2 meters. By reducing snapping, you can get heights that make more sense and simply look better.
In the zoopedia you can find information on required space and fence height for each animal. No need to guess the height of your fences. You can enter a desired amount of animals and see the space requirement for that, so you can plan ahead.
Heatmaps are very useful. You can use it to check if, and where, animals can escape their habitat. You can also see the range of power supplies and water treatment plants. (The staff building in this video wasn't working because it wasn't powered)
Water that is accesible by animals needs to be in range of a water treatment plant, otherwise they get sick from dirty water.
Zoo entrances provide power. When starting a zoo and low on money, it is a good idea to place buildings in range of the entrance's power.
A bit more advanced:
You can drag barriers after placing them. I find it easier to first roughly place barriers of 10m size and then drag them exactly where I want. (20m is the max length, so when you create pieces of that lenght, you can't extend them.)
Null barriers are invisible barriers. When you use them you have to/can create your own fences. This usually looks nicer than the in-game barriers, but also they can't brake, and mechanics need less time to repair them. They are the go-to barrier once you get used to placing the in-game ones :-)
Enjoy
@@maartenverdouw4688 thank you for some tips and tricks there. I realised the building wasn’t powered after haha. Thank you for watching and I’ll take some of these tips into consideration next time I play it! Appreciate it😊
That's different. Really good.
Glad you enjoyed it, it’s a very complex game but fun at the same time.
