Hi Mana! FACT: Japanese anime has been part of every filipino's childhood. Japanese anime dominated philippine television since 1990's. I can vividly remember that I started watching since I am 6 years old. Now I'm 30 but I still watch ghost fighter, slum dunk, fushigu yuugi, flame of recca and etc. during free time. We get to memorize anime songs even we cant understand because of the fact that anime songs and stories are so good!

I understand some words and sometimes I can figure out what's being said based on context clues but I'm a far cry from actually being able to form real sentences.😅😂 But I find Japanese easier to pronounce and memorize, especially if it's a catchy beat, in comparison to other languages.

Mana, most of the Filipino Kids who were born in the 90's love Anime so much. There was a time when most of the TV Stations here in the country have a dedicated schedule for the screen time for anime during weekdays. That is why if you'll ever asked those who were in their late 20's to early 40's, most of them can him or even sing the entire soundtrack of several animés

It’s very easy for us to speak Japanese because you pronounce the letters as is (like syllabicated) which is the same as us Filipinos. I was able to memorize anime songs too when I was younger even if I don’t understand it haha.

Its easy to memorize Japanese songs because of the syllabication and the pronounciation of each word, which is almost exactly as how Filipinos read Tagalog words

I'm just very thankful to the Filipino dubbers that they never dubbed the opening song and the closing song of every anime aired here in Philippines. The result, memorized it by heart. Just had to adjust some lyrics, because memorizing by ear is quite difficult.

During the 90s and early 2000s, local TV here in PH aired multiple anime series that are popular. Aside from iconic Voltes V which was from 70s-80s, the popular ones - Ghost Fighter, Time Quest, Dragon quest, kuro-chan, shin-chan, Fushigi Yuugi and so much more, were the main source of tv entertainment for kids in our generation
