Day 123..! WOW… here we go.. 1 - 2 - 3…!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Of course, I’m still not ON the day, but closing in fast..! Lately, my life has not been my own, but I have been doing the Lord’s work..! I don’t know why I didn’t take the time I was sitting Adoration last night, to pop in the ear buds and catch up. But, here we go..! I’m sure it would have been terribly disappointing, once I ‘caught up’. 😔 Pray for our priests… they are being persecuted from inside the church, as much as outside.. Pray for our bishops.. direct the Pope in Your ways… oh my gosh.. the Lord chose an assortment of misfits for his apostles, 🙄 but who am I to judge..!?!? Obviously, there is a ‘place’ for each of us… no matter how bruised or damaged..! 😔 Fish 🐠🐟 for breakfast..? Absolutely..! You take any ‘food’ Jesus gives you..! By the way I think the old testament passage he's referring to is actually Isaiah chapter 22 starting with verse 15, that section. I loved the parallel to the old testament. I had never heard that connection before.

I got a late start on it but through dedication and dilligence (and listening to it while I do other things) I have caught up to day 123 of the Bible in a Year as well! Going forward I can now listen to them each once per day.
I am going thru Bible in a Year a second time and I went ahead a few days to Day125 so I don't get behind as I am also doing Catechism in s Year which is on Day123. You are doing GREAT as my sister is still trying to get through the first year which she started almost two years ago.🙏

The meaning of 'Vicar' is noteworthy here. Vicar is a person, a person who is authorized to perform the functions of another; deputy. This role is cardinal. Years back, When I was young, in our Catechism class, we were taught about the Pope, may be in Grade III or so. And for the examination, one question is "Who is the visible God? The answer without doubt we give, 'The Pope'. And this understanding continued. Pope Paul VI continued and after several Popes we have now our Pope Francis. For the catechism class, I doubt whether any would dare to frame a question like the one mentioned earlier. But we believe that God lives in each of us. Christ is where you are. Now the role of the Pope very carefully explained in this podcast is striking. It begins by mentioning 'the Vicar' the one person who is authorized to perform the functions of another. Sure he is not the visible God. But the authorized. While performing the functions, being human, the weaknesses remain and often inhibit the role. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock ( the al-habayith, the servant of the servants of God ), also called the Pope. The college of bishops has supreme and full authority over the universal Church, as long as they are united with the Roman Pontiff ( Pope ), otherwise, ha no authority. The bishops exercise this care first, by ruling well their own Churches ( diocese ) as portions of the universal Church, and so contributing to the welfare of the whole Mystical Body. Lord, please guide & strengthen our holy father, Pope Francis and all bishops all over the entire Catholic Church. Praying for all our USA bishops, one each day started May 1 goes thru Oct30 with a special prayer this is through Our Lady of Champion was Our Lady of Good Help. This is a project they do every year. I did it last year and I signed up by email to do it again this year. This is the only Marian shrine that has been approved in the United States. I gave all this info inviting all of CIY to join in the notes I posted on May1 with info to download list of bishops and special prayer.
My husband is a non-Catholic Christian. He was raised Baptist, but had not been to a Church in decade. Nonetheless, for family unity, I contemplated attending a Baptist Church or an Episcopal Church. I was taken by surprise at the lack of unity amongst Protestant denominations. I feel so blessed that as a Catholic we have such structure (albeit imperfect) and this world wide pastoral community. I never did leave the Church, as it turned out my husband wasn’t interested in going to any Church. I’ve been praying for his conversion for 44 years now.

Just a small point of clarification to an awesome presentation.... the role of the al habayith comes from Isa 22:22-25 rather than chapter 21 (for those who care).
I love the connection of the Aramaic word for prime minister in IS 21, and the role of Peter as the Rock, the Pope, and that his buddies would know exactly what Jesus is talking about. Always be in THE COCOON OF THE ROSARY; - and shut out all the politics; that so easily besets. 1 Peter 4 explains the politics in the beginning of the chapter; but then it says the last days are here; and Charity covers a multitude of sins. Come to God as though in a cocoon. The cocoon is the bridge; - AND WE ARE LIGHT WEIGHT BUTTERFLIES. Jesus said when you see TUMULTUOUS things happen LOOK UP YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH! But when I hear that some of our Bishops/Cardinals seem to be 'weakening' vs. 'strengthening' the church by their opposite view of what Jesus taught, it makes me so sad. Day 123 contd ... 3. @ 14:17 ' Roman Pontiff - pontiff means bridge and Pontifex means bridge builder' RFLT - Astonishing. You are the rock. On it the church will be built. Later the role is more clearly explained. Not static. But dynamic. Based on the requirements of the day, the bridges have to be built. The bridge builder. The Vicar of Christ is taking the role of bridge. Sure the mediator between man and God is Jesus himself. That Jesus is instituting this office of the Pontifex. Saint John Paul II said, "A priest is one who directs the attention of man to God and man to man". Here we have the priest of Jesus who takes the role of the bridge builder. A miraculous bridge made for the convent nuns still surprises the structural engineers for its design. Here we have the bridge builder. The Popes, one after the other in various circumstances have convincingly remained playing that role. Are we talking about the bridge or many bridges accomplished in each pope's reign. Startling. And Jesus willed it. When the chasm is wide and deep the pain that goes into the making of the bridge is gruelling. But with help of Jesus sustained by the prayers of the faithful bridges are built. The yearning for reaching heaven the unquestionable goal of the human kind is to be accomplished only by providing the bridge to go across. Here comes the blessed SACRAMENTS which ensures the salvation of the individual who partakes in it. The Pontifex plays the leading role of keeping the hierarchy of the Bishops and priests to allow the faithful to participate in the sacraments, which are the means, the bridge to achieve the goal, of reaching heaven. Among the bishops, can we call the Pope the Chief bridge builder? The Pope , down the line, bishops, the priests ensure the Catholic fold the blessed sacraments. We pray that we are able to develop the required faith and understanding of these bridges, the sacraments, which are painstakingly prepared for us. Ok need some help with this one. My daughter (baptized Catholic) married another Baptized Catholic. They do not practice the Faith and the husband's dad married them. Is their marriage sacremental?
@@KB_2161 so I've done some reading since I posted this. For what I can tell if both of them had renounced their faith as Catholic and were no longer Catholic then their marriage is Sacramental. But if they both were still Catholic in faith and were married by a non Catholic priest in a non Catholic wedding then it is not sacramental unless they had permission from the Church. I'm totally struggling with this but I guess I'll pray on it.

At this time in the USA there is dissension about the Latin mass. Apparently the Pope has degreed it can no longer be said and the Bishops cannot allow these masses. Some people are very upset about it. Please pray to St. Peter, our first pontiff, that he will change our Pope's decision.
The Latin Mass is still allowed in FSSP parishes in the US. Going to the Latin Mass was a turning point for myself and my family to fully enter into Catholicism. It should not be under attack. It's so sad.
Trying to understand why, because the Pope is the head of the bishops, why some feel they can do/say things in opposition to the pope. Please help me understand.
The Pope is still human and humans can make errors or have misunderstandings. If one speaks against the traditions handed down to us from Jesus through the years the error needs to be pointed out even to a Pope. The Pope is guided by the Holy Spirit only when he speaks ????? If the pope is the successor of St Peter and the vicar of Christ, and the bishops the successors to the apostles then who is the successor to St Paul? Are they the the Catechists of the doctrines of the Church from children to professors of theology? Are the pastors of the Church the successors to St Timothy and St Titus? Is the deaconat the successors to St Steven? Why aren't there any Psalms in the New Testament? Certainly we have more motivation to more beautifully regale in poetry since the revelation of Jesus the Lord now than did the psalmists of old. Maybe there should be a collection of hymns and chants included in the NT or at least in an appendix containing them.
There is a feast of St Peter and St Paul; in June. However, I pray their prayer for the whole year. They are colleagues of the Gospel; in the time of their sojourn; and then they are still working; interceding for us; on the other side. They are distinct offices; just as the VM is a distinct office from theirs; she is highest of all the 12 apostles and angels. The meaning of 'Vicar' is noteworthy here. Vicar is a person, a person who is authorized to perform the functions of another; deputy. This role is cardinal. Years back, When I was young, in our Catechism class, we were taught about the Pope, may be in Grade III or so. And for the examination, one question is "Who is the visible God? The answer without doubt we give, 'The Pope'. And this understanding continued. Pope Paul VI continued and after several Popes we have now our Pope Francis. For the catechism class, I doubt whether any would dare to frame a question like the one mentioned earlier. But we believe that God lives in each of us. Christ is where you are. Now the role of the Pope very carefully explained in this podcast is striking. It begins by mentioning 'the Vicar' the one person who is authorized to perform the functions of another. Sure he is not the visible God. But the authorized. While performing the functions, being human, the weaknesses remain and often inhibit the role. Now this podcast clarifies, and reaffirms convincingly the role of 'Vicar' in our universal Catholic Church. . The term Roman Pontiff , Pontiff literally means bridge and 'Pontifex' means 'bridge builder' explains tremendously the role. Thank you Fr. Mike as mentioned @ 02:47 'I am going to read more slowly today because it so dense', the matter is critical. Referring to Scriptures from St. Mathew, Isaiah, Luke, St, John, St.Paul the matter is explained. We pray that the Vicar of Christ, the Pope, never be disoriented by the distractions of the evil one, the Satan, but continue to keep the dignity of the faithful in the Catholic Church while keeping the unity in BELONGING to the New Covenant. The Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the rock of his church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock ( the al-habayith, the servant of the servants of God ), also called the Pope.
The college of bishops has supreme and full authority over the universal Church, as long as they are united with the Roman Pontiff ( Pope ), otherwise, ha no authority.
The bishops exercise this care first, by ruling well their own Churches ( diocese ) as portions of the universal Church, and so contributing to the welfare of the whole Mystical Body.
Lord, please guide & strengthen our holy father, Pope Francis and all bishops all over the entire Catholic Church. I especially pray for our beloved, the Most Reverend Robert Francis Vasa ( Diocese of Santa Rosa ) and the Most Reverend Archbishop Salvatore Joseph Cordelione ( Diocese of San Francisco ), who both remain true in teaching us of Church catechesis on the defense and culture of life, definition of marriage between man and woman, upholding unity of family and a lot more, but above all, the reverence for the Holy Eucharist.

The Pope,.the Bishop of Rome and the successor of Saint Peter is the Vicar of Christ. The College of Bishops in union with the Pope, and never without him, exercises supreme and full authority over the Church. We pray for all Bishops and their mission of Church unity. 🙏
Praying for all our USA bishops, one each day started May 1 goes thru Oct30 with a special prayer this is through Our Lady of Champion was Our Lady of Good Help. This is a project they do every year. I did it last year and I signed up by email to do it again this year. This is the only Marian shrine that has been approved in the United States. I gave all this info inviting all of CIY to join in the notes I posted on May1 with info to download list of bishops and special prayer.
My husband is a non-Catholic Christian. He was raised Baptist, but had not been to a Church in decade. Nonetheless, for family unity, I contemplated attending a Baptist Church or an Episcopal Church. I was taken by surprise at the lack of unity amongst Protestant denominations. I feel so blessed that as a Catholic we have such structure (albeit imperfect) and this world wide pastoral community. I never did leave the Church, as it turned out my husband wasn’t interested in going to any Church. I’ve been praying for his conversion for 44 years now.
Keep praying Dolores and claim your prayer in Jesus name. When we do that and trust, it will happen. 🙏🙂

Symbolism is the bridge to unite the skin to the Divine. Unite the Law of our flesh; - to the DIVINE conception for the arrival of the New Testament. Judgement of Jesus sitting in the flesh. WHAT??? The bridge is the grace to all blessings; - while we see Jesus in the Host. Always be in THE COCOON OF THE ROSARY; - and shut out all the politics; that so easily besets. 1 Peter 4 explains the politics in the beginning of the chapter; but then it says the last days are here; and Charity covers a multitude of sins. Come to God as though in a cocoon. The cocoon is the bridge; - AND WE ARE LIGHT WEIGHT BUTTERFLIES. Jesus said when you see TUMULTUOUS things happen LOOK UP YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH! Across the bridge there's no more sorrow or politics; and we'll never be unhappy again. JUST LIFT UP YOUR HEADS! Live as though Jesus is coming any minute. He might come in the far future; but always live in the NOW.

Fr. Mike, you are doing a great job!! Thank you and your CIY team. I am joyful that our Church is strengthened by the good and faithful bishops, priests and members. But when I hear that some of our Bishops/Cardinals seem to be 'weakening' vs. 'strengthening' the church by their opposite view of what Jesus taught, it makes me so sad. I continue to say - Jesus I Trust in You - - - but it is scary in the face of those who don't follow his words.

Day 123 contd ... 3. @ 14:17 ' Roman Pontiff - pontiff means bridge and Pontifex means bridge builder' RFLT - Astonishing. You are the rock. On it the church will be built. Later the role is more clearly explained. Not static. But dynamic. Based on the requirements of the day, the bridges have to be built. The bridge builder. The Vicar of Christ is taking the role of bridge. Sure the mediator between man and God is Jesus himself. That Jesus is instituting this office of the Pontifex. Saint John Paul II said, "A priest is one who directs the attention of man to God and man to man". Here we have the priest of Jesus who takes the role of the bridge builder. He is not the bridge, but the bridge builder. Terrific. we say the Cross is the ladder to heaven. Is there a ladder builder? St. Joseph !!! Check in the net, for surprises. A miraculous bridge made for the convent nuns still surprises the structural engineers for its design. Here we have the bridge builder. The Popes, one after the other in various circumstances have convincingly remained playing that role. Are we talking about the bridge or many bridges accomplished in each pope's reign. Startling. And Jesus willed it. When the chasm is wide and deep the pain that goes into the making of the bridge is gruelling. But with help of Jesus sustained by the prayers of the faithful bridges are built. The yearning for reaching heaven the unquestionable goal of the human kind is to be accomplished only by providing the bridge to go across. Here comes the blessed SACRAMENTS which ensures the salvation of the individual who partakes in it. The Pontifex plays the leading role of keeping the hierarchy of the Bishops and priests to allow the faithful to participate in the sacraments, which are the means, the bridge to achieve the goal, of reaching heaven. Among the bishops, can we call the Pope the Chief bridge builder? The Pope , down the line, bishops, the priests ensure the Catholic fold the blessed sacraments. We pray that we are able to develop the required faith and understanding of these bridges, the sacraments, which are painstakingly prepared for us. We pray for the the bridge builder, that the orientation of the bridges built remain steady towards the declared goal of being with Jesus our Lord. BlessOurBridgeBuilderOhLord.

Ok need some help with this one. My daughter (baptized Catholic) married another Baptized Catholic. They do not practice the Faith and the husband's dad married them. Is their marriage sacremental?
Were they married in the catholic church by a priest? Any exceptions must be approved by church authority.
@@KB_2161 so I've done some reading since I posted this. For what I can tell if both of them had renounced their faith as Catholic and were no longer Catholic then their marriage is Sacramental. But if they both were still Catholic in faith and were married by a non Catholic priest in a non Catholic wedding then it is not sacramental unless they had permission from the Church. I'm totally struggling with this but I guess I'll pray on it.

What. About the Cardinals?
At this time in the USA there is dissension about the Latin mass. Apparently the Pope has degreed it can no longer be said and the Bishops cannot allow these masses. Some people are very upset about it. Please pray to St. Peter, our first pontiff, that he will change our Pope's decision.
The Latin Mass is still allowed in FSSP parishes in the US. Going to the Latin Mass was a turning point for myself and my family to fully enter into Catholicism. It should not be under attack. It's so sad.
Trying to understand why, because the Pope is the head of the bishops, why some feel they can do/say things in opposition to the pope. Please help me understand.
The Pope is still human and humans can make errors or have misunderstandings. If one speaks against the traditions handed down to us from Jesus through the years the error needs to be pointed out even to a Pope. The Pope is guided by the Holy Spirit only when he speaks ????? I don't remember that technical word. I know it's in the CIY book. One must point this out out of Love and in a respectful way to the Pope . Hope this helps a little.❤🙏

1)I have been concerned too. But things changed when I thought of St Paul; the least of the brethren to why his name was Bro. Small. He wrote to all the Churches; as though he was a journalist of that day; after Christ. Of course, he was a spiritual ship master that journaled everything about his tight ship; the Ship of Zion. In these hard times: our heads are spinning from the Typhoon. St Paul had more than the norm; he was not Protestant; he was a Marion. He had four anchors; when in those days; no ship carried four anchors; the fourth anchor was the Black Madana; the 5 mysteries of the Rosary. St Peter's net held 153 fish. We in the last Days have to pray the Rosary. But if St Paul was the least; because: he killed the host inside of St Stephen; Stephen was stoned. St Paul needed conversion; to how conversion is thought to mean. But Jesus uses "conversion" with a different meaning; Peter was going to fail the church; when he denied the church three times; as Fr Mike explained. Peter was an accomplice when he denied the Lord. Conversion means: if and when you actually get saved. Quote from internet. Quote: Look at Luke 22:32, “But I have prayed for thee (Peter) that thy faith fail not: and when thou are converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Quote: Actually, Peter became converted after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If the pope is the successor of St Peter and the vicar of Christ, and the bishops the successors to the apostles then who is the successor to St Paul? Are they the the Catechists of the doctrines of the Church from children to professors of theology? Are the pastors of the Church the successors to St Timothy and St Titus? Is the deaconat the successors to St Steven?
Why aren't there any Psalms in the New Testament? Certainly we have more motivation to more beautifully regale in poetry since the revelation of Jesus the Lord now than did the psalmists of old. Maybe there should be a collection of hymns and chants included in the NT or at least in an appendix containing them.
There is a feast of St Peter and St Paul; in June. However, I pray their prayer for the whole year. They are colleagues of the Gospel; in the time of their sojourn; and then they are still working; interceding for us; on the other side. They are distinct offices; just as the VM is a distinct office from theirs; she is highest of all the 12 apostles and angels. The question about St Paul and St Peter; - confirms that the Catholic church; having an hierarchy. Prayer: St Peter and Paul bless, the Pope, Fr Mike, Pr Daoust, & his excellency Bishop Poisson.
