- Dachau concentration camp was the prototype of nazi concentration camps. Prisoners lived in constant fear of brutal treatment and torture, at least 32000 people died in the camp. The SS totenkopfverbände guards were trained here to be as brutal as possible, forced labor was used as a method of torture and murder.
