I just tested myself with Med-Surg quizzes from quiz bank on ATI. Usually, If I do quizzes on a topic that I don't read, I would get 50% right; but after watching a couple of your videos, I did a test on a topic that I did not read and I got 80%....it is crazy. You help me see things through...I love it. I will watch your video every day. Do more videos, please.
I got a question, correct me if I am wrong. PPD is a test to know if you are exposed to Mycobacterium tuberculosis right? It is NOT the test to know if you have an active TB. So my question is why choose B? Yes it is postive PPD but it doesnt mean you have active TB. You just wear resp. mask if you have active TB. Hope you answer my question. Can you explain further why B? Thank you very much!
Remember, this is a priority question-- we can tell that by the "...should the nurse do NEXT." We should be thinking safety/ immediate need. The client has a positive PPD reading (yes, this checks for TB), the next action is to place a face mask on the client-- safety! Before you would do any other actions listed, you must put a mask on first. No doing so is a risk that can spread infection. Does that answer your question?
I think it's because you must always assume the worst, since the patient got positive PPD, whether or not has active TB, still the patient hasn't ruled out, therefore safety by wearing the mask is a way of preventing harm to others that has to be considered first.
Hello Kc Josh.... after the PPD check, the next in line would be a chest x-ray. Even if both of these are positive, you are not diagnosed with TB until the "definitive"; which is a SPUTUM culture that goes to the lab for gram stain examination and this can take some time for results. So therefore, they still would most likely prophylatcially start antibiotic therapy. Hope that helped.
thank u for ur time. wa r delegations duties for UAP? for me, I thought B wudve been the answer cos it falls under the delegation, the other options should be assigned to the RN. they will be held accountable if anything happens to the clients which they aren't to care for
Hands down THEE BEST nclex rational explanation video I've ever seen! I shared with all my RN student friends. Please make more!! Thanks so much for ur time.
If wish you were my teacher. I'm one those students who is struggling nursing school. Even though, I was an ace student before entering nursing school. I thought it was going to be easy but I was wrong. I struggled taking exams and quizzes. And I'm still struggling.
Jazzyjeff. 99% of the time CNA has seen most of the patients before your even out of report. .vitals and blood sugars passed to you so u can start your assessing

Thank you. Do you have any videos on "select all that apply" questions?
Lilly Louijuste I do!
I truly appreciate you taking your time to explain this concept! Thanks
Use the purple colored writing when using the gray backgrounds. Much easier to see. Helpful video though. Thanks!
