  • After you make your yarn....whether It's a single or a plied yarn....you will finish it off by setting the twist. To do this you are going to need a knitty-knotty

Hi Christie, have the guys at the hardware store cut it down to 36” for you, it’s easier on the arms...great video!

28 yrs ago when teaching myself to dropspin the book was as clear as whirled peas so I gave up and knitted one ply without setting the twist. Some who only knew commercial yarn criticized my art yarn style. I never finished that sweater. Will find it and reuse that yarn as the man it was intended for didn't pan out... Thank you for being so... you.

Reading comments like yours makes me so happy. I'm so sorry you had to suffer through some criticism in your process. It's a wonderful thing to be able to make ANY yarn at all....very few are even curious enough to attempt to figure it out and still fewer to actually follow through and DO it. Love that yarn. Sit and gaze at it and marvel in the fact that YOU can make something that is uniquely yours. Then, for kicks, search out some videos on how to make art yarn. Art yarn is some of the most expensive yarn in the hand made world because it is 100% unique and only the artist that makes that yarn can offer it.
