    Can this method be used with garlic as well? Thanks for the very helpful video :-)

    • @larrymbouche
      @larrymbouche 2 года назад

      No. This method is ONLY FOR ONIONS. Garlic is for vampires and people with ugly attitudes. Garlic needs to be kept separate until it is mixed into the recipe. Put garlic into everything. That way vampires melt, when they eat your food, like the wicked witch of the west who got wet. Them's the rules.

    How long can onions last like this?

    • @LearnHow2
      @LearnHow2  3 года назад +1

      They should last 8 to 10 months. After 6 months check weekly use any that go soft and discard any that show signs of rot.

      Hi Andy. The problem with outside is damp and possible bacterial infection. Keep safe.

  • @gardengnome3249
    @gardengnome3249 2 года назад

    Do they last longer if not touching? Last year was my first and a big disappointment was the rotted lot 20% or so. I hung them in groups of 4 touching. Unknowingly I followed the prehanging steps but feel something was not right due to my loss.

    • @LearnHow2
      @LearnHow2  2 года назад

      It is important that each onion is thoroughly dried and free from disease before stringing. In the past I have had one onion rot and it has spoiled its neighbours. Keep safe.

      @@LearnHow2 Thanks for the advice. I forgot to check for an answer. It amazes me that from the same bed and the same amount of drying time and the care with which you grow them some will still rot and some won't. Mother nature is a b some times.

    They seem slightly small for onions. You might want to weed more. You should not be seeing weeds at harvest time.
