There is a map available from the Tourist Office in Ipoh and the map shows what the call a Heritage Walk with these stops on the way... walk could be done in a day...
Lovely info.. Glad that you love the ETS Train. It is very punctual.. Ipoh is very relax and suitable for retiree or pensioner.. not as hectic as in KL, Penang or Georgetown. Looking forward for your next video.. ps: you can travel to Cameron Highlands from Ipoh.
You guys are looking fantastic. Slow travel suits you both. Can't wait to see Ipoh. Thanks for all your hard work. It's very much appreciated. Enjoy! ❤️🙏🏴
Thank you very much for the effort you put in your videos, I enjoy it very much. My husband and I also can relate to you as he is a senior manager and I am a senior project manager, in our early 50s and no kids, we are retiring as of Feb 1 😊 and we will hit the road!!! We won’t be travelling full time for now but I can definitely see we heading towards that, we are very excited with retiring and would be great if you make a video about it. Have a wonderful journey and hope we meet one day. All the best, Paula & Felipe

Hey Susan! Thank you, we really, and me mean...Really hope you enjoy the next video, that is the real style that we are moving to that we described in the live stream 👍
first time viewing your video. so my comments are just based on this particular post. very comfortable with the overall presentation as you two seem like a pleasant and friendly couple. and enjoyed much the English humor interjected in betweens and the honest thoughts on your experiences, so keep it up and good luck with your travels
Welcome to my hometown Ipoh. Even though I left Ipoh in the 80’s, I have many fond memories of the place and do miss it a lot. I look forward to see your videos of the town.
We love the trains in SE Asia. Had the pleasure(?) of experiencing the Euston mad dash last year. 😂 I give you credit for having no familiar comforts (especially the bed). We are currently doing hotels and Airbnb’s in Mexico heading to South America in March. I think the older my husband and I get the more we like our comforts. Thinking we will settle down in Colombia. So glad we traveled when we did. Will continue to do so but with a home base. Enjoying your videos. Thank you for your hard work.
Great video you two! Thanks. I just did a quick on-line tour of Ipoh and it looks like you are in for a treat!! Anticipating next week's video! Have fun!!
6:05 Ipoh is the 4th biggest (not the 2nd) city in Malaysia after KL, JB and Georgetown..I guess after Ipoh u guys will going to Georgetown, a place which have everything which u guys will enjoy..
Looks good! Looking forward to seeing what Ipoh has to offer as Malaysia is on our list to visit. We’ve been to Penang and want to see more. Have fun guys 😊
Yes, Ipoh was a mining town (tin), and Perak was the 1st Malay state to came under the British administration and the richest state in Malaya before the Japanese occupation in WW2. Before independence, Perak had the best infrastructures in Malaya and probably in South East of Asia.
Did you have a chance to visit the Cameron Highlands? We hired a car and drove up there from Pangkor/Lumut, another place to visit near by. Good for a couple of days. Ipoh also has a good sized airport.
Glad I have found your channel again -- and subscribed this time ! I am sure you will enjoy Ipoh. It has a lot to offer and rail links are great . However , the main bus station is quite far out of town . By the way , I seem to recall some time back you mentioned suggestions for secure and convenient methods of payment whilst on prolonged tours . Are you still happy with Revolut ? Many thanks, good health and Happy Chinese new year .
Ipoh is a capital of Perak state, after Georgetown, was probably formerly Malaysia's third-largest city, although I'm not sure if that distinction still belongs to Johor Bahru today. Ipoh is a peaceful city that is good for retirees. Like the famous Malaysian artist Michelle Yeoh (the James Bond's girl), I was born in Ipoh, where I am aware that many of the older buildings here were built during the colonial era. Ipoh is well known for its Chinese cuisine. You could inquire the locals about the best places to eat in Ipoh. Despite being smaller than Georgetown or KL, I believe it is worthwhile for you to slowly explore the city.
My train experience in New York City! To make it worse, they changed the trains and gate three times. I couldn't help but wonder how do disabled people handle this?
The Bedrock looks wonderful. Would definitely consider staying there on a trip to Ipoh. Breakfast is better eaten at a local kopitiam in Ipoh. Try New Hollywood Restaurant. A variety of local delicacies, people from KL drive to Ipoh just to eat at New Hollywood.
Very informative video regarding using the train in KL. Question: you mentioned scanning a code on your phone. Did you use an app to purchase your tickets?
I went through staring at the big board in London, I decided to ask an officer and he pointed me to the right direction. I had to run and jump into the train while the doors were closing.
Is Malaysia easy to get around by train .was going to go to Bali for a month from Singapore but have seen a lot about the street dog slaughter for human consumption in Bali so have decided not to go
Really engaging even without doing too much on location footage. We are trying to find a balance to this. We will be back in Asia this year. Been missing it. Malaysia, however will have to wait a little longer. Cheers to 2023 being epic for your travel channel and ours. - Turtle
Ipoh is definitely not the 2nd largest city in Malaysia...I would think either Georgetown, Penang or Johor Bahru or even Kuching, Sarawak to be the 2nd largest..
Georgetown is 2nd..Ipoh is definitely bigger than JB. JB dont even have a proper city center. Ipoh and Georgetown do have a proper city layout. Kuching definitely not as big as Ipoh. But if you compare area size then I think probably JB and Kuching is bigger.
The central JB is one of the smallest in Malaysia but the metropolitan JB can be the third largest. even within a few years it could overtake Georgetown as the second largest.
Guys, are you back to your exercise routine? You've packed up a few pounds. I have been a bit lazy for the past few weeks and gained some too. It happens so easily. So now I went back to my morning routine.
Malaysia is nice to adventure, green and healthy foods. Singapore got nothing adventure only condominiums 😞😔
welcome to Malaysia we appreciate
OMG Just found you. Thanks. I'll keep watching.🌠 and learning.
!Squeal!
I'm SO happy to see you guys in Ipoh. I was there for 10 days in Nov 2022. I loved the people, the food & the climate.

The British gov those days dug up perak state and selangor state for tin. We were the no. 1 tin exporter long ago (in the world)

I like ipoh. Not so crowded like KL.
Looking forward to seeing what Ipoh is like. You should do a stay in Penang too 😊
We will!

I assume Penang will be your next location. You will need at least a week in Penang, coz there are so many things to do there.
Good to see you trying a new mode of transport, we love trains too. Happy New Year, hope to see you somewhere this year in the great outdoors.
Did you have a chance to visit the Cameron Highlands? We hired a car and drove up there from Pangkor/Lumut, another place to visit near by. Good for a couple of days. Ipoh also has a good sized airport.
Ipoh White Coffee 😋

If you still in Ipoh, I like to suggest for you to go Kuala Kangsar, very nice and peaceful town to relax
Thanks for the tip!
Ipoh - the birth place of Michelle yeoh. Golden globe winner and hopefully academy awards.
Nice video 👍🏻😊
Thank you 😊
Great video. ✌
Next Taiping (City of first) , the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar then only then to Penang
My train experience in New York City! To make it worse, they changed the trains and gate three times. I couldn't help but wonder how do disabled people handle this?
It is not colonial style building (the train station) it is built by the British when they are here.

@@patrickjebireden1286 Cheers to that. Will be there soon.

Totally, I was thinking that's a factual error. Ipoh is not the 2nd largest, no matter which parameters you use
Thanks for a video with travel details. It will really help if we travel there in the future. Looking forward to seeing more of Ipoh.
What type of sausages did you have for breakfast? They looked a bit anaemic 😉 x
Haha chicken! I wasn't a fan...
What was your favorite place to live/stay in Malaysia?
Now is Chinese new year, maybe dead quiet
ETS is 140km/h. It's not fast. It's not slow either.
Blimey, those sausages looked a bit anaemic
Chicken sausages, not uncommon in Malaysia.
There are many types of sausages here including German sausages
