Big Z - Zydrunas, is obviously a stronger man when it comes to pure strength... Marius is also strong, but his advantage is that he was fast and more athletic, and in his time the disciplines of the world's strongest man suited his physical abilities!
@@StrengthUniverse however there is info that some polish gang members stole Zydryunas Hummer (which he won at Arnold's) while he was in Poland (2009 or 2010 year)
For me, Bill Kazmaier is the greatest strength athlete of all time. He was so dominant in his era that he was excluded from competing to make the contest competitive again.
Im slightly suspicious of Pudzianowski's supplement protocol, but assuming its legal it has to be said what he has done in his athletic career so far is absolutely mind boggling & its hard not to place him at the very top of the Greatest Athlete Of All Time list. Once he retires from MMA Im half expecting him to become a pro golfer or some other leisurely old man sport like that n compete at a world class level in that too.
You should put Mateusz kieliszkowski up against someone. That man is the best all-around strong man I saw compete he crushes almost every event with EZ. He's similar to Mariusz even though I haven't really seen him compete but from the clips I watched he was a beast too.
To be fair they're very different aside from being polish Granted both are very good at dynamic but different kinds mateusz being more of a tall man pudzian short Mateusz is amazing overhead and at leg lifts pudzian struggled there. Mateusz struggled at deadlifts which were one of pudzians best lifts
Funny you mention that but I have spent about 2 hours this morning looking through his lifts but it's honestly very difficult to compare to say Ronnie because Markus always trained on Machines. I think I can compare then in maybe 5 lifts
Does anyone else see that Marius is wearing boots that have like a 4 inch sole while doing the Atlas Stones? If you ask me, that means he doesn't have to lift as far over head because he is naturally shorter. Should have been recognized and looked into. Literally those things are Platform Shoes.
At the end of the day Pudzianowski has won 5 WSM more than anyone ever, and in alot of those he was beating everyone so bad, he won before the final events. Not to mention in that time he got 2nd multiple times. easily could of been 7 time WSM. Not only was Mariusz the best WSM, but if we wanted to, he probably could of went into MrOlympia, and won that shit, imagine at his size, and physique if he cut, and got shredded
Zydrunas was stronger and slower than Mariusz. Marius won were more speed matters and Zydrunas won were more strength matters. But in the end Zydrunas was stronger.
Even if you pick Mariusz best events he still stands no chance against Big Z, it's a bit unfair to put them against each other during the same years since Z was new in the game and peaked much later. For the same reason you don't put 2013 Eddie Hall against 2013 Brian Shaw. Zydrunas is the GOAT
Big Z is older than Pudz and contrary to Pudz he was a professional strength athlet prior his strongman career. Besides, Big Z started doing strongman like one year after Pudz. That being said, I have no idea what you're talking about. The comparison showed in the vid compared Pudz until 2009 when he left for MMA (much better money for him) with Big Z from 201x, which is a bit unfair. Pudz never really peaked as a strongman.
Both guys were amazing strongmen Mariuz was very unique he was fast as well as strong and was defined as a bodybuilder but as Big z improved over the years he had better overall strength really you could make an argument about either guy ......thanks for the video
Marius was better at dynamic events with medium weights over longer distances farmers walk and carry and drag but events like the truck pull overhead press deadlift and so on their is no replacement for displacement if marius would have put on 50 lbs and scrapped bodybuilding he could have been the goat
They didn't peak at different times, pudz just dominated, and z couldn't start winning until pudz retired. They were like the same age, I think z is older and z started before pudz. Pudz only did strongman for like 9 years and retired early in his prime at like 30 or 31. Z pushed it out because with pudz out of the picture z could start winning.
8 Arnold Classics and 4 WSM. Big Z's strength was more comprehensive and time tested imvho. No disrespect to Pudz at all. He is the greatest WSM competitor of all time.
I'll second that. I think larry is probably staticly stronger, but Mariusz the better competitor? Would still love to see another well put together though.
i´d go with big Z, this is not a bodybuilding contest nor crossfit and Z was lifting not a little bit but much more than mariusz thats why the stronger guys are more dominant in the ASC than WSM
For me, wsm was always about the obscure strength events, the giant stone carries, running a car along a circuit, fingels fingers etc etc whilst that style of competition was more common. Mariusz was without a shadow the greatest. But for sheer powerlifting power etc it has to be big Z. I think the reason this will never be settled is because you quite literally have to argue apples Vs oranges. There isn't really an event where they are equal to one another and that is very interesting
One can also make the case as far as top or high end strength, Zyd is stronger of the two. Mariusz would have been a heck of an NFL linebacker. Zyd would have been on my pass rush defensive line for nfl lol.
Big Z was stronger but WSM is not only about strenght , speed and agility is also important , Big Z is better in static lifts while Mariusz is better in carrying lifts
But no one talk about the Poland monster look like a runaway bodybuilder at the same time he made history in strongman,… That not going to happend again, now its all fat and beards and I now and respect it all day to.❤️👊👊😊
My respect to Big Z but He can only beat Mariusz at static events which favoured him in the later years because of the sports drastic change from overall competition to just heavy lifting. While Mariusz dominated in almost every competition and always found a way to compete smarter and better. Lastly, Mariusz is the perfect athlete that looks like a Greek God that can be the image of a Trophy.
Larry would win in static gym lifts ., but Larry isn't built for strongman he has small joints and ankles . Pudzianowski has bigger frame overall with thicker wrists and ankles and will dominate Larry in all moving carry events and atlas stones.
Mariusz is like 16-8 lifetime vs Zydrunas. All we have to go by, is the times they directly competed against each other. The format of the Arnold vs WSM from 2003-2009 was WAY too different for any single athlete to win both in one year. As a matter of fact NO ONE won both an Arnold and a WSM in the same year between 2003-2009. Zydrunas did not compete in the Arnold in 2009 and instead focused to win the 2009 WSM. Around 2010 the formats of both contests became much more similar, however it would not be until 2014 that Zydrunas could win both in the same year. Likewise, Mariusz could not win both despite competing in both. I'd like to also bring up the point that Mariusz competed at the Arnold Strongman Classic in 2006 despite the split between the IFSA and WSM. So, cross competition WAS possible. Mariusz was not avoiding Zydrunas. He did not turn down an opportunity to compete and showed Zydrunas respect by stepping into his house in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Zydrunas and Mariusz were friends and often times could be seen with their arms over each other's shoulders in comradery. I do not know the exact reason why Zydrunas did not come to WSM from 2005-2008 but I am sure there was a good reason. Injury, over training, pressure from IFSA, who knows?
@@michamicha3544 I understand but Mariusz came to the Arnold in 2006. Why could Mariusz come to IFSA between 2005-2008 by Zydrunas could not go to WSM. This is a very important question.
In that generation, Mariusz made that sport, he brought in so many spectators and watchers vs the others! Not to mentions that he's way lighter than the other top tier athletes! Records don't lie!

What a Beast overall .
True athlete
No strongman can squat more than Z.
Mariusz is stillt the Record Holder for the most wsm titles
Big Z - Zydrunas, is obviously a stronger man when it comes to pure strength... Marius is also strong, but his advantage is that he was fast and more athletic, and in his time the disciplines of the world's strongest man suited his physical abilities!
When it comes to standing and lifting a certain weight a foot off the ground then putting it back down. Z wins. But that's about it.
Mariusz wins another event not listed here: who beated the more mafia bosses
I wish there was info released about that
@@StrengthUniverse however there is info that some polish gang members stole Zydryunas Hummer (which he won at Arnold's) while he was in Poland (2009 or 2010 year)
Can you do thor vs shaw in strongman
I will be, just need to find the time to make it
Shaw is easily stronger at many events
Thor xant even do a farmers walk
@@bil.johnson_ lol Thor comes out on top as an athlete
@@simondean5227 definitely not #1 he loses many events
Mar proved u didn't need to be fat to be strong
Pudzianowski was an inspiration for many...true legend
For me, Bill Kazmaier is the greatest strength athlete of all time. He was so dominant in his era that he was excluded from competing to make the contest competitive again.
The strength of these guys are incredible
Im slightly suspicious of Pudzianowski's supplement protocol, but assuming its legal it has to be said what he has done in his athletic career so far is absolutely mind boggling & its hard not to place him at the very top of the Greatest Athlete Of All Time list.
Once he retires from MMA Im half expecting him to become a pro golfer or some other leisurely old man sport like that n compete at a world class level in that too.
Big Z said his secret was ice cream.
Big Z: dominant on absolute/max strength
Mariusz: dominant on dynamic strength and strength endurance
It should be big Z. I have just started to read his autobiography book.
Mariusz was always my favorite strong man… most explosive and athletic overall! I give him the GOAT. Big Z and KAZ are tied for #2.
Controversial opinion mate, I like it
probably the two greatest strongmen ever
Now let’s see Chris Bumsted vs Calum Von Moger. Who is the real next Arnold?
Big Z the G.O.A.T. by a light-year!
These two could be the… “Commonwealth” of strongmen, if you will.
Pound for pound, Mariusz I believe was stronger. 2 absolute legends!
You should put Mateusz kieliszkowski up against someone.
That man is the best all-around strong man I saw compete he crushes almost every event with EZ.
He's similar to Mariusz even though I haven't really seen him compete but from the clips I watched he was a beast too.
To be fair they're very different aside from being polish
Granted both are very good at dynamic but different kinds mateusz being more of a tall man pudzian short
Mateusz is amazing overhead and at leg lifts pudzian struggled there. Mateusz struggled at deadlifts which were one of pudzians best lifts
How about Lee haney vs Rich gaspari??? 💪💪🏿
Pls make a Video about Markus Rühl!
No worse than thor being tall.
If I remember right it's mentioned in the television shows of wsm. It probably was allowed
Unrelated, but have you guys seen Andrew Richard? This guy has a world class overhead press and barely any views on his channel
How in tf was Mariusz that lean but strong at the same time?
YEah!
Big Z so strong my favorite was Jon Paul so strong for 330 best strong man ever
Zydrunas was stronger and slower than Mariusz.
Marius won were more speed matters and Zydrunas won were more strength matters.
But in the end Zydrunas was stronger.
If there was a benchpress event, Mariusz would win. His bench is so strong it’s max is 290kg.
Big z has recorded 286kg benchpress
i don't care which is or was stronger, they got to be 2 of the most enjoyable strong men to watch compete
This was such a biblical time.
Both guys were amazing strongmen Mariuz was very unique he was fast as well as strong and was defined as a bodybuilder but as Big z improved over the years he had better overall strength really you could make an argument about either guy ......thanks for the video
These two were definitley my favorite along with Magnus Ver Magnussen.
Marius was better at dynamic events with medium weights over longer distances farmers walk and carry and drag but events like the truck pull overhead press deadlift and so on their is no replacement for displacement if marius would have put on 50 lbs and scrapped bodybuilding he could have been the goat
It's tough to compare guys who peaked at different times
They didn't peak at different times, pudz just dominated, and z couldn't start winning until pudz retired. They were like the same age, I think z is older and z started before pudz. Pudz only did strongman for like 9 years and retired early in his prime at like 30 or 31. Z pushed it out because with pudz out of the picture z could start winning.
8 Arnold Classics and 4 WSM. Big Z's strength was more comprehensive and time tested imvho. No disrespect to Pudz at all. He is the greatest WSM competitor of all time.
Mariusz vs Larry wheels
Would be interesting.
I'll second that. I think larry is probably staticly stronger, but Mariusz the better competitor? Would still love to see another well put together though.
3rd
i´d go with big Z, this is not a bodybuilding contest nor crossfit and Z was lifting not a little bit but much more than mariusz thats why the stronger guys are more dominant in the ASC than WSM
BIG Z VS THOR VS Hall VS Shaw VS KIELISZKOWSKI
Mariusz was the best at speed events
For me, wsm was always about the obscure strength events, the giant stone carries, running a car along a circuit, fingels fingers etc etc whilst that style of competition was more common. Mariusz was without a shadow the greatest. But for sheer powerlifting power etc it has to be big Z. I think the reason this will never be settled is because you quite literally have to argue apples Vs oranges. There isn't really an event where they are equal to one another and that is very interesting
Carry and Drag was super close
Actually Zydrunas has 7 World strongest man titles, you cant ignore the 3 years when the organization split.
I was his choice to join IFSA, even if he hadn't, it's highly unlikely he would have won an additional 3 WSM titles.
Mariusz lifts heavier considering he has a smaller frame, is considerably leaner and arguably the better conditioned of the two.
One can also make the case as far as top or high end strength, Zyd is stronger of the two. Mariusz would have been a heck of an NFL linebacker. Zyd would have been on my pass rush defensive line for nfl lol.
Pudzianowski all the way. Polska Gora 🇵🇱👍🏼
Big Z !!
i bet if mariusz would have got down to 290-295 lbs ,maybe he could have gave the nfl a call playing dt or de, he might run in the 4.55-4.6 range
Big Z was stronger but WSM is not only about strenght , speed and agility is also important , Big Z is better in static lifts while Mariusz is better in carrying lifts
Mariusz in 10 years 42 wins out of 60
Zadrunas in 26 years 76wins out of 140
But no one talk about the Poland monster look like a runaway bodybuilder at the same time he made history in strongman,…
That not going to happend again, now its all fat and beards and I now and respect it all day to.❤️👊👊😊
My respect to Big Z but He can only beat Mariusz at static events which favoured him in the later years because of the sports drastic change from overall competition to just heavy lifting. While Mariusz dominated in almost every competition and always found a way to compete smarter and better. Lastly, Mariusz is the perfect athlete that looks like a Greek God that can be the image of a Trophy.
I concur with You Julius
Pudzianowski vs Larry Wheels would be a good comparison, similar size, body fat, and insanely strong
Pudzianowski weight more and in strongman he eat him
Larry would win in static gym lifts ., but Larry isn't built for strongman he has small joints and ankles . Pudzianowski has bigger frame overall with thicker wrists and ankles and will dominate Larry in all moving carry events and atlas stones.
Nice video. Just goes to show you can’t go by WSM titles to determine the greatest strongman.
Thank you and very true
Martin Lics and Hafthor would be fun to see
Hello everybody, greetings from France !
Hello there!
Powodem że wielki Z nie uczestniczył w WSM 2005-2008 był podpisany kontrakt z IFSA , innymi słowy zawodnicy IFSA nie mogli brać udziału w WSM
@@michamicha3544 I understand but Mariusz came to the Arnold in 2006. Why could Mariusz come to IFSA between 2005-2008 by Zydrunas could not go to WSM. This is a very important question.
Ponieważ kontrakt z WSM nie ograniczał uczestnikowi do wzięcia udziału u Arnolda, natomiast IFSA w kontakcie zabroniło wzięcia udziału w WSM
Arnold to arnold a IFSA to coś zupełnie innego, IFSA była konkurencją do WSM
Mariusz brał udział w Arnoldzie, nigdy w IFSA
Now imagine powerbelly Mariusz !
Super Mario only weighed 275 lbs when started WSM gaining more weight throughout his career, but still not Big Z weight.
Wow. No cherry picking here. Wonder how Mar even has won wsm? Great vid not cherry picking! Totally logit...
Thanks Chris, much appreciated
In that generation, Mariusz made that sport, he brought in so many spectators and watchers vs the others! Not to mentions that he's way lighter than the other top tier athletes! Records don't lie!
