Just in time for the 18th birthday of TR3X PR0DÚCTÍ0NS! This video was released for educational purposes only. This is the first logo history of mine to contain an end credit.
This logo history will contain some logos you might have not seen before!
The main references for this video were Logopedia and CLG Wiki, and every capture shown in this video is from RUclips.

The Open University is a British public research university in Buckinghamshire and the largest university in the UK by a number of students. It was established in 1969 by four people, one of which was Harold Wilson, who was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1964-1970 and 1974-1976. In the 20th century, they started to broadcast educational programs for the BBC.
My next logo history will be on Aardman, because they have recently celebrated their 50th anniversary!

The first (1971-91) and second (1991-2000) logos are my favourites from the Open University

Mine would be the first and sixth logo! And man, now has been one month since the Open University's 53th anniversary! I think I should do the collection of vignettes about the company tomorrow.
The 2nd one, it sounds so futuristic!!!
For those interested, the iconic Open University fanfare is in fact the opening bars of "Divertimento for Three Trumpets and Three Trombones" by Leonard Salzedo (1921-2000).
That video is so enjoyable! Good update to my video from two years back, which I also made when I was fifteen. There's more variants of the first logo (1971-91) I never seen before, and the later version of the second logo (1991-2000) has brilliant animation. That "NO" from Squidward at the end of the third logo though XD Looking forward to your logo history on Aardman, this video and your birthday gift logo were so much fun to watch today. Thanks, Fabian! I do remember seeing your logo history on The Open University when I was twelve (nearly thirteen). It was interesting to see more variants of the first logo, and I agree with you on the second logos animation. I wonder if the logo was made in the university itself? The second logo's music is dreamy, and the piano bit at the end is soothing. The "NO" from Squidward gets me every time XD I'm laughing at my own creations!
I love that you two have such great passion for idents! Do you envisage yourselves being graphic designers when you grow up?

Interesting to see some rare clips of the OU being on BBC1 - most of the time, their programmes were on BBC2. My dad used to like watching them, especially the science ones, even though he attended physical universities for his degrees. I like the old music, it reminds me of growing up with Dad watching OU stuff on telly! Sadly, he passed away in 2019, before the OU’s 50th anniversary later that year.

Brilliant logo history of the Open University, Jonty!!!! Not gonna lie, but this is soooo interesting, especially that it's for a famous British university. And I remembered seeing a bit of their logos, especially the first logo. And the most interesting thing about the Open University, is that the town they're located in, which is Milton Keynes, is a pretty new place, which I think it was founded in the 1950s (or the 60s), so it's just as new as Telford. Golly!!!! But yeah, if I did pick a favourite, then my most favourite logos from the Open University would definitely have to be all of them (my most favourite being the 1st, 2nd and 3rd logo)!! But yeah, like as always, awesome video Jonty and keep up with the awesome work!!!! And also, happy 18th birthday Fabian bro!!!! :D :) ;)

I remember the old Open University commercials from the 2000s. Good times.
The music was my favourite bit.
On the original mono VHS releases of _Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers_ from BBC Video and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, the 1971-1991 Open University logo theme can be heard playing on Gromit's TV set while he's eating breakfast cereal of Korn Flakes and reading _The Republic_ by Pluto. It was taken out of the stereo VHS releases and all releases going forward due to the original releases using copyrighted music such as "Happy Talk" from _South Pacific_ and "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?".
