Most of them were my friends, one is my future sister-in-law, and two others I met at a Sailor Moon event they hosted (that celebrated the rerelease of the manga) at a nyc comic book store. I friended one on facebook and noticed that she had Eternal Venus in her plans, so I invited her into the project. Later the other host joined in too!

I actually chose the Korean version on purpose. If you look at the translation, they are quite different. The Korean is simpler and focuses strictly on the girl's feelings while the Japanese one has a specific story. Also, I wanted cute and energetic but the Japanese version is TOO cute and not nearly as energetic as the Korean (can you really imagine Haruka singing SO high pitched?). Even the choreography is cuter, daintier, and the overall theme is frillier. The Korean ver. was a better fit!

Practice, practice, practice! Oh and lots of time to work on them! I started making costumes in 2004 so it's been a long journey! It also took me the majority of 2012 to make all 9 costumes.

Three years ago, this came up in my recommended videos cause I liked sailor moon as a child. I never heard of KPOP; this lead to me to Gee and thus SNSD. And now I'm obsessed with the KPOP world. And it started with this video!

Wikipedia: The Romani are an ethnic group living mostly in Europe, who have been traced genetically to a group migrating from the northwestern Indian Subcontinent about 1,500 years ago. Romani are widely known in the English-speaking world by the exonym "Gypsies" (or Gipsies). Pluto might actually be part Indian depending on how deep Naoko wants to take the Roma heritage. I thought that was pretty cool!

Thank you!! The wigs come from a variety of places. Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Uranus all came from Epic Cosplay. Neptune is from Cosplay.com. Pluto was a super lucky find on ebay but you can find a good likeness (and buy premade buns too) from Arda Wigs. Saturn was bought an NYC wig shop.

Definitely the most difficult part was getting everyone together. We even lost our original Uranus halfway through rehearsals and it was a big scramble to land someone will to work double time to catch up with the group (in which Panicky Kitty was beyond awesome)! Even scouting for the new video (out later this year) was rough since I needed to get a lot of new recruits due to time restraints and previous commitments from this team.

(I'm black and I cosplay sailor Moon all the time.) Why can't we cosplay too? And you make a great point If they can have different hair and eyes why can't they be different colors too. Totally agreed. the only thing I would had changed in the video was have the black girl play Pluto instead. considering that she was darker than the other girls in the manga. I've seen Black girls cosplay Pluto before, and they totally nailed the part so well that I totally believed that they could be Sailor Pluto. :)

Definitely the most difficult part was getting everyone together. We even lost our original Uranus halfway through rehearsals and it was a big scramble to land someone will to work double time to catch up with the group (in which Panicky Kitty was beyond awesome)! Even scouting for the new video (out later this year) was rough since I needed to get a lot of new recruits due to time restraints and previous commitments from this team.

Man I really think you guys did a great job!!! I watched it and giggled it was refreshing. I can't stand when people get upset when Black people cosplay as anime characters in general though. (I'm black and I cosplay sailor Moon all the time.) Why can't we cosplay too? And you make a great point If they can have different hair and eyes why can't they be different colors too. I'm going to continue to watch your stuff. It was refreshing and nice. You guys just rock!!!

Totally agreed. the only thing I would had changed in the video was have the black girl play Pluto instead. considering that she was darker than the other girls in the manga. I've seen Black girls cosplay Pluto before, and they totally nailed the part so well that I totally believed that they could be Sailor Pluto. :)

this is just too cute all though the one thing that kind of bugged me was that all the girls were wearing boots when some of the sailor scouts are suppose to be wearing high heels other then that it was still SUPER CUTE!!!! >.
