The Thar Desert is one of the driest deserts in the world, and it is home to millions of people. In recent years, the water crisis in the Thar Desert has become increasingly severe, due to factors such as climate change, overgrazing, and population growth.
The water crisis is having a devastating impact on the lives of people in the Thar Desert. Many people have to walk for miles to fetch water, and they often have to use contaminated water that is not safe to drink. The water crisis is also leading to the loss of crops and livestock, and it is making it difficult for people to make a living.
There are a number of efforts underway to address the water crisis in the Thar Desert. These efforts include building water tanks, rainwater harvesting systems, and desalination plants. However, much more needs to be done to ensure that everyone in the Thar Desert has access to safe and clean water.

की आपने देशवासीयो को समस्या से रूबरू करवा दिया है
परन्तु अब समस्या का हल भी बताये
आप पूरा विशेषलेषण कीजिए
और पैसों से संबधी चिंता मत कीजिए

I am a student of mbbs from govt medical College barmer,.....I am experiencing alot of hardships with my colleagues but when I watched this documentary film....I came to know that it is the same India where on one hand people celebrating the success of chandrayan and other hand rural people facing crisis of water.....it is very painful 😣

आज मैंने 45 मिनट की इस फिल्म को देखा जिससे मुझे बहुत दुख हुआ, क्योंकि मैं स्वयं राजस्थान का निवासी हूँ...
केवल हिन्दूत्व वाले मुद्दे के कारण में BJP को विधानसभा चुनाव मे वोट देने जा रहा था पर अब नहीं दूंगा... क्योंकि केन्द्रित जल मंत्री जी पश्चिमी राजस्थान के होते हुए भी ERCP जैसी योजना का समर्थन नहीं किया ! सोचने योग्य बात है... जो सरकार इन्द्रा गाँधी नहर परियोजना को लेकर आयी है अब ये ही सरकार ERCP जैसी योजना को ला सकती है।

Its because of Aravalis you are not facing these kinds of problems. Aravalis, the critical groundwater recharging area is getting destroyed because of which soon parts of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan & Gujarat will face water crisis shown in this video.

The residents of Barmer are facing unprecedented water scarcity, causing immense hardships and jeopardizing their well-being. Access to clean water is limited, affecting daily life and putting their health at risk.
As representatives of the people and the Indian National Congress, it is our duty to address such critical issues. I urge you to take swift and effective measures to alleviate the water crisis. Short-term solutions like water tankers and temporary water sources that have been implemented are not reaching the entire population. We need long-term strategies for improving sustainable water management.
Transparency in the allocation and utilization of funds for resolving the crisis is crucial. I also recommend the establishment of a task force comprising experts and representatives from local communities to assess the situation continually and propose necessary actions.

I am a resident of Barmer, border district of Rajasthan. The documentary's portrayal of water and education authentically reflects the challenges of our region. Water scarcity is a long standing problem that has been prevalent for generations. We reflect on the countless governments that have come and gone and anticipate the ones to come. Despite this, the question remains, when will the people of Thar get adequate water supply and educational opportunities? For centuries, our generations have waited for this essential need. The people of Thar still have no idea how many more years will have to be endured for its completion.

Im from Gadra road dist. Barmer literally this documentary is 100% reality of my village. Since my birth i have seen many women's and mens of my village travelling 3-7 kms daily for water in extreme hot weather (loo).
I speak same language as the people in this documentary are speaking and when i watched this documentary i actually can feel the pain in the voices of this womens feeling so bad for them but i can't understand why government is even not trying for this
Not only water but in our Village their is even no electricity as our area fall into DNP region
Just can you even imagine people living without electricity and proper medical facilities and water in this 21st century Sad...

I am from Barmer and there is no such situation in whole Barmer but condition of hundreds of border villages is very pathetic regarding water and education, I express my gratitude to Lallantop team who gave such poignant and realistic report. And we hope that the state and central governments will find some appropriate solution in due time.

I belong to Jodhpur , Rajasthan. My village has a good connectivity of water and other essential things. It was well said by the man k delhi m bthne wlo ko frk nhi pdta river linkages ho ya n ho but hme fark pdta hai. It brought me into tears. It made me realise the value of the priceless gift of the nature 'Water'. As we have better connectivity and ample amount of water is available in our village, we forget to value the gifts of nature whether it is water or air or any other thing. Thanks for highlighting this problem which are eye opening for mang.

I am from Barmer,
Indira Gandhi canal project has reached Barmer North (Mohangarh point). &
Narmada canal project has reached Barmer south end (sanchore point).
The distance between both points is around 160 km. It would be a lifeline to these border areas if both canals get connected.
The same goes for ERCP project for eastern rajasthan. Hope the central govt won't discriminate for non bjp ruled state.

To see beloved school friend Tribhuwan featuring in the documentary. Yes, such villages do exist till date in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Churu. People think that there is only one SAM desert in Jaisalmer but in reality... thousands of tough sand dunes exist in western Rajasthan... It's just that it's not in mainstream media.
I’ve been serving here in Barmer District since last 2 years, I have an experience of living into deep remote areas near Border. The situation is really horrible in Dhanis about potable water. Salute to the people who are living here with limited basic resources.

I am also from BARMER. Yes, this is a big problem in border area of Barmer. Not only border area but villages 15-20 km away from main city are also asked for tankers for drinking water. And they have to pay 500-1000 rupees per month for water. It is also true that most of villages near the city now have water connection . Thank you for raising this issue.
