Unity is really good. Sometimes the camera is terrible and you get shot without the warning coming up though. But it was a welcome change to the fairly unchallenging combat of the previous few games.
I finally mastered it, anyways 1 small tip if a guard is aiming at you and the officers/seekers does the 3 hit combo dodge the last hit since that's when the enemy will shoot
It was very grounded it felt so realistic that it was too realistic, I like feeling like a badass and just being able to take down everyone with relative ease like AC3 but I love everything else about the game
@@00Batman One thing I always disliked alot from the Ac community is how they keep on saying that ac3 combat is too easy and you can defeat everyone with just the counter when the game actually punishes you for doing that. I think people are just mixing up the combat of Black flag ith AC3.
In AC3, AC4 and AC: Rogue combat is smoother than in Ezio trilogy, but they are very cartoonish. Lots of unnecessary hits. A weapon that cuts through enemies like air, not meat. The movements in these parts lack the heaviness and brutality that Altair and Ezio had. I won’t talk about Unity and later parts yet, I haven’t played them.

Assasins creed ezio trilogy's combat is personally my favorite, i felt really skilled and timed with my counters and stuff and felt so good in finishing my opponents mean while i did felt badass in other ones, they just seemed really easy in countering and stuff like just a button to counter was enough to remove whole group if done repeatedly (except Unity, that combat is a chef kiss). ezio's trilogy felt really down to earth for me in combat. and don't start with me with recent series. really feels like playing a mobile rpg combat, why they had to ruin it man :(

Like a mixture with unity and ac3 would be perfect where your footwork is important such as in ghost of tsushima but this game is another Caliber
(just to be clear, my comment is about combat as a whole, not just finishers) the problem in the transition from Ezio Trilogy to 3, Black Flag, etc. was the following: first we had enemies which would actually block or deflect hits, only landing a (lethal) blow after timing the attack button. spamming the attack button did not work spamming parry/counter did. then... for the next gen, what did we get ? mindless spamming of the attack button... but the fucking cherry on top: every hit connects.... but no, doesn't matter if the enemy got stabbed and sliced 30 times already, because his healthbar isn't depleted. this got boring really fast, and taints replay value.
I disagree. Problem with AC3s combat was the insanely long slow down time after parrying to decide what you want to do. It interrupts combat each time, making it tedious and repetitive, and it also tales away every challenge since you have what feels like 2 seconds to think about your next move for every.single.parry. *Yaaawwwn*
