I think this concept is best, it's like taking down two birds with one stone. I think this concept is best and cheaper to work with on sinking inhabited islands such as Port Adam (Fanalei) in the Solomon islands.
While the tetrapod is a french invention you never see them around in france. They ruin the see side landscape in such a way no one would ever accept their presence. The country that produce the most ridiculous amount of tetrapods is probably Japan where the construction industry reigns supreme on local politics. There's very little incentive for the majority of low skill workers that live around coastal villages to oppose the spread of tetrapods in Japan, because they would be unemployed otherwise. From mining, concrete production, sand dredging, filling the thousands of tetrapods mould with sand taken from rivers and costal areas, and finally transporting them with special boats equipped with cranes, it's a big production chain that would have to be dissolved in order to save the beaches from utter obliteration by the concrete industry. It's sad to lean Taiwan is suffering the same fate as Japan, probably courtesy of Japan Inc. I do hope these kind of projects will have a proof of concept financed and will eventually create a new industry that will replace the current monstrosity.

I been thinking about the same solution for a while now. Has this been implemented. The coastal stretch i am trying to implement this in is in East Africa.
I think this will work best in South Pacific countries, especially where I'm from in Solomon islands, in particularly to sinking islands such as Port Adam (Fanalei).
To the producers of this video. What is up with the stupid background music, which renders the speech unintelligible and distracts from this great idea!
This looks like a really economical, sound solution to helping reprotect coastlines and the environment. Very cool.!
Cool
need more modification because the hole for root it so little
I'm really appreciate what you've done. It's such a fascinating ideal
its great idea... I like it... my country Indonesia is over than 17000 Island and the largest mangrove habitat in the world..
Does it protect the coast from a Tsunami?

This is cool! I wonder if there are any solutions for temperate climates, as mangroves don't grow in temperate climates.
These do:

😉
I know in NYS we have wetlands
Hi. Is there any success Tetrapot project? If yes, can you name it? I need it for my doctoral research. Cheers
Thank you for this
this should be pitched to every single state along the gulf of Mexico and the east coast of the United States
Brilliant
nice initiatives.
Please make the music a little louder next time. Some guy in the background keeps talking into it.
Can you do another video without your music FORE GROUND ? Thx.
Is there any real time applications of this being used ? It looks so interesting
È una soluzione bellissima
Good
I would love to see these tetrapots in Bangladesh.
❤️❤️
Interesting concept but you would have to make this work from every single orientation
Does it work in sement fish pool
tetrapods are meant to move, mangroves are already natural barriers
It's a very good concept. However, in the real world this is very hard to apply

It won’t work at all.
Have they implemented this already?
Hail tetrapod
How tall are they? This is so cool!!!
Plastic and concrete instead of metal
How come nobody has mentioned trees have a hard time growing in saltwater?
Mangroves ONLY grow in salt water or brackish water. Hence why they specifically named that species.

Too expensive.
You slept defence wrong...its defense
Chris Oneil You spelt slept wrong ... it’s spelt lol
@@erinajoan 😂😂😂👍
@@erinajoan oh...the irony lol
Crap music played too loudly drowns out narration and makes video unwatchable. Stopped before the end.
