Ok you absolutely nailed what I was looking for. That was alot of information in a short amount of time. I am definately more interested in the theory behind the song, its like the teaching a man how to fish, and thats far greater than throwing him a fish. Furthermore, you are right about it not being a complete song, there was something missing. This will give me something to work on this week, thank you for taking time to do this Chris. Happy Thanksgiving. My name is Ralph.
Alright Sir this change to Emaj took me completely out of my comfort zone playing. I have been going back n forth to it for four days now I believe. The circle of fifths for chord changes and soloing choice is intriguing, as in I never knew any of this. This song was the real unfinished song, not what Alex just put out lol! Look at Andy Woods shoot the sun down, if you can explain that song structure, thoughts on his attempt at writing that song.
@@alchemysticgoldmind4164 its the break down of the Song Ed Vanhalen gave to Mitch Malloy, or more of how it was written, the key, and the chord changes. I hope that helped
@ yes, very. I’ve known him since he was 17. Even back then, you could hear his natural inclination for melody and tasty phrasing. He was a big Randy Rhoads fan. Dave’s dad was also a player, and they would sometimes play little solo gigs together. Even when he’s just noodling, Dave is always tapping his foot and playing to an inner chord progression and beat he’s hearing in his head. He’s super musical. I’m glad he took a turn to the blues rock thing.
@ yes was unfortunate he didn’t make it ! A lot of poor business decisions with Cryer and Tough Luck I also new James Marino the bassist and his brother Scott! Lol I live in south Fl my dad lives up near Sebastian
@ yeah, business decisions aside, there is only so much room at the top of the charts. There are 10,000 bands who should have made the big time, but there are so many factors involved in it happening. Maybe the name of his band was a self fulfilling prophecy. Idk. My friends in Young Turk got a record deal, released an album under Geffen, and then got dropped after some stupid behavior involving a young girl in some northern state.
@@Jamesfoofighter thats a really good question. I dont know for sure, but I do know he gave that song Mitch, and I know Ed seemed to change his tuning around a singers ability because he had stated before...
It’s crazy in the thumb nail of this video you sort of look like Eddie lol. I actually thought you were him at first glance 😆✌️

Was there any particular reason EVH wanted to play back in standard tuning? Keyboard arrangement maybe?

I just believe the tuning didn’t sound as heavy for them and Mitch and Sammy felt more comfortable in that range
I thought you were Eddie!!
