    This program has no credibility, they have an ex Labour MP and husband of the Home Secretary who is supposed to question Labour MPs.
    Watching him interview his wife was probably the most cringing thing I’ve ever seen yet GMB keep him on, he was useless as an MP and he’s useless as a TV interviewer, get rid of him.
    The 52 MPs who didn’t turn up are cowards, no conviction. The MPs work for us not the Labour Party.

      Triple that number and you will be close.
      Then consider that is the raw upfront cost of taking care of them, that doesnt include the other costs related to stretched services that occur as a result of the extra people.
      We're also borrowing a lot of money, so theres the interest on that too.

    How can Libour give away 30 billion and say there is a 20 Billion black hole, Not only did Gordon Brown put us in the poverty trap by taking 120 billion from private pensions, but now the Liber party is taking another big chunk from our petitions, they think that can rob the old people and that will not notice. My pittance of a private pension has put me in poverty and I have to pay £2 a month tax on it.

    They saved £1.2 billion by cutting off our heating allowance. Then gave Zelensky £600 million and Tata Steel £500 million. I'm 77 living alone on a single woman's pension and I'm fkn raging!!!!! 😖😖😖

      This new mantra is a disgrace because Labour had access to all government books and knew the state of the nation's finances. They knew what they were going to do (money for unions, Ukraine, net zero, foreign aid) and were confident that the media was not going to scrutinise them before or after the election.

      A new government gets a year or two in which they can blame everything on their predecessor, as many actions have delayed consequences. It's easy to spend on credit and let someone else pick up the bill later.

      Pensioners aren't poor. Once housing costs are accounted for, the average pensioner is 5% better off than the average working-age person.

They will not turn on the electric as again they had been taught and believe bills were their responsibility.       Yeah, they are. They've made a cynical calculation knowing that a lot of pensioners will not apply for the pension credit out of either being confused by the process or out of pride and not wanting to claim anything on the state, because if all the pensioners that were eligible for the credit applied it would be more expensive than the winter fuel allowance.

    This MP says the triple lock will give pensioners £1,700 over the next five years....They are taking £300 a year from them which will, over 5 years, total £1,500. That means pensioners will be only £200 better off over 5 years! The energy bills are going up by at least that much alone this year. Where is the logic?

    If the inevitable happens and there is a huge rise in elderly hypothermia fatalities, Labour will simply write them off as collateral damage and a mere statistic.     An unnecessary political decision. Labour could have recouped money from wealthy pensioners in other different ways. Labour chose to give rail drivers pay rises, give money to Ukraine and money for climate change instead.

    People voted Labour into power with the expectation of better economic management, so it's not productive to blame the Tories now. Can the minister clarify why this government is allocating £11 billion in aid to countries that have larger and more prosperous economies, and why there is an intention to increase the salaries of those already earning £60,000 or more?

    Oh they make my blood boil, they spend millions a day on rubber dinghy hotel dwellers, with nice heating...but can't afford to pay a fraction of the poor pensioners heating bills? Whom by the way, have all paid into the tax system their whole lives 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Why do this now rather than wait until people over 250k pay an extra 10%, houses sold over 1m pay 1% mansion tax, capital gains on dividends aligns with income etc etc? Letting the horse bolt before bothering to shut the stable door seems ludicrous. Not to mention the impact on NHS etc. Short-sightedness in the extreme.
