Thank your this video and the script!
    I installed version 6.0.28
    Installation went smooth.
    Now I want to login.
    Unifi is running.
    User = ubnt
    But what is the password?
I changed it via command: passwd ubnt
    But I can't login.
    Any idea?

You're welcome! In order to log in to the controller, open a web browser and go to the server's IP address at port 8443 over HTTPS. If your server's IP is 192.168.1.100, go to 192.168.1.100:8443 in your browser. That will walk you through setting up a password and let you make changes. Make sure you completed the firewall configuration steps first.

@@G6TechnologyServices Thank you. I tried but didn't work out. But.....the way it worked was getting a Ubiquiti account and use those credentials for my local Unifi controller.

I did all the steps and it worked perfectly!
Did you leave a backup tutorial for unifi and my doubt would be the following?
What would be the "source" path to perform the backup?
Replace '/ source' with the location on the local machine where you want to back up the files.
    Would this be it?
    /opt UniFi/data

Great! I'm glad the video helped you! Yes, /opt/UniFi/data is the source directory that you would want to back up. I don't have a video showing how to set up backups. I have a step sheet on how to set up automatic backups to an FTP server (which you may be referencing): kb.g6inc.us/display/G6TECHKB/Automatically+Back+Up+to+FTP+on+CentOS+8 that mirrors the source directory with the target FTP server. I'm using that to mirror the UniFi autobackup directory to a Windows file server. If you're backing up to the local machine, that isn't necessary. You can just schedule a copy command. If you want to back up to another Linux server, rsync might be a better option. I'll try to make a video for each method when I have time.

      Thanks for the feedback!
I also realized his commitment to his followers by answering the questions and not ignoring, but once congratulations.
      Come on!
I installed unifi on an amazon aws instance and performed the backup via opt / Unifi / data via CLI directly to my S3 bucket. I scheduled the CRON to perform once a day.
I tried on FTP server too and was not successful, because I use SSL / TLS.
Now another suggestion would be the possibility of a publication on how to compress the files of the Mongol database (smallfiles).

Thank you for this tutorial, I already installed successfully. But there is a problem the unifi controller cannot detect the unifi .device

Make sure to verify the firewall rules were created and enabled. Also, the UniFi devices have to be on the same subnet as the controller for the automatic discovery to work. Otherwise, you need to use the discovery tool or an alternate adoption method. help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/204909754-UniFi-Device-Adoption-Methods-for-Remote-UniFi-Controllers

@@G6TechnologyServices thanks for the advice, i use the chrome tool to run the command set-inform but no luck. What I've done was ssh to device and manually run set-inform unifi:8080/inform. Now up the unifi controller was up and running thank you very much for your video tutorial

I'm not sure why that would happen. Here are a few things to try: 1) download a new copy of the tool from www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 2) make sure you're logged in with an administrator account 3) run Windows update 4) reboot the computer

I'm not sure why that would happen. Do you have a different computer you can use to create the installation media?

@@G6TechnologyServices Yes but it is windows 8...But will I get windows 10 from that?and would I lose the windows on the other laptop from which I take the installation media?
Update: It is working properly on the windows 8 laptop😊

The media creation tool should work on Windows 7 or newer. It will create installation media for Windows 10 even if you are running the tool on an earlier version. It won't affect the system you're running the tool on as long as you select the option to create media and not upgrade this computer now. Glad you got it working.
