you can see the pins are directly in line with each other vertically, so as you drive along at speed on the sealed road and short sharp upward strokes your front axle makes as you hit bumps and potholes etc. send the shock up into the chassis instead of into the spring. if you can get the bottom pin ahead of the top pin (front axle) the energy has a much easier time of going into the spring instead of the chassis and the ride improves. (I had the exact same problem with my HJ61) Have a look at every 'modern' leaf spring around next time you're in a bunnings carpark or whatever and you'll see not a single shackle with the pins straight up and down
Hi Gemma, I have seen people put 80 series chassis underneath the 60 or 80 series diffs under the 60 as they are coil.. would definitely be more comfortable to ride in but leafs better with weight..
@@EngineeredToDesign got suck fixing my wirong for the headlights all day spent about 12hrs rewiring amd need to now do the otherside. I might see if i can do it tomorrow. Just bought a pillar pod gauge mount so i think i am all good to go. I will let you know how it goes. Super pumped to do it aye.
Hey mate the shocks are Dobinsons 120 series prado to suit 3” lift, the part number number is GS59- 701 The isolator is a jump start feature was there when I bought it. Will be changing it in the future for a redarc isolator and over ride switch 🙂
Thanks Mick, my old suspension was sagged so it was definitely better ride wise, it did however sag fairly quick in the front and from memory they only offered the 150kg..
Declan Swan they are 7” led headlights off eBay have had them in for a few years now work great, you do need a switching converter to go from negatively switched to positive..
done subscribe..i have bj60 too..i want to learn how to change oil for transfer case and front/rear differential..i hope you can show it..from malaysia
@@EngineeredToDesign yea, they'll be aimed higher, potentially into oncoming traffic, acting like high beam, especially for those who drive small low to ground cars.

WHO WANTS MORE 60 CONTENT?
Thanks man
front shackle angle is terrible! did you end up fixing that? longer springs etc.?
How is it terrible? I’ve had them in for over a year now with no problems…

Beautiful rig. I have an HJ60 I will be restoring in the near future.
Thank you Military Grade Gear, they are an iconic 4wd don’t make them like they use to! Would love to see yours 😊
Hi I'm new to this all. I just have a question. Do you know how the 60series may go with a coil conversion?
Hi Gemma, I have seen people put 80 series chassis underneath the 60 or 80 series diffs under the 60 as they are coil.. would definitely be more comfortable to ride in but leafs better with weight..
Leaf spring cruisers are underated, my 60 with 2 inch lift and 33s went everywhere my mates 6 inch lift 60 on 37s went
Hey mate they sure are! Tuff old rigs and much simpler then the newer stuff. Wouldn’t have it any other way! Sounds like two good rigs!
Sweet setup mate. Loving the videos mate.
Thanks David! Appreciate it :-)
@@EngineeredToDesign no worries mate. 🤙
How did you go with the egt gauge?

David Cowan that’s great mate hopefully the gauge pod goes in well look forward to it.
Nice bud mate.
What’s the isolator for near the radiator.
Also what exactly are the front shocks you used?

Hey mate great video, how many inches of lift are you running all up now over factory? Cheers in advance
Thanks Ryan, it is about 2 and a half inches over standard, my original suspension was sagged though..
Tidy rig buddy. Good walk around
Thank you mate :-)
Nice 60, I'm looking to purchase an EFS 2" lift kit, what was the ride and comfort difference when you fit yours?
Thanks Mick, my old suspension was sagged so it was definitely better ride wise, it did however sag fairly quick in the front and from memory they only offered the 150kg..
@@EngineeredToDesign cool, thanks. Might give them a call. Will need extra weight capacity in the back.
Very nice 60. What year is it?
Thank you Tom, it is a 1983 🙂
What headlights are they?
Declan Swan they are 7” led headlights off eBay have had them in for a few years now work great, you do need a switching converter to go from negatively switched to positive..

Thank you Luke! What colour is yours? 🙂

Hey mate very happy to hear! Yes I have to change mine very soon and service it I may do a video if you like 🙂
Nice rig mate.
I gotta say the microphone was heaps better this time, the other vids I struggle to hear ya.
Keep up ya good work 👍🏻
Thank you Stuart it helps heaps with wind noise I did forget to point it at me a couple of times when I was behind the camera haha.
Don't forget to dip your headlights
Hey Japorah do you mean because of the lift they will be heigher?
@@EngineeredToDesign yea, they'll be aimed higher, potentially into oncoming traffic, acting like high beam, especially for those who drive small low to ground cars.
Japorah I will adjust them for sure thanks mate :-)
