I like the expense, how it takes up my entire house to store it and how inconvenient it is. oh and i love seam splits, dust, warps, pressings defects and vinyl that looks clean but plays with a constant background noise.
Being able to show off a really nice square piece of artwork 12 by 12 dimensions putting it inside of a record holder or propping it up against a wall and being able to say to yourself and other people in the room of Bill Cosby record ‘I really love that piece of music’ 😂😅 that’s definitely something special Michael HAHA
My one daughter wants to get her vinyls for Christmas. And she is 25 years old it touched my heart when she said she wanted records for Christmas so i got her four vinyls. A while back . I got her a suite case record player with two vinyls. And now she wants a collection like her dad pretty awesome.
Joy! I don't consider myself a vinyl collector, I just enjoy sitting down and listening to it. It's something I've been buying for over 50 years now. I love the hell out of it!!
Joy! I’ve lived through a bunch of formats, but being able to appreciate everything about the album, including easier access to the other artists involved with any give record makes it really fun. There is also something special about finding records that are otherwise out of print.
I really love how no matter who it is, everyone's collection is unique to them. Whether you're a variant collector, an all-black-pressings-only collector, a collector for the sake of collecting music, someone who collects them just to physically own them, etc... you're never going to meet someone with the same exact collection, even under the same categories. It's so cool and that's what makes it so interesting!
I started out with 10 vinyl records and a cheap crosley record player. I didn’t like how it sounded so I upgraded to a Sony PS-LX310BT and 2 Sony bookshelf speakers. 4 years later now I own 3 record players I added a subwoofer to my bookshelf speakers and I own about 300 records. I wouldn’t trade it for the world 👌🏽
Joy! I had a couple of records for 10 years and never played them until I bought my first turntable on august. The first song I played was sweet from cigarettes after sex, (I proposed to my wife with that song), it felt magical, we have heard that song on youtube or streaming lot of times but hearing it on record was different. Anyway, I just found your channel and subscribed, love your content
Great video! I've been collecting for many years now and I'm meticulous with my records. The stock photos of the people with there fingers all over the records totally made me cringe. Don't handle your records this way!!! lol
I've never considered collecting vinyl as a 'hobby' in the same way as say fishing or skateboarding. It's just part of my life. An historical record (forgive the pun!) of my world.
Yep: joy first and foremost. Great new video and topic senor. Just be able to see the vinyl lurking there your room. Waiting to be picked up and adored, like my ex wife.. fortunately vinyl and the music we love, lasts longer. vinyl rules🏆 best wishes from Planet Mack channel
JOY: You are correct on all of the small joys. The BIG HUGE item that has stopped me from purchasing vinyl is the EXPENSE of it all. When I was in college a brand new copy of Fleetwood Mac "Rumours" was $7 - $8 each. Today the same album on vinyl is now more than $22! OUCH!
Just found your channel, and I’m really enjoying it. Could I make a video request that I don’t think you’ve covered so far? Differences between TT mats, I have a felt mat that came with my TT, and am wondering if there are better alternatives. Thanks!
One of the things I love about vinyl is the smell of it when you take it out of the inner sleeve. And sometimes even the smell of the outer sleeve too!😊😅
Joy👍👍 Super positive presentation!
Appreciate it-thanks for watching!

For me the vinyl sound is nice to listening for my ear other than music platform. 😊
I still enjoy going to record stores and flipping through records cds 💿 and cassettes at my local record stores.
I guess a subset of #4 Community... record trading and loaning with friends is always a great way of sampling new albums! Joy.

Wow--yeah it really is amazing to see the price increases across the board in the vinyl space.
For me it's about finding that vintage vinyl grail I've been looking for at the a record store or flea market.

Ha-nice! Vinyl has a verrrrry distinct smell, that’s for sure.
It's like smelling a worksheet in grade school. 😂

I like putting on some Rick James and doing some booger sugar off the sleeve. You can’t do that with streaming, you’d need a table or something
Joy❤
