We’ve been lucky so far in that Avery hasn’t gotten real sick yet (other than a cold) but I know it’s inevitable so these are helpful for me! Good to file away when I need them! I love learning from veteran moms! 😂 moms who have been through it before.
One thing I do on a regular basis that I learned from my grandmother is to had a little Clorox to my dishwater so that way I am always disinfecting whether we are sick or not. I also keep cans of Lysol spray in the bathroom to spray on the commode and have taught my family to use it on the toilet seat after they have finished, let it dry and it kills the germs; helps to combat sickness before it starts.
I really like the tissue box hack, that makes sense. I agree with you on throwing away the germy toothbrushes, just start fresh. Thanks for these Amy 😍
I really like the tissue box idea! That works for anyone in the house. Tracking on the medicine bottle is a great tip also. Thanks so much for sharing & I am looking forward to your next video!!!!!
I was told by my doctor that if u do not close to toliet lid when flushing the bacteria from that spreads up to 4 feet to put tooth brushes in medicine cabinet or at least toothbrush covers
Have you ever tried the Lysol Laundry Sanitizer?! I love using this on sheets, clothing or stuffed animals my kids were around when sick! Kills 99.9% of germs in the washing machine and smells amazing! 💕
I use this for the clothes you can’t use bleach on. My husband works in healthcare, so this is in regular use in our house to kill the germs on his scrubs.
I love the tip about the toys! I don't know why it has never occurred to me to limit the amount of toys I let them play with! I'll definitely make a little toy box just for sick days from now on!
Lysol has a laundry sanitizer that is bleach free and works great. Also, with my daughter's plastic toys like the LOL's & Shopkins, I speak them in a solution of 1part bleach to 10 parts hot water. Great video and perfect timing! We've had a bunch of folks sick in our area. Thanks, Amy!
Perfect time of year for this video. I had a stomach bug last week and now a head cold this week so it's definitely time for me to go through my house and Lysol EVERYTHING.
Great ideas! I agree the timing of this video is perfect as so many are coming down with the flu, upper respiratory infections and stomach viruses! I also like to keep hand sanitizer near them so after blowing their nose or whatever they can sanitize their hands.
I spray the stuffed animals, pillows, matress and anything else fabric with Lysol spray. It doesn't hurt them and it says it kills germs on fabric. Currently hosing my house down daily with Lysol, lol! We have been so sick this winter!
Well, he also had the stomach virus last Tuesday, then my daughter and I got it Friday. Now this!😫 I’m super overwhelmed! But this is the season for all this and when kids are at daycare/school it’s almost unavoidable.
Good morning - your videos make my day! Thank you for the hacks. My little one was sick last week. I think I do most of these things, but there are some new great ideas in this video! I am currently sick with a sinus infection. I hate being sick, because I still want to get up and do stuff, but it always just sets me back, and I stay sick longer - Bleh! Have a good week!
Great video! Thanks for the tips. One that I found that works good is when your child is throwing up keep a big plastic bowl ( you can usually get them for $1 in the summer stuff at Wal-Mart) let them throw up in it. Then just dump it the toliet and clean/ rinse it out. It works great you don't go through so many dirty towels and trash bags that way. We just keep it under the sink in the bathroom NOT in the kitchen 😷 so it doesn't get mixed up with the one you put food in. Love your channel btw 😀
Love this tip!!!!! The dollar tree would be a great place to get $1 bowls too and if you wanted to throw it away after everyone’s better you could just buy a new one! Thanks so much for sharing girl!!!
Great ideals I especially like the one on keeping up with when you take your medication on the side of the bottle. Three out of four in my family just got over the flu. 🌸
Great tips! I always make sure we use the dishwasher on the hottest settings to kill any germs for glasses or dishes that they could have used. Dr. Said one of the fastest way to get the germs from spreading use the sanitizer on your dishwasher. Thanks for sharing! Love these ideas!
Hi, I'm new to your channel. I'm also a stay at home mom to two kids ages 12 and 9. I've been trying to get started with an Etsy shop as well. I'm loving your channel!!
Such great tips! I would've never thought of laying a towel down or the basket of toys! Oh my gosh and the tissue box!!! I feel like I'm always running around like a mad woman disinfecting everything, lol!
This video came just at the right time, as I’m going to my sons to help him disinfect his house as my grandkids had been sick👍 Love the tissue box tip and also I read in comments about the Lysol laundry sanitizer 😊 Thanks for this video😊👍
I’m sorry I know I comment on all your videos 😂 but you are a Godsend! My little guy just woke up with a fever this morning, so thanks for the tips!! 💕
Great video!! Watching it on my lunch hour & I must say-I took some notes!:) I am the same way about toothbrushes after an illness. I love the tip about containing plastic toys to a bin in order to disinfect later!
Have you heard of Counter Culture Probiotic Cleaning Tonic? I found it on Grove. After all of that disinfecting, you could use this in the air and on fabrics to rebuild the good bacteria that was killed with the disinfecting sprays, so our bodies can stay healthy. I got the geranium scent and I LOVE it! I heard the other scent though isn't as nice.
So many great tips in this video. I especially like the medicine bottle tracker. How many times have I “hemmed and hawed” over when I gave the last dose? 🤷🏻♀️😄 Thanks for sharing!
Really appreciate this video! I'm a germ freak with an 18 month old and it's so sad to work so with cleaning and handwashing etc and then get sick at playdates or church from dirty toys 😢
Love this! I feel like I need to work on having a stash of toothbrushes! When one of us is sick, we are always having to run to the store to get them🤦🏻♀️
Amy I'm a school nurse. My district received a grant this year for parents to receive a free smart thermometer when they signed up for the Kinsa app. Anyone can download the app to their smart phone. Once you sign up you can purchase the thermometer for $20. My parents really like it. You enter your child's symptoms, even if they don't have a fever. You enter the meds and it will remind you of next doses. It's compatible for iPhone and Android. Check it out!
I love the tissue box with rubber band idea! Will be trying that out for sure.
Thank you!!! I love it too!!!
We’ve been lucky so far in that Avery hasn’t gotten real sick yet (other than a cold) but I know it’s inevitable so these are helpful for me! Good to file away when I need them! I love learning from veteran moms! 😂 moms who have been through it before.
Awe thank you Jamie! And you’re so lucky you haven’t had to deal with the flu or stomach bug! It’s sooo sad!!!! Hope you’re feeling well!!!

Really appreciate this video! I'm a germ freak with an 18 month old and it's so sad to work so with cleaning and handwashing etc and then get sick at playdates or church from dirty toys 😢
Yes!!! Mine used to always catch stuff at church! Luckily mine don’t get sick often as they’ve gotten older, but when they do it’s so sad!!!
What a great idea for a video!
Also, I love the idea of having designated toys for the sickie. Great tips!
Omg needed this today! We are all down for the count! 😅
Oh no!!! Hope you all feel better fast!!!
When you are changing the toothbrush, make sure you first desinfect the "glass" and then put the toothbrush on. That way you are completely safe 🤎

Tide has a new antibacterial fabric spray that kills 99.9% of germs on fabrics, beds, furniture etc.
Thanks for sharing!!!! I haven’t used that before but now I want to go get some!!!
Keep paper cups, plates and disposable forks
that's a great idea!!!!
Why not spray the stuffed animals with Lysol and hang outside to dry? Cold air and sunshine kills 🦠
Yes you could do that too!
Here's a tip, wrap your remotes with plastic wrap while they are sick.
Love it!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
